Had a fantastic stay at this little hidden gem. Paul the host was absolutely lovely and we received a lovely welcome. The location is ideal and everywhere was within walking distance, yet it is hidden away from the hustle and bustle. The whole place was quirky and he has put a lot of effort into making it a very special little getaway location. Everything was practically on the doorstep. The room was lovely and had some real character and he champions local business for some of the supplies in the room which was lovely to see

Only thing missing ( and it's a girl thing ) was a full length mirror for getting ready 😁

The host Paul was very welcoming, chatty and passionate about his hotel. The room was clean and finished to a very high standard. Finishing touches were a lovely selection of specialist teas sourced from a local company in Margate. Our room had the usual kettle and also a coffee maker. Comfortable bed, tv and shower room. The courtyard was lovely to sit in a pond with Carp, small waterfall and lovely planting. Located near to the beach in the old part of town, a little quieter than the rest of Margate, which was lovely. 10-15 minute walk from the train station. 10mins walk to Dreamland for the concert venue.

Nothing!

If you want to be in the heart of the old town this is perfect. Met by the host on arrival , Paul was absolutely charming. The accommodation is delightfully presented - all needs carefully considered, comfy bed and great shower. Particularly loved the walled courtyard garden - a surprise treat. Everything is close by - cafes, bars, restaurants ,and of course the beach.

Something to bear in mind if you are travelling by car - slight inconvenience with parking as although its located by a carpark that only allowed max 4hr bookings. You need to locate a parking spot else where - happily we found one within a 10min easy walk on a residential road.

A great location Paul was very friendly we had some great chats , the room was fine lots of hot water very comfortable bed no furniture a little bit small but the bed was big and comfortable once again a great location second's from the harbour I would definitely stay there again Paul was friendly and accommodating I was very pleased and some great walks a nice big TV with loads of channel's I thoroughly enjoyed my trip in Margate 👍.

I would have liked a small fridge and once the building work was quite noisy up to 7pm one night I had got back from a long walk out to Ramsgate and the noise from the building work was quite noisy up to after 7 pm but that was it after that night it was very quiet and nobody bothers you .

The room is perfect with nice touches, the outdoor area is quirky and pleasant, Paul the host was friendly and helpful and the place is within easy walking distance of everything. I was expecting a hotel style place from the description, but this is not the case. There is no reception, no food facilities and the entrance is via a back gate in a car park . . . Nonetheless, it is safe and quiet and there are numerous eating places close by and I enjoyed my overnight stay . . . It just wasn't what I had expected.

I enjoyed my stay overall, but was expecting some on site food and drink facilities based on the Booking.com description.

Beautiful small and luxurious guesthouse near to the sea in Margate. About a mile from the train station if you are travelling that way. The owner, Paul, that we met was utterly lovely and could not have been any more helpful. He lives in an adjoining properly that is being renovated but we heard no noise or disturbance while we stayed there. Lovely bed, really well decorated room great tea and coffee facilities, AMAZING shower. Very practical little kitchenette with fridge if needed. You enter from the back through a car park where there is a gate that let's you into the courtyard for the property. Call in advance for entry.

No breakfast as the restaurant is undergoing renovation but this is a tiny niggle. The terrifying teddy bear with the realistic looking teeth, what was THAT about :)

The owners of this small guest house were very nice. They live on the premises and can answer questions about the town. My room was large and beautiful and located minutes from the central part of Margate. It had a kitchenette with coffee and teas and a refrigerator. I would highly recommend the Beetroot. One alert is that the entire from of the facility is under construction. They are adding rooms and a restaurant. This means you enter from the back where there is a gate. You will need to call them for entry. This was a bit confusing to me when I arrived.

Lovely characterful set of rooms with great central location for old town, harbour and Tate. Lots of nice bars and restaurants in short walking distance. The room was very comfortable. Bed was lovely and having the additional soft pillow was great. Towels were soft and ensuite bathroom was very clean. Nice choice of teas plus kettle and cups plus water glasses and wine glasses in room. Paul is very friendly and helpful and gave good advice about where to park for free. The property has a lovely outside space to sit and enjoy a glass of wine (if the weather is kind).

Not enough spaces and coat hangers for coats etc. Not enough little milks in the room for 2 people to have a hot drink before bed plus a drink each in the morning. No chair or stool to sit on in the room. Insufficient shelf in bathroom for 1 persons stuff (let alone 2).

Our stay at the Beetroot was very nice. The owner greeted us on arrival and was very kind. He also let us stay in the room past check-out time as it was raining and we had a bit of a wait until it was time to catch our train. The room itself was like a tiny art museum! Definetly one of the more unique rooms we have ever stayed in. It was also located very centrally, so easily walkable to everything we wanted to visit, inlcuding the train station.

The only down side to the room was that the hot water did not last very long, however, it did heat up again pretty quickly.
