Breakfast was excellent - and view from Coast Restaurant is amazing. Good food in bar and restaurant and friendly staff. Executive room was a good size with lots of space for my mobility scooter.

Pictures of the Executive rooms all show fantastic large windows with views over the estuary. Our room had a tiny window and was on the side of the building - making it very dark. Pool in separate building - makes it impractical to walk there in swimsuit and robe. Major re-modelling taking place which we were not informed about, nor was it noted anywhere, which is quite disruptive.

After an extensive adventure, we decided to spend a few days sightseeing Dublin. Knowing we were weary of the energy of city center, a friend suggested Malahaide as it offers the solitude of a less urban location while having convenient access to the sights of Dublin via the DART. Bonus that it was close to the airport (via cab, around $25 USD). We opted for a room rate that included breakfast and had a seaside view- both choices that added to our enjoyment of our stay. The Grand Hotel met all our needs!

Nothing- it was all just what we needed

Loved the hotel, staff were fabulous, breakfast was lovely, the leisure facilities were very good, and Malahide with the dart into Dublin was a very enjoyable place to stay. There were lovely restaurants and coffee shops in the village, and the walk to Portmarnock was a most enjoyable sea walk.We stayed for the weekend, and as a weekend away, it was a most enjoyable weekend. I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

The lift was awkward.We were on the fifth floor, so we gad to get the lift to the first floor, walk 2 corridors, and then get the lift to the 5th floor. This, however, was the only slightly negative aspect of the weekend.

The room was exceptional, the nicest during our 2-week visit! AC would have been nice, but we found that rarely do hotels in Ireland have AC (only 2 out of 7 we stayed in), so that is to be expected. The operable window was very helpful! The BEST thing about the room was the fabulous bathroom and Dyson hair dryer, never have a had that nice a hair dryer in any hotel. Now I have to go get one! The lounge bar was also exceptional, the best old fashioned my husband had on the trip!

the food in the main restaurant was ok, but not as good as I was expecting for the price.

Lovely hotel in a great location, a short walk from restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. We stayed in an executive room which was huge. The room had a Nespresso machine, Dyson hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers and Rituals toiletries. There were also a few extra welcome items - sleep kit, chocolates and pillow spray. The bed was large and comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. Our rate included breakfast which had a large selection of both continental and hot buffet items. The hotel bar is a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink and is not overpriced. Plenty of free parking.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic (think we hit it at a busy time) and none of the staff came to our table to offer tea/coffee or items from the kitchen (I would have liked the pancakes). There was however a coffee machine and plenty of other breakfast items to choose from.

Buffet breakfast. We arrived 15 mins before closure. We were seated the furthest away from the buffet possible. I have mobility problems and walk with a stick. The seating lady apologised for the distance i was away from the breakfast area but said nothing could be done. Reality is they wanted to be able to clear the top area to set it up for lunch. There was hardly anything left in the cooked breakfast section. A lady came out with extras in dribs and drabs. By the time we had our cooked breakfast, most of it was cold.

We received a room upgrade which was lovely.

I rang prior to our stay and asked if I could add breakfast for 2 onto our booking. The receptionist replied ghat it would be ok to do that. I didn’t realise that she had sent an email to my junk folder asking me to confirm the addition of breakfast on to my booking at a reduced price. When we checked out on Sunday morning I was very disappointed to be told that I was being charged full price for the breakfast.i rang the hotel on Sunday evening and the receptionist told me that she would look into this matter but I am still waiting for a response.

Beautiful hotel, sufficient parking. Our room was super spacious, nice view at breakfast. Gorgeous bar and tea room. Close to Malahide Castle.

The elevator closest to our room did not work, but there is more than one, so you just have to find your way through the maze-like corridors and use a different one. As our room was right across a (fire) door, we could hear it swing open and close when other guests came along the hallway. Missing a toilet brush in the hotel room bathroom. Shower a bit small.

Great room, location and friendly staff. Rituals in the bathroom and the chocolates were a nice touch.

I appreciate you are redecorating and the place will be fantastic when it’s completed but something in the way of gratitude for putting up with the ongoing work would have been nice. Maybe a slight reduction in the rate to reflect it as we weren’t expecting to not have the bar available (it does look great by the way). We will return to you at some stage soon as everything else was great. Looking forward

Hotel is beautiful and located near everything in Malahide. So close to the castle. A short walk to town with pubs and restaurants or to the beach.

The rooms were HOT. The windows only opened 4 inches and could not get air in. No air-conditioning, which can be common in Irleand. The air outside was cool at night but couldn't get the air into the room. They did bring a fan when we asked. If you stay, ask for a first floor room! The room on higher floors were hotter. There is a hotel fan or something humming outside oir window but that didn't bother me with the fan running in our room. To get to the room qas a series of halls and different stairs or different elevators we had to take....it was like walking through a maze to get to the room. That was a bit annoying. Other than the heat , it was a decent old renovated hotel with nice rooms.
