Perfect location for everything, on edge of the old town, very close to lake, shops etc. Had clearly been recently refurbished - our lake side room with terrace had a nice art deco style, was immaculate with lots of space, some nice touches like nespresso machine, comp mini bar items (soft drinks, chocolate etc), dressing gowns and beach bag and wraps left on the bed which were gifts to keep. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Not a major issue but the terraces don’t have a lake views, as there are only on first floor and as there are mature trees in front of the lake. The terrace overlooks a fairly busy road too,so there is some traffic noise - albeit with the terrace doors closed you can hardly hear it, and it didn’t distribute sleep at all.

Excellent location: an easy 10-minute walk from the gare, as well as Old Town. Perfectly located for any experience. Our room had one of the best showers we’ve ever experienced. Everything in the room worked, which is becoming increasingly uncommon. The staff was incredibly generous and polite, and always available. The baked goods at the breakfast buffet were always fresh, and always warm. (They were so good that we both ate like pigs!) All the items in the mini-bar were gratis, and there was a daily evening treat delivered to our room. You really knew how to make us feel special and welcomed!

The elevator was slow, but who was in a hurry?

The location was very convenient, close to Lake Annecy and the old town. It was also about a 10-minute walk from the station. There were plenty of shops around the hotel. Although it’s a lively area, it was very quiet at night. The staff were very pleasant and kind. The hotel was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. I was able to spend a relaxing time there.

The room was clean and well kept, but I was very concerned to see mold on the walls of the bathroom with a bathtub. I thought it could have been removed with proper cleaning using bleach. The bathtub plug was left broken, and I had to fix it myself in order to use it. I would have appreciated it if the facilities had been properly inspected and any issues repaired.

We enjoyed our stay here while in Annecy! The room was very nicely decorated, clean and well stocked with tea / coffee / other drinks. We hadn't purchased breakfast when booking but decided to add it for one of our mornings. There were so many food options (many sweet and savoury options), an excellent selection of beverages, and fantastic staff! The staff all throughout the hotel was wonderful with all of our questions about recommendations and local laundromats. The extra touches for our honeymoon, and the turn-down treats were so nice. The location was also perfect - we were so close to everything and enjoyed walking around all day without ending up too far from the hotel at the end of the evening.

Lovely room and beautiful place. Good location for exploring Annecy. Will store your bags. L'Europeean Rest next door good! Good A/C in the room.

Front desk staff (Adem) not especially friendly. The breakfast was way too expensive so we didn't have it. They were rude about adding an extra bed even though the website implies you can do this. Cribs only. Also we supposedly had a lake view. Not true. We had a view of the sycamore trees shading a narrow strip of water leading to the lake. The hotel is not really on the lake but nearby. Would probably not go back

We find Hotel Splendid to be ideally located for a stay in Annecy - close to the lake, the canals, and the Old Town. It also offers a very significant parking discount at the nearby Hotel de Ville. The hotel staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms provide many comforts including a refrigerator, great beds and bedding, closet space, lockbox, even an ironing board and iron. Breakfast is ample and fresh. This stay was our 5th at Hotel Splendid and will not be our last. A big MERCI to the welcoming staff.

Terrific location

This is a good hotel but with a few changes it could be a great hotel. Reception staff mixed - one good, one not so good. Help with luggage on arrival is always to be welcomed !! Helps if reception staff really know the good restaurants to recommend and are passionate about their city. Just asking how your journey was on arrival is a nice gesture as is asking where you are travelling to next. Ok doesn’t need to be for every guest but pretty easy to work out who is a tourist and who is a business traveller.

Location is great - near the lake and right beside the loveliest part of Annecy. Breakfast is extremely good. Rooms clean. Staff very nice with one exception.

Decor is a bit subdued. With lighter colours would be much more attractive. Also lighting in room could be much better. Male receptionist who “welcomed” us when we arrived late on the evening of 23 September was the exception to otherwise helpful staff. Only saw him that single time but he gave a bad initial impression. A small point if the management read this. Change the carpet in your lift which has seen better days and also looked as if it had not been hoovered for a week. Creates a bad impression in an otherwise very clean hotel.

Excellent stay in a prime location. We added breakfast to our stay and the selection was varied and plentiful. if just a little pricy. For a 'Deluxe Double Room with balcony I found the room to be smaller than expected, with little space around the large bed. Having said that, it was comfortable and in warmer times, the terrace would be delightful with its view. Housekeeping was first class. I made a comment at reception and within a few moments an error in their presentation paperwork was corrected. I was duly impressed. Also impressed with recommendations for dinning out .. .. and the very good malt in the bar.

Just the smaller room than expected but not too much bother.

Jacque at the front desk was the best. His recommendations were perfect. The location of the hotel is excellent. Across from the park and at the entry to the old town. Couldn't ask for a better location. Parking is very affordable. To shoot with the whole family room was very large for three people. We did not have the buffet but looked at it and it looked amazing. Highly recommend for anyone who's visiting.

Nothing
