Our stay at Somerton Lodge was delightful from the moment we arrived, we were greeted by John and Anne and made to feel welcome. The room was perfect for our stay on the island.Breakfast was excellent and it was nice to chat to our hosts and find out the various hints to do on the island. We would recommend Somerton Lodge for a peaceful stay on the island. The trains on the island were not running due to an upgrade but the bus service is excellent and the bus stops right outside of Somerton. Excellent location and the Crab pub is a ten minute walk away to get an evening meal. We loved it thanks John and Anne

Nothing it was perfect.

Amazing stay, spacious room, and really comfortable beds. I stayed here with my boyfriend for a long weekend for our first time in the Isle of Wight, and this lodge was a perfect way to set off our holiday. The host was a lovely lady who checked us in and gave us a short tour. Being a nonalcoholic property, she showed us the bar of soft drinks and juices that we could grab and put on a tab to pay later if preferred. They offer a large lounge with TV, morning breakfast, and a cosy garden to sit in the sun. She even gave us a leaflet of all the local bus times and destinations. The bed was extremely comfortable and soft and gave us a great nights sleep. They provide some mugs and a kettle, and a selection of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate with biscuits.

We found the shower a little tight and hard to move in without hitting our elbows and arms on the door, and we think a small tube of toothpaste would have been nice as we didn't bring our own. The sound of the pipes when your neighbour uses the toilet/sink/shoulder is quite loud and woke us up a few times, so if you're a light sleeper, that could be an issue.

The hosts were the nicest people ever, Anne n her hubby made us feel like family, nothing was too much trouble and we are already landing to go again, the best ever anywhere, bed very comfortable, plenty of tea coffee milk sugar n biscuits in the room nice hot shower and lovely breakfast with anything you wanted, it was home from home but waited on with the friendliest people ever, thank you loads Anne xxxxxx♥️

Nothing, it was all good and able to park car easily as I am disabled n plenty of room lots of cafes n pubs near y for a nice evening meal too.

The location, just outside of the town , and with in walking distance to the beach, attractions and pubs . The friendly greeting when we arrived and in the mornings for breakfast, we really enjoyed our time while there . Really nice and peaceful place to stay , thank you appreciate your time and effort to make our stay a pleasant and relaxing one

No complaints really , we were looked after while there, and thank you for that But if I could change one thing it would be For me , a bigger the bed, me being 6ft 4 sharing a double with the wife was a bit of a squeeze. , I’m used to a big bed . So that’s on me not the stay or welcome

Somerton Lodge was lovely and cosy, in a convenient location just a small walk from the village. We honestly weren’t expecting much for the price but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was nice and modern, with amenities like a smart TV, a hair dryer and a dressing table. There was also a lounge with games like chess and a large TV, a nice garden with benches and picnic tables, and there was a small bar with soft drinks and snacks (that operated with an honesty policy) that was very convenient to have on site. We also felt safe, with numerous security cameras around the site, a keypad on the front door and a key to access from the back. What we liked the most though, was how welcoming and hospitable the owners were. John and Ann were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay great, and whenever we needed them they were happy to help. Thank you for making our stay so great!

There wasn’t anything we didn’t really like. The shower was on the smaller side, so it’s worth being aware of if you have limited mobility or have a larger build as it may be a little uncomfortable, but that really is a small note that didn’t actually impact our stay personally.

On arrival we were made very welcome by John & Ann. The lodge was very clean ,light, comfortable and had a relaxed and clam atmosphere. The bedroom was of a good size, tastefully decorated and comfortable. There was a good choice of breakfast menu which was ordered the day before so when you arrived in the morning you were being served in a timely manner. The breakfast food was of a good quality and plentiful. The breakfast room layout was spacious and nicely decorated. Free onsite car parking is available and Free Wi-fi is available throughout with USB charging points all bedrooms.

No towel hooks in the bathroom

Central location to all amenities & to explore the rest of the Island. There is a bus stop right outside if you’re not driving. Secure parking, very quiet and spacious comfortable room made for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was great and is all cooked to order, so very fresh & not sitting around in a warmer for ages! The hosts were lovely & we would definitely recommend Somerton Lodge

Warm welcome on arrival and we were made to feel very welcome. A lovely touch was the card and flowers given to us by the owners as it was our wedding anniversary weekend. It really made our stay and would definitely book again

Pre-ordering of breakfast the day before. Sometimes you just don't know what you want for breakfast until the morning and it seems a little 'old fashioned'. Not a huge problem, it just would have been nicer to be able to choose on the morning in case you fancy something different.

Breakfast was very good (excellent scrambled egg) Room very clean and comfortable. Any thing we needed we just had to ask. John and Ann were very helpful, accommodating and informative of local amenities.

Not a complaint but the breakfast usually has a self service for cereal, juice, yoghurt etc and not having to order it. Although the bedroom was clean and comfortable it would benefit from an update.

the breakfast was great could not fault it. Tea and coffee making in room also good,if stock got low they would fill it up. Plus getting about either by car or walking was very easy.

if i had a grumble it would be about matress on bed as we prefer a harder one than what was on our bed, but that is just us. Apart from that everything was A OK.
