It is clear that in this case the owner really thought about all the needs of us travelers - and he enhanced it all with the design of the entire unit. Spacious room, well equipped - we appreciate the style and attention to detail. Electric kettle, French press, coffee and tea available. We had dinner at the "sister hotel" - beware, although it is in sight, but it is definitely not across the street, but within driving distance. Timely and accurate information for check-in, no contact - using a code (we just don't know - what was the metal key for?). Very comfortable beds. Parking in front of the entrance, under the terrace.

Great location and cute property. They provided free parking and a discount on delicious food from hotel Jökulsárlón. Responsive on messenger and helpful. The self service check in/out was convenient. They also left water in the fridge for us and tea/coffee if we’d like; that was a nice touch. Thanks for a nice stay.

The room was a bit smaller than expected, but I can’t complain because there wasn’t a lot of options for staying in the area and the room was really cute!

Ekra Glacier Lagoon is unique in so many respects. We couldn’t more highly recommend staying here. Setting is magnificent. Our room was the perfect blend of classy and casual. We loved the beds, linens and pillows and French coffee press. The hosts were wonderful, very attentive with their guests best interest in mind). Don’t think twice…Book it and Enjoy!

Good direction instructions. Chalet type quality building better than average but not luxurious - in isolated nature location with expansive views. Main benefit in winter is night-over location for next day visit to Hofn & Jokulsarlon glacier. Location easily accessed off A1 main road route. Only a 7/10 as a value proposition - lack of even a basic breakfast purchase option. A yogurt,fruit & croissant or sandwich via vending machine or breakfast box would add value. No amenities closeby. Note: If coming from Southwest last eatery on A1 is about 63km before residence. An hour to the East most Hofn restaurants closed for winter. Lock box entrance process efficient. Second floor apartment accessed by metal stairs. Three roof covered parking spaces utilized by three lower floor residents.No problem with parking on lot. Big wooden deck on upper floor for two available rooms. Larger third abode was cordoned off. Perhaps the latter abode has a hot tub but none was visible on site. Room was very warm on entrance. Comfortable bed. Request for not walking in shoes inside wood floored room. After seeing a tourist enter a shop in clampons I fully understand the need. A shoe rack though would be a welcome addition in winter. Bathroom and toilet combined. Ventilation is via small window. Electricity socket each side of bed. No usb outlets.So bring your own suitable plug. Good quality internet:53mbsdownload, 41 upload.TV was not programmed but Netflix/Disney was accessible. Wine opener Kettle & drinking crockery/cafetière & coffee,tea,sugar is provided.

Security cameras were very small, discreet and intrusive - directed straight into room windows! No microwave or heating/cooking possibilities Need to have dined before evening arrival and breakfast groceries pre-purchased

Amazing property, very private, very comfortable, this is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. The bathroom floor was heated, shower area so spacious with a heated towel rack, big sink area with a lovely mirror. The parking was great, you can even charge your car. The staff cleaned the snow bright and early so we didn’t have to deal with it. The staff helped assist us with any questions we had or issues (don’t leave your key in your room) we would definitely come back to this facility, 100% worth the money. So happy we choose this.

It was a bit far from any food places, better off to bring instant noodles as they have a kettle or bring left overs when your out and about as they have a fridge.

The room was clean and comfortable, with a modern design. The bed was cozy, and the amenities provided were appreciated. The glacier mountain view in the morning was absolutely breathtaking. I had a good stay at this place.

Since it's a self-service hotel, it is really hard to find help if we need it. We had some difficulties opening the key box and there wasn't anyone to help but fortunately, we figured it out ourselves. The coffee maker in our room was dirty. We tried to clean it, but it's still dirty.

The view out the widow and off the deck were great. The room was decorated very nicely. It was contactless check in. Shower was nice. I would definitely rent this place again.

Not a lot of places to park. I couldn't get the TV to play anything other than a Spanish Netflix channel. Also the room was conjoined to the next one with a sign to keep it locked. Not sure how secure that was but I didn't have any issues.

Great location to explore the nearby glacier lakes, beautiful, clean new room with comfortable beds and great view over the valley. Communication with the guesthouse was great.

The road to the guesthouse is very difficult to get up to by car and there's no staff at the guesthouse (nor breakfast or any snacks available). Gladly we knew about this from reading other people's reviews. The room had a kettle and tea/coffee provided but that's all so remember to bring your own food! Closest restaurant is about 10min drive away and closes early. Also the Ekra glacier lagoon did not have water in it when we stayed there in early August, but you could see the bigger glacier in distance from the guesthouse.

This property is located within easy distance of the Glacier Lagoon. It set in rural location within easy distance a view to the lagoon.

We were disappointed that the 10% discount on our evening meal at the sister hotel, the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon , which was indicated in our room was not applied,although requested.
