Multiple things. I liked how the bed was against a window outlooking onto an awesome view. The lighting and technology in the room was great. Helpful staff. Coffee was delicious from the POD machine and I liked how it outlined what POD was what. Location was good, walked out the door to the shore and the beautiful walkway. The IPAD in the room was good where you can order drinks and mentioned the staff would even bring up the Uber eats you ordered!

It was nice and modern, the room, the library area and lounge bar area were all really nice. I feel the hotel pays attention to detail, the whole hotel had a pleasant scent throughout as you walked through, and calm music playing in the lifts. Check in was seamless and the hotel staff were also quite friendly. The bedroom had some unique features that helped make the stay more comfortable, for example black out curtains and you could change the lighting throughout the room in your bed so you don’t have to get up to turn the lights off. The room had built in speakers which you could connect to with Bluetooth which was a nice touch. I appreciated that they used a good brand coffee (St Ali) for the pod machine in the room and Byredo soaps/body washes etc for bathroom were also a nice touch too. Over all I enjoyed my stay here and would come back! Locations fairly good, 20 mins walk from the city centre Darby Street or 5 minutes walk to the Interchange station.
Honestly pretty happy with everything. Whilst the location was good it wasn’t perfect in the sense that the there weren’t many restaurant/cafe options immediately around (there were a few but not much). It would be so nice if the hotel had its own kitchen for breakfast, based on the quality of everything else, I could imagine they’d do it well! Over all this is much better than the average 4 star hotel, and better than some 5 star hotels I’ve been to.

Location is fabulous, easy to walk to the waterfront where there are numerous cafes, restaurants and bars. Great walking and bicycle tracks close. Staff were attentive and helpful. The facilities at the hotel are wonderful, all day coffee and tea, chilled water fountain on each floor and a bar that has Happy Hour daily! It is a great boutique hotel. The rooms are not large, but very well designed and the bathroom products are lovely. There is a cafe downstairs and have a wonderful breakfast menu.
We did have an issue on the first night with the very loud noise from the air conditioner and unfortunately, my husband had very little sleep, he actually had to go and get the night manager to hear it for themselves and they agreed. We were moved the next morning and no further concerns.

Nice Business center level 2 for jumping into meeting and have privacy would be nice to have more private noise proof space for solo travelers to sit with laptop, gets a bit noisy with more people coming in for happy hour Fab Gym -nice and clean and good range of equipment Uber options and room set up excellent - perfect for solo travel.
Business Centre - Bar Area level 1. would be better to have wall socket for tables where you can site more comfortably for using laptop. the areas with the higher tables, had only USB access. The Bar menu could be improved to cater to vegan and have options to add cheese or other options to the menu. it's a bit too limited. Breakfast Cafe - coffee and food room for improvement

One of the best places I've stayed in the CBD area of Newcastle for reasonable $. The room was neat, clean, tidy and quiet. But one warning, it is compact! There's a lot packed in but surprisingly doesn't feel crowded. For a one or 2 night stay, not an issue but if you're staying longer, then I'd be looking at the apartment for a little extra elbow room. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Shower screen is effective, doesn't leak or leave puddles of water all over the floor. All other in room facilities excellent - Nespresso coffee machine & pods (no sachets - hooray!), T2 teas. Location is brilliant. Only a short walk to a large selection of eating places and not all that far from the Civic Theatre. Newcastle Interchange also only a short walk away should you choose not to drive, and light rail will get you pretty close to a couple of beaches without too much effort walking or worrying about car parking.
Only one issue...You do have to crawl over your bed partner (if one is present) during the night to be able to get in/out of bed to use the bathroom. If this is likely to bother you, don't stay here as there are no other options.

A really beautiful hotel. So many things have been thought of, like the water stations near the lifts, the library area with coffee!! The block out blinds really do block out. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The bath robes are so plush and gorgeous, I literally napped in one. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great, short walk or uber to the areas we needed to go. I have a couple of tiny complaints. The chromecast didn't work most of the time sadly and caused a lot of frustration for my partner. The shower seemed to spray out into the bathroom even with the shower door closed, our bathmat got drenched and didn't dry out even overnight. Also, the bed configuration with walls/windows on 3 sides was fine for a night, but I think would be annoying for a longer stay, or if you had any difficulty with mobility. For the price point, and considering the other amenities, i can overlook this. Overall loved our stay though, and would definitely stay again.

The location is great and you can walk to many restaurants and shops, there is a large walkway on the river across the street that was so fun to walk on. The amenities are really great here, the gym was so huge and when I used it there was no one else there. The library has complimentary tea and coffee and lots of seating areas. The room was large and the bed and TV were also large. It was clean and I enjoyed the shower as well. I booked a stay at the same hotel in Sydney I liked it so much!
The bed is super soft which someone else mentioned. It is a personal preference, but for me it was a little too soft, but I still booked the same hotel in Sydney!

Fantastic addition to the hotel choices in the Honeysuckle area and great location and facilities. Cleverly designed rooms and amenities, the office and working facilities were excellent too
There was a distinctive smell in the room however, which appeared to be a stale musty and pungent aroma, not too dissimilar to rotting fish. When I complained to the hotel following our stay, I was rather unimpressed with the response : "As we are located near the waterfront, the natural environment can sometimes contribute to such odours" bear in mind we were in one of the upper floors, so this was rather disappointing !!

Techs such as the speaker system and a smart tablet. Great location. The library is a great place to chilli.
Staff at Monety was very rude! On the morning of Sat 26 Jan 2025, we checked out online and went to Monte for breakfast. We asked for a table with shade. The waiter said no tables are available inside. But you can choose any table outside. Two of us sat down on a table for four outside because there were 2 seats under shade. One minute later, 2 waiters came and asked us to make room for a family of three. One of the staff said, " You just have to make space!"

Everything was honestly so good! One of the Best hotel experience I’ve had. The room was good, staff were super friendly and helpful, earlier check in was not a problem and they even offered me late check out without even asking, this is next level customer service. Thank you for being so welcoming and kind! The hotel is super modern, the gym is top class and the library- I got my work done, printed some documents, had coffee and biscuits. This is so much more I expected, I will definitely be back and recommend this place to everyone I know.
There was little bit weird smell in the room, not bad but just strange. Not all the time but sometimes.. I don’t know, maybe it was me :D
