The staff went above and beyond to recommend what to do. The roof top bar had great drinks and food. The room was very large and comfortable.

The loud speaker announcement at 7 and 7:30am. They happen at other times throughout day aswell.

Don’t do a lot of reviews, but in this case, I really need to heap glowing praise on La Nueva, Hanoi. I selected this hotel based on the positive review of the staff as well as its location. I did not fail at any step. Right from the warm greeting from Violet at reception, who personally showed me to the room to the other desk staff who were always ready for a genuine chat. The breakfast is filling to say the least and the staff would almost have my morning coffee and scrambled eggs ready as I walked in. You could not fail to be satisfied by the vast array of food available at breakfast. My go to place of an evening was the skybar. With a full menu available from the restaurant on the 12 floor, as well as the spectacular view over Hanoi’s old quarter as well as the lake, the food was very good. The highlight of the bar was the staff. I was welcomed like an old friend every time I was there (stayed 6 nights). The staff would take time out to chat, ask me what I had done for the day and were genuinely interested. The hotel is about 150m from the lake and the whole area is alive with activity, but the hotel is very personal. Love staying at this place.

- I stay in Hanoi a lot, and change and try hotels in the Hoan Kiem area frequently. La Nueva is among the few ones I would consider going back to. - Relatively quiet location, quite unusual for the area. - Decent BF (not grand), very important. - Lovely staff.

I will never understand how some (good 4&5 *) hotels in Hanoi only have Vietnamese coffee, very typical and not for everyone's taste. Just a good normal morning coffee (not even expecting a cappucino or latte) is too much to expect if one pays over $100/night? Did get a cappucino upon asking, but needed to pay separately, prety silly I would think :(

What a lovely find, only a few streets back from the centre of the Old Quatre, by the Lake. Near enough to walk to, but quiet enough to sleep at night, away from the hustle and bustle of exciting Hanoi. Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Nice touches like an alarm clock, robes and slippers, and free fruit bowl on arrival. Fresh bottled water each day and a good little fridge to keep it in. The wonderful restaurant staff even supplied us with milk for our early morning cuppa! Trips were well organised from the hotel, including pick-ups, and these were very reasonable and great value. We did a whole day trip with 4 different attractions included, with a great buffet lunch in the mountains. The coach was a 16 seater, very comfortable and luxurious. A great, local English speaking guide, Alex, was very knowledgeable on the history of Vietnam. It was a very good trip to get a good flavour of the country. The Sky Bar on the roof, next to the restaurant, was fun and a lovely place to unwind at the end of the day. The breakfast buffet was outstanding in choice and standard, too. Must do's from near this location...a rickshaw ride, visiting Train Street and seeing the express rush through with a traditional Vietnam egg coffee( like a tiramasu, delicious), the Red Bus Tour around the city, the Water Puppet Theatre, and a Cookery Class from Aprons Up where you get to buy the local market ingredients and cook 5 famous dishes, including the Pho.All of these are within a 10 minute walk from this little gem of a hotel.

Nothing, it was all excellent. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again when visiting Hanoi. Really good value and such a great location.

Our room was superb with a super comfy very large bed, sitting area, desk and chair and everything we needed for our stay and our room was large. Bathroom a good size with a large shower and rain shower. The room had a colonial feel to it and very clean with perfect amount of wardrobe space. Breakfast on the top floor with amazing views, had many international choices of food to eat, so well organised with very friendly and caring staff, our breakfast was included with the room. Location of the hotel was exactly right especially for pick up and drop off if you are doing a day tour to Ha Long Bay.

Breakfast was high quality. It didn't have an expansive amount of options, but they had something for everyone. Good selection of food. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and spent a lot of time with us answering questions, giving directions, and making us feel comfortable. Excellent location and was in walking distance to many great sites and attractions.

Hanoi is a city that doesn't sleep. The hotel was very quiet, and the room was decently quiet; however, the windows are perhaps a little thin, and a lot of street noise comes through. This is especially noticeable in the early morning (IE. 4AM) when the city starts to come alive again. I would stay at this hotel again, but would likely ask for a room higher up and away from the main street (if that's even possible).

We can’t recommend the hotel enough. The staff are incredibly helpful and when we encountered a problem with our door lock, they immediately fixed it and ensured we felt comfortable with the solution. They were on hand to give us tips about the city and gave us a helpful map to get our bearings. Our room was spacious and the beds were just insanely comfortable! We loved the location and found that we were able to be picked up no problem for tours and were located super close to anything we wanted to visit. Laundry wasn’t too expensive and, was done in a day!!

One lift between 13 floors could be a bit frustrating at times being on the 8th floor, and we found it a little difficult to have a space to get ready as no mirror close to outlets and noise tended to travel between rooms in the vents. Also, we couldn’t manage our own aircon as this was done by the reception so this was a little frustrating to.

Excellent location in the Old Quarter within walking distance to most places and wonderful staff who could not do enough to help. The breakfast buffet was very good in the mornings with lots of variety.

Our room was very small and the view was a brick wall. On reflection, a hotel offering no window would have been fine as the benefit of a window was not really worth the additional money (this is my own view in comparison to other hotels I have stayed in Vietnam). I understand that this is more a reflection of Ha Noi, rather than the hotel which is a building in the Old Quarter.

Oh my gosh! My brother and I (from Scotland) are on a trip through Asia as graduation presents to ourselves, this was our favourite stay so far! The staff were so amazing we felt like celebrities with the treatment we got! Suitcases carried in for us, at check in they gave us a lot of information about things to do and asked what kind of food etc we wanted to try and gave us recommendations which were amazing! The room was clean and spacious, the beds were SOOO comfortable probably one of the best nights sleep I’ve had on this trip so far. Also the aircon was great and actually went right down, most places I’ve stayed the aircon has worked but hasn’t been cold enough. I often find I can’t sleep unless it’s like 18-20 degrees and alot of hotels aircon doesn’t work that well but the one here was great I felt like I was in heaven lol. Location wise I thought it was perfect, really close to everything we wanted to do so we walked to everything. Would defiantly stay here again if I ever visited Hanoi again! Also the view from the rooftop bar was great! The cocktails were also really nice and again the staff were amazing up there. The complimentary breakfast was also pretty good!

Great location, comfy beds, hot shower, good AC, the restaurant is excellent, the breakfast was delicious and the couples massage was relaxing. All the staff greeted us warmly! Our flight came in at 130am and after customs, luggage and getting to the hotel it was already 3am. The staff happily greeted us and checked us in. Thank you for staying up late for us! The location is great. So many things to see, eat and shop. Less than 5 min walk to the lake. 20 min walk to train street. They arranged a car pickup to and from the airport. We had a two night cruise in Ha Long Bay and we were able to leave some of our luggage at the hotel since we were coming back.
