The location is hard to beat with beautiful views from the ocean front terraces. The heated soaking pool has a quaint surrounding, and I was lucky to enjoy it all to myself in the early morning at sunrise. The birds definitely add to the charm of the hotel lobby. Our bellhop was friendly and professional. Appreciated the room service options, and the breakfast we ordered was tasty and a generous portion size. In fact, we saved half in the mini fridge and reheated the next day in the microwave in the room, so that was very convenient. The layout of the hotel makes it easy to get in and out quickly with elevators at both ends of the hallway and a short walk to both parking lots when driving to other areas. We had a very pleasant experience and loved being right on the boardwalk so close to the ocean.

The hotel overall could use a refresh. It's understood that it's meant to be a vintage style, which fits, but the furniture and decor feel overly worn. Even the towels need to be refreshed, some were white, some off-white, some frayed at the edges from wear. (However, the robes did seem to be fresh and new.) The pillows were also uncomfortable. When we ordered room service, there was no convenient place to eat it. One person could sit at the desk, but the other needed to hold the plate while sitting on the couch or chair. I did see a photo afterwards showing the food served on a folding TV tray table, but we didn't seem to have any in our room.

We have been staying here with our family of seven since 2004. The staff's friendliness, attention to detail and interaction with us and our children have always gone above and beyond we expect. The pool area is always a pleasant experience during family time and during adult only time the poolside service is always above expectations. The attention to detail in the room is amazing and the unique experience with the three birds in the lobby are always a pleasure. We were blown away and not expecting our three childrens to get a sand, pail and shuffle with a little toy and individual kites for on the beach. And of course the food and the bar drinks are acceptable. One of the gentlemen there recommended us go to M&D Bird farm and aquatics which is where some of their birds have come from . It was a delightful experience and I'm glad that they recommended it .We can't wait to book our next day later this year for our anniversary and then again with our family

There is absolutely nothing negative I could say about this hotel.

Second year in a row for us at this hotel, and we had a great time this year too. The staff is great, location superb and facilities are quite nice. We'll go again next year!

I don't have any complaints really. Next year I will try to book a different room, just because of a space optimization reason: we had 2 double beds which we didn't need and we could have used one room of the same size with 1 queen bed.

The staff was super friendly. The room was clean, extremely quiet, and had a comfortable bed. You can't ask for a better location. You're right on the boardwalk within several blocks of everything you need.

The quality of the food and alcoholic drinks are not what you would expect for the price you pay for the hotel. Could use a little help in that area. More seasoning needed and the beer was hot.

Loved the character of the place. The decor, the birds in the lobby. The location was wonderful. Staff were great always so helpful and friendly above and beyond!

Parking was easy but tight. Not really anything I didn’t like.

The hotel is charming with a wonderful staff. Parking was convenient with a choice of underground or surface parking. Bellhop service was available. The location was perfect, right on the Boardwalk, and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The room was cozy and well decorated with very comfortable beds. The dining room and pub face the ocean with fireplaces scattered around. The outdoor patio had firepits and large space heaters. The birds in the lobby added a unique and special touch. I was very pleased with this hotel and would highly recommend it.

The property was fabulous! Staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly during our entire stay. The Location can’t be beat!!! My husband and I took our 2 year old and 1 year old. We stayed in the double standard room without a view because it was the only room available last minute in our price range. The room was perfectly fine and comfy! We had enough room for all of our stuff and the travel crib. It was tight but workable!

The hot water in shower is sporadic, ranging from luke warm to burning hot every 30 seconds. I had read about this issue on other reviews, but it wasn’t that important to me on this short trip. But if I was staying here longer I would’ve been irritated. On more minor side, I also didn’t like how the air conditioner made a loud knock sound everyone it turned on and off. One other small thing that would be an improvement for families is to offer some kids portion sizes on the breakfast options. I should note that I did not raise any concerns with the hotel during my stay or ask them to rectify it. Everything else here was top notch!!

Great front desk service. Loved the hot tubs on the roof deck with the gorgeous view of the beach. Loved how children couldn’t access the pool after 8pm and were not allowed in the hot tubs. Very nice restaurant with outdoor seating with heaters and fire pits.

Had room service. Delivery person quiet yet pleasant. Excellent breakfast. On time. Enjoyable.

I use a cane and it was helpful to avoid steps but I could not remember which entrances had steps or no steps to get to elavstor. Had to walk back and forth around building several times. Perhaps signage at more accessible entrances would be helpful and less frustrating.

I like the authenticity and care expressed by the staff. I liked the exquisite beauty everywhere. It was so much fun to be surrounded by all that creativity!
