Beautiful cottage. Very well equipped. Comfortable beds. Very clean bathrooms. We saw the aurora from the verandah around the cottage. Sea and mountain view. Walk to the sea beach 5 mins. Walk to the restaurant 2 mins. Apartments and rooms of the hotel are closer to the sea, but a little further away from the restaurant.

A microwave would have been nice. Also, some streaming options on TV (Netflix). Some more options for vegetarians/vegans in breakfast would be nice.

We stayed in the top floor of the yellow cottage and it was our favorite stay in Iceland! It is beyond cute with room for everyone plus a living room and full kitchen. There are windows throughout with 360 degree gorgeous views of the ocean, mountains, pastures— it was absolutely picturesque. Everything was very clean and comfortable. LOVED the extra sinks and garbage cans in bedrooms so more than one person could be getting ready at a time—critical for a 5 people. Good place to stay to be close to Glacier Lagoon/Diamond Beach and if you want to explore the glaciers. Also close to Höfn. There’s a restaurant on site which was good. Also the food trucks nearby in Glacier Lagoon were fantastic! Don’t wait to book! Perfect for a family of 5!

Can’t really think of too much. Maybe some updated photos for the apartment—I was pleasantly surprised as I don’t remember seeing the cuteness when we booked.

Location was great - 10 mins to glacier lagoon and diamond beach! Staff and owner were so lovely. Breakfast was fantastic. And we enjoyed the lovely museum next door. We stayed in the hotel and took advantage of the mini-refrigerator in the lobby available to all guests. We had a water temp issue on the first night but that was very quickly resolved by the staff. They take great care in making sure you're comfortable! Would stay here again!

It wasn't the least expensive place we stayed, but for the location, cleanliness of the rooms, and complimentary breakfast, it was well worth it. The staff and owner take a lot of care in running their place and are such lovely people. We enjoyed the museum very much and learning more about the famous Icelander poet!

The accommodation is in separate units away from the reception and dining area. There is also a talking rock outside reception! In the unit there was a shared lounge area with sofas and free tea and coffee provided that you made for yourself and could take back to your room. Breakfast was a good choice of things from a cold buffet, cakes etc. and the dining area served very nice evening meals (and great local beer!). Reception also had an area selling gifts of various kinds. We bought a couple of items and they turned out to be the best prices when we saw the same things in other places. The location is good for visiting the glacial lagoons with icebergs and 'diamond beach' where the icebergs end up.

Nothing to change. Just be aware you might need an umbrella :-)

The hotel is located just a 10–15 minute drive from Jökulsárlón Ice Lagoon. Rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and essential toiletries provided in the bathroom. In the common area, guests can enjoy free coffee and tea, and there’s a refrigerator along with some glasses and plates available. A restaurant is located in the main building, which is about a 5-minute walk from the accommodation building (we drove there). Breakfast is delicious and includes some homemade dishes featuring lamb and fish. The staff are friendly and helpful. Free parking is available on-site. Since the hotel is quite remote, there are no shops or other restaurants in the vicinity. Keep this in mind if arriving late, as the hotel restaurant closes at 9 p.m.

Although the restaurant is on the pricier side, the food was absolutely delicious.

The property is great, with good views all around, ample parking and well sized rooms. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was simple but good. It is at a building away from rooms, but the walk is short and nice if weather is good. You appreciate the views around while walking. It is just 10 mins drive from Jokularson Lagoon, allowing you multiple visits, if you so desire. The common area near rooms is a great place to socialize.

The temperature control in room was weird. We generally felt it became stuffy fast if windows are closed, and gets too cold if we leave windows open. The second gripe we have is that rooms dont even have a hot water kettle ( although you can use hot water from coffee machine in common area).

Hali Country Hotel is in a brilliant location, a few kilometres north of the Glacier Lagoon at Jokulsarlon. The room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. It was quite cold outside, but snug inside. A guest lounge provided a place to make tea, coffee etc, and to relax. The views of the glacier and waterfront would be amazing in fine weather.

The restaurant was a bit on the expensive side, but Iceland is very expensive overall. The breakfast/ dining area was separate from the guest rooms, and a bit of a walk. We drove to it in the car, as it was raining.

The location is perfect. It's Beutiful and you can easily stay here for 3 or 4 nights and have lots of things to do within a one hour driving distance. If you just plan on staying on the south coast and don't want to change hotels to often this is the place to stay. The rooms weren't super fancy, but definitely nice enough and with the breakfast and free coffee and tee in the lounge area, very good value for money. The dinner at the restaurant was also delicious and the staff was really friendly.

All the windows are on the grounds floor so technically people can look in from the outside. But it's pretty remote and you can just close the curtains, so it was fine.

This place was really comfortable. The room was big, well equipped and very clean with a private bathroom (which is not a norm in Iceland). Abundant free parking. The apartment building had a common area with free tea and coffee which was a nice touch. Breakfast buffet was pretty good. The restaurant serves dinner which was a big bonus for me since this area of Iceland is very scarcely populated.

The hotel is split into several buildings (reception + restaurant, appartment buildings). In a sunny weather it would be a pleasant stroll, but since it was raining I had to drive to dinner and breakfast. The price was crazy high, but since this was the only available option in the area, I had no choice.

We had the first floor apartment (the yellow building) which is right next to the sea. The views are great and there is parking right outside the door. Breakfast was provided in the main reception and was plentiful and varied. The apartment is warm and cosy, with a good kitchen for making your own food (including a microwave) - it came in very handy as there is nothing else for miles and the hotel's own restaurant is pretty expensive. Remember to buy your food as you leave a more populated area and bring it with you! We were not blessed with the weather during our stay in February, but this is a stunning spot and we would certainly return if ever in the area again. It is great value for a larger party (5 in total) compared to anything else around the Jokulsarlon lagoon. Comms with the hotel staff was very good, with info provided in advance. Highly recommended if on a road trip to Iceland's south west coastline.
