Fantastic location near the Hoam Kiem lake, at weekends the streets around the lake are closed to traffic making it so much easier to walk and breath fresher air ( which is an issue in the whole Old Quarter area due to traffic pollution ). Had a room on 7th floor with the view of the lake, the room was quite big and the bed was very comfortable ( in fact probably the best in all the hotels we stayed in Vietnam including a 5* resort in Phu Qouc island ), we had initially some small issues with the room but the problems were corrected by the staff immediately which we appreciated greatly. In fact all the reviews rating the hotel staff very highly are so true, we were very impressed by the friendliness, helpfulness and attentiveness of all staff and Sandy, the Manager in particular ! Breakfast was good with plenty of choice for all tastes.

Some of the common area ( lobby, breakfast restaurant ) soft furnishings could do with a makeover or a better clean - there were stains and long black hairs on the chairs in the breakfast room during my 5 night stay, so obviously nobody vacuumed them at all

Great location by the lake & old town. Easily walkable. Helpful staff. Rooftop view is nice. Free breakfast - order the pho or off the menu for best options.

I had issues with consistent hot water. The staff was really helpful & fixed it but it still didn’t stay hot for as long as I’d have liked but was better. (It was cold in January.) They offered to let me switch rooms but didn’t want to repack all over again.

Breakfast buffet. Convenient location - easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, attractions. Helpful staff, for example with booking transportation.

Air conditioning situation - might been bad luck across three separate stays. Seems to reset to a higher temperature in the middle of the night even with the timer, so not consistently cool or cold. If windows or doors aren't tightly sealed, noice and air from the outside can come into the room. Rest of family didn't have issues with keeping their rooms cool.

I had an amazing stay at Authentic Hanoi. The hotel's location is perfect, nestled in the heart of the Old Quarter, making it easy to explore Hanoi's vibrant streets. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. Sandy, the manager, is a gem! She greets you with a warm and genuine smile, making you feel right at home. The hotel itself is spotless, with clean and comfortable rooms.

The staff was AMAZING! Always helpful, courteous and they speak English well. The facility was modern & clean. The breakfasts were nice-definitely things to choose from. They upgraded our room to a suite- it was large & modern with a private balcony. It was always cleaned well with many toiletries available.

The croissants were sooo good. One day they ran out (because everyone loved them)!

Great location, perfect walking distance to the lake, french quarter, and old quarter, but also quieter being just out of the busy street. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Sandy and the staff were very friendly and helpful with tips and organizing things for us. Family friendly!

The hotel was really well located, so close to the hotel and central to all the main spots. it was very clean and breakfast was fantastic - simple but the quality of food was superb (bread, fruit, cheese, etc.), the best hotel breakfast across all the hotels we stayed in, in Vietnam. The staff were SO helpful and accommodating and really went out of their way to help us out, answer our questions and make us feel welcome. I arrived sick and they really took care of me! I would def (and will) recommend this hotel to my friends.

rooftop bar was under repair so I’m sure that will take it to a 10+ experience; only suggestion would be to enable wifi in the breakfast place.

I chose this hotel firstly as we were being dropped off by the bus from Sapa at 10.30pm and it literally was 100mtrs away. Location great, not much after hours noise. Comfy huge bed.

Didn’t love the brekkie, pretty basic but still fine. Don’t expect anything spectacular.

Tough time during atypical heat wave - AC reset itself to 26C in the middle of the night and we got very hot. Our family in other rooms were just fine though!
