The property is in a great location, very well decorated and has good facilities for a night or twos stay. The room was a good size with everything you would need including tea and coffee, to bathroom accessories and more. The downstairs onsite bar / restaurant was very modern and vibrant, offered a good selection of breakfast and dining options as well as being open late into the night

We were visiting during an off peak time so there weren’t as many staff around. Found ourselves waiting at the front desk a couple times a bit too long but this was quickly addressed.

Perfect location, nicely decorated - great touch of the club/bar downstairs and having a choice of breakfast included within room was great.

The room was insanely hot - it did have an extra large dyson fan, and we turned the radiator off, the heated towel rail and opened the windows but as ladies that had previously showered and done our hair, we had no choice but to re shower due to how hot it was… and we live in Cyprus 😂 I would suggest turning the towel heater off and radiator down in advance of guest arrival or maybe just checking that day how it feels. But it’s not really a complaint, we were laughing….and sweating 😅

Very kind and understanding night staff, the receptionist went above and beyond to find me some bottled water late at night! Cosy room, comfortable bed. Just what we needed for a well needed sleep after a long evening! Bathroom was also very clean which was lovely.

The lock on the room door did not work, when reported i was informed that all the rooms are like that and only way to "secure" the door is with the chain. This made me feel a little uneasy as a solo mom with a newborn! The windows also did not lock.

Excellent location, and friendly welcome. The breakfast included with the room, and served in the beautiful bar area was a highlight. The room was clean and spacious.

The property functions as a nightclub in the basement at weekends. They state this clearly, but be aware. I was in a room at the front, which also doubles as the smoking area. Even with closed windows, it made the room smell of smoke. Fortunately it was much quieter shortly after 1am and I slept well. People who like an early night might struggle!

The property is excellently located, right in the town centre. Breakfast is good quality, the coffee is fantastic. Rooms are decent. It’s good to get air-conditioning in such an old building. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Bathrooms are very small, and the shower would go scolding hot for a quick second every so often. The bedrooms are decent, but the beds are small and the bedding isn’t the best quality.

Shower faulty, kept going very hot - not good in a disabled access room. Mentioned it twice to the receptionist but they didn’t seem hugely interested. Door handle came off in my hand on the first morning. Had to ask for tea/ milk to be replenished in the room as it wasn’t done automatically when the room was serviced every day.

Clean,comfortable, friendly staff, great breakfast. Good position.

Bin lorries collecting the bins in the square outside the Hotel at just after 3 a.m. and another one collecting from another property in the square at 6a.m. resulting in poor night's sleep.

Shame we were given the room with disabled bathroom, broken tiles on the wall, not very glamorous. No one showed us to our room although plenty of staff milling around. The lift button was broken. Although we were rung 1 week before our stay to say there would be noise below us from the bar and restaurant until 2am we weren't told that the room we were allocated had an industrial vent outlet making noise 24/7 outside the window. The view outside the windows from the room wasn't great either....such a shame, all this made the room price of £177 per night, well over the top. Sadly this hotel doesn't come up to the standard of their pricing, I would be hard pushed to recommend it.

What a great location in the heart of the town. The property is beautifully furnished with very comfortable rooms & a warm welcome. The staff were great & the breakfast excellent. I can’t wait to return.

The shower was a little awkward to use as it has been placed at the ‘wrong’ end of the bath, so you have to stand partly on the sloped backrest which isn’t great.

Really nice hotel. They are very busy as they function for private parties as we were guests at one of the parties, which was in the covered courtyard with a private bar. Staff were exceptionally nice and friendly both in reception and the bar. The room was really nice, clean, comfortable with all extras like tea, coffee, and biscuits 😋. Room even had an iron with mini iron board. All together a great hotel in the centre of Hertford.
