The location is excellent. It is just across from the train station that made it very convenient for us. The bed was very comfortable. There is also a kitchenette in the room with a microwave, toaster and kettle. Provisions for tea, coffee were all provided. The staff member was very friendly, pleasant and welcoming. We stayed only for a night and were satisfied with the facilities.

The room rates for a small town motel are pretty high.

Stayed in a King Room for a night in Nov. It’s within walking distance to the main sights and eateries in Ararat (not a big city anyway). The rooms were clean and spacious, with practical facilities (functional and not elaborate). The bed was big enough to fit two adults and two kids. The owner was also nice and friendly, giving us recommendations on where to visit and eat. I’ll consider staying here again when I visit the next time.

Owners were very friendly, the motel doesn't look like much from the outside but the rooms have been meticulously renovated, everything spotless and all basics you need are provided. Excellent location, almost opposite Ararat train station. Next visit we will stay here again but catch the train, walk across to hotel and do a tour of J Ward and catch a movie at the art deco Ararat cinema which is all in walking distance.

Wow! My room was as big as a studio, with a dining table, sink and microwave. Very comfortable bed and everything was immaculately clean. The motel is situated on the main road, yet it is very quiet, with off street parking. Located opposite the train and bus station and within a two minute walk of the library, Town hall, RSL, shops, cafes, restaurants & hotels. The lovely owners really care about their guests & the environment with a recycle bin. They are also very friendly and super helpful. I wish to highly recommend the Ararat Southern Cross Motor Inn. 10 out 10!

This Motor Inn knows how to do it right. Friendly staff, room was sizeable, and the room was really quiet. We slept very well - the bed had lovely linen. It felt and looked so clean 😃. Extremely happy and thoroughly recommend.

The place was fabulous. But I have to add that while it is advertised as having a kitchenette, which includes microwave, fridge and sink, this does not include a stove/cooker. No problem at all for us, but just letting you know :)

Sadly I was unable to try the breakfast other than a cup of tea and a couple of Kookas Country Cookies due to time constraints. This motel actually has premium toilet paper (4 ply) and a good range of toiletries for use and as well, has about the best shower I have ever used, it is awesome. Walking distance to the RSL, hotels and cafes.

Nothing, I will return to this little gem of a Motel for sure. An awesome country motel. Quiet room, great block out curtains providing excellent light block out for a good sleep in.

Lady staff was always very cheerful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean, bed and pillows comfortable. It seems to be refurbished recently. Shower was great too, hot water with good pressure. On site parking right in front of room. Location very central with shops and restaurants nearby. Would stay again when I visit Ararat.

Walking distance to everything ,comfy beds , very nice clean and very quiet kitchenette was fantastic with everything you need to heat up or cook toasted sandwiches etc . The owners went over and beyond to make our stay comfortable , very nice owners can’t wait to go back and stay again .price was very reasonable highly recommended kind regards sharon welsh xx

The property was spotlessly clean, and exactly as described on the Booking.com website, which was great to see. Our room was very large, with a king size bed, 2 seated lounge, small dining table and chairs, a small kitchen area, with a sink, Refrigerator, Microwave and all associated cutlery etc’. The separate bathroom contained a large shower, and the hot water system worked perfectly. In all sincerity, we honestly could not fault our accommodation there in any way at all. The owners of this establishment were such a nice couple, and were very friendly and pleasant and helpful, which was marvellous to see such nice people. We were there for two nights 19th and 20th May 2023. We highly recommend this great little Motor Inn for, Accommodation, Cleanliness, Location to local facilities in the town, Pricing, and friendly owners and Staff.

Checkin was really easy and we were greeted in a very friendly way. We stayed in room number 1 which had a king size bed in it. The room was very spacious and extremely clean. We were on the highway and, thanks to the quadruple glazing, could barely hear the traffic noise. There were plenty of places nearby to eat as well, many within walking distance
