Check in very easy and straightforward. Cute, quiet and private villa on the block next to the pub. Kitchen facilities were welcome and made the trip logistics very easy. A simple and modest but good value home base to attend a nearby family function.

I found the main bedroom bed a bit too hard. And this isn't a "not like" but it wasn't very apparent in the room listing that this was a villa detached from the pub ... I think the fact that it's separate from the pub (and has a kitchen) is a selling point for families and would probably have secured my booking earlier!

We stayed in a villa unit at the back of the motel. These are prefab units similar to what you might find in a caravan park. The unit was spacious, comfortable and warm, and was spotlessly clean. It had everything we could need for our stay and being right in the centre of Great Western was perfectly located. Very happy with it. The owner of the hotel Bruce was a very friendly and helpful host. One hint: DO have dinner at the pub: the meals are very nice (The ribs were the best I have had in years!)

I honestly cannot think of anything that would make it better. Now, knowing and accepting it is not 5 star, it is really very good accommodation for what it is. I would happily stay there again!

I liked that the room was roomy and clean, the furniture was satisfactory and in good condition. Nothing new and fancy but all I needed. The bathroom had been renovated. I was there for a place to sleep and shower which this motel provided more than adequate.

Considering my reason for staying here there was nothing I didn't like. The bar staff at check in was friendly and helpful. The gravel parking was not the best for a motorcycle but I managed and enjoyed the challenge

Able to book at very short notice. Very convenient to find, on my trip from South Aus to Melbourne. Room just right size for a solo traveller. Bed quite comfy but appreciated extra blankets so heater did not have to go all night.

Only minor things Tap in bathroom kept dripping, fridge a bit noisy and draughty under door ( used towel as draughty stopper … hope you don’t mind)) It was shortest day and fairly cold night so was very cosy really.

I liked the fact that it was so clean, welcoming and there was everything we needed. The pillows were good, most unexpected, and the bed was comfortable. Often neither are great.

There were only two bowls and big spoons and we were three people. The Internet didn't work which didn't worry us but our International guest was disappointed. There could have been a brochure or two about Great Western for our guest as he is a wine specialist.

We arrived late evening & a staff member called us about an hour before we were due to arrive to inform us that there was not going to be any staff available on our arrival, so they let us know what to do so we could find our room easily and enter with minimal disruption. Much appreciated.

Near highway but no problem! My son and I brought ear plugs knowing the this, so the truck noise overnight did not disturb us at all. Just come prepared :-)

This accommodation was perfect for what we wanted. Warm and cosy, had everything we needed for an overnight stay. And walking distance to cafe's and the restaurant. Loved it!

Only hiccup was The Great Western bistro had an unusually busy night when we were there, so it took an hour and a half to get our food which was tricky with kids. Food was delicious when it came though and we just chalked it up as a one-off - the staff were very apologetic and gracious.

Was such a surprise find! It was a difficult time of year (Dec 27th) to find affordable family accomodation and we had never heard of Great Western before. The accomodation were well appointed , spacious jayco holiday units behind the local historic pub. Due to being a stones throw away from cellar doors such as Seppelt, the wine list was incredible. The pub served meals which were hearty pub fare. The staff were very busy but still had time to be friendly and helpful. What an unexpected gem!

There was nothing we didn't like.

A well-organized, clean space with two bedrooms, a living area, kitchen, and essential toiletries. A perfect place to stay! Woolworths is just a 12-minute drive away, and nearby hotel opening hours are 4 to 6pm .There's a cafe right across from the motel. Stawell, a small town with all amenities, is conveniently located just a 12-minute drive away.

Gas was a bit slow, and it took too long to cook tea. And iron, i believe, wasnt there .

The weather was freezing cold windy and wet but the motel room was warm and comfortable, the adjacent hotel/restaurant was excellent with a roaring fire, good excellent, big menu and specials. Lots of wines especially locals by the glass.
