Staff at reception and breakfast were exceptionally friendly and helpful

When we stayed in 2019 it was nice to have an after dinner spritz before retiring. No bar this time and we were advised to go to sister hotel which we did.

Great location, friendly staff, and very clean. The breakfast is great. Definitely recommend for a short stay.

Smallest room I’ve ever stayed in. Smaller than in Hong Kong or Singapore. It’s great for one day. More than that… I would stay elsewhere. Also Booking.com advertising is false: they charge taxes upon check out. Its not all included.

The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was sparkling clean, and in any case everything necessary was there. This is the only shower cubicle during my travels in Europe, that closed hermetically, so I did not have to step over an "ocean" after coming out of the shower. The safe worked and it was simple to use. The TV set worked, and the wifi was strong. There were power points (including USB) next to the bed. The breakfast was included in the price of the room, though I did not remember choosing the option with breakfast when I booked, which suggests that all guests are served breakfast. This is a very nice touch, and I wish more hotels acted the same way: one feels welcome. The elevator was small and rather slow. However, I was on the second floor and could easily take the steps to go up or down when in a hurry. The location is central, walking distance to Piazza Maggiore (the heart of Bologna), other attractions, and the train station. Public buses stop nearby. The staff at reception when I arrived was very efficient, competent, and courteous. When I come to Bologna I usually stay elsewhere, but this hotel was a very nice discovery, and for a short stay very pleasant. I will certainly be back in the future.

1. The room was a little small, and so was the bathroom. There was a little window, but it might have faced on an internal courtyard, because not much light came through. 2. There is not much room to place one's personal items, .e.g., beauty-case, clothes, etc. in the room. Also there is a small table immediately under the TV set, which I used to put my personal things on, but then I could not use it for anything else. 3. The power box is covered by a black box which protrudes several cm outside of the wall and looks as though its edges and corners are rather sharp: I needed to watch out for it, because accidentally hitting my head against it would have certainly caused a lot of mess in the room.

The property is located in the center of Bologna, you can reach anywhere on foot, which was quite convenient!. The room was properly clean and provided with all the necessary, and the bed/pillows were comfortable! We particularly appreciated the breakfast as there were vegan and gluten free options! Overall recommended.

We found the price a bit high to be a 3-star (almost 150 euros a night, including city tax). There was not a proper bathroom door (but a thin glass sliding door), which doesn’t give a full privacy while using the toilet. The most negative thing was that the cleaning ladies start cleaning very early. That woke us up due to the voices and the noise of the vacuum cleaner in the hallway. This starts around 7/7.30 in the morning. Not very nice if you had a long day and want to sleep a little longer

We arrived early and were able to leave our bags at the front desk. The staff were extremely helpful at all times, helping with restaurant recommendations, directions, and booking transport to and from a Lamborghini factory tour. The rooms were clean, modern and our bed and those for the kids were comfortable. Shower was lovely! Location was fantasic, 5 minute walk to the centre and 10 minute walk to the train station. Loved that there was a fresh food market almost next door whe we arrived.

There was no real fridge or water for guests. I think every hotel should provide free water and hot drink facilities to guests.

Great centre location, very clean, beds/pillows comfortable. Good and silent AC, small wall fridge. Nice window with view to the Main Street with lovely trees and the sound of crickets. Staff very nice, professional, helpful.

Breakfast was ok but… Good selection of cakes, some cold meats/cheese, boiled eggs, yogurts, cappuccino available from both automatic machine and freshly made from the bar at no extra cost. Unfortunately short of staff - 2 people can’t physically do it all. Piles and piles of dirty dishes, tables not cleared/ready, some plates were still dirty after washing, found hair on cold meats….yes some things can happen of course but easily fixed by employing the right number of staff. We felt sorry for the staff who were working very hard to cope.

This hotel is well-located for visiting Bologna, a 10 minute walk from the trains station. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast had more variety than others we have experienced on our 22 day trip. The room was very comfortable, modern and clean. We were on the 4th floor and it was very quiet.

It suited our needs for our stay in Bologna but it could maybe benefit from a bar service in the early evening. There was a very inadequate fridge on the wall which barely held a bottle of water.

A separate apartment is the best option for our family. The staff is friendly.

The second bed for kids was awful. It was too loud and small. The biggest disappointment was breakfast. We paid 12 euro per person. We got an unsalted omelette and croissants with weak coffee. We tried that only once. There is a great place across the street with excellent coffee and sandwiches "L'Incontro" . We paid 25 - 30 for 4 people which is half the price of Regina breakfast. The square in front of our apartment window was always full of some second hand traders. It is not the best view in town, believe me. Overall it is a good place to stay for the price.

The hotel was much better than what we expected, nicely refurbished, good size room for a family of 4, with comfortable bed and sofa, and great air conditioning. We had a very comfortable stay and definitely a place I would stay in again in the future. Location is just 10 minutes walk from the city center, very convenient.

I don't get used to bathrooms with glass doors especially for bigger parties. They look modern and fancy but they don't allow enough privacy. Breakfast was OK, and was great to have it included, but it's pretty basic so don't expect anyhting great.

The Zanhotel Regina is centrally located within Bologna, meaning it was easy to get around the city without using public transport. I stayed in a single-bed room that was a decent size with a great bathroom (including a rainfall shower). The breakfast options were abundant and tasty. I would have no reservations in booking this hotel again, if I find myself in Bologna again

I find it hard to think of anything that I didn't like about this hotel. Perhaps the room's fridge, which was hung on the wall, was a little small. With 2 bottles of water and a glass inside, I only had room for four 330ml cans of beer (and that involved balancing one on top of one of the bottles of water). A slightly bigger fridge would be my only wish if I were to stay there again.
