The location could not be better, not only is it accessible to all the areas of the city and close to restaurants and tourist areas, but it was perfect for those with mobility problems as there was not the need to climb steep streets back to your hotel. The hotel do not exploit this prime location, remaining good value and providing a high standard of customer service. Not only

No drop-off area for unloading. The taxi drivers went mad, when you stop for a minute to take luggage from the car! The housekeeping service for cleaning the room was very late, even when we left at 8am or 9am and requested that it be done. The front desk were very helpful and apologetic but the housekeeping team were not responding.

Amazing views from our room with a terrace! Pretty decent wifi, hot water and comfortable bed.

Having to pay for left luggage and to pay for weighing your luggage is ridiculous. I thought the receptionist was joking when he said there is a charge for weighing our luggage on our way out to the airport. That kinda left a bad taste. When you nickel and dime at a fine property like this, you tell the customer, the focus isn't the guests but the bottom line.

1. The roof terrace room with river view was so perfect Breakfast was nice, plenty of choice. Service was absolutely perfect.

1. First we booked a suite, somehow i figured a suite was the one with the view. Unfortunately it wasnt, our room was looking into a dark yard and a wall (the picture with a wall :D). This was so dissappointing and i didnt feel comfortable in this room, eventhought the room was spacious and not bad. Luckily we were able to change the room for the last day and night and it gave the vacation an absolute new vibe, the view was amazing (the photo with anamazing view). We spent basically the whole afternoon sitting on the terrace, eating strawberrys, cheese and other snacks, enjoying the view and sun. 2. Some details really need an upgrade or refreshment.

Clean corporate modern . Air con, lifts, double glazing, tv with plenty of English speaking channels, large shower . Taxi rank right outside in the heart of the cities attractions .

Lacking in personality, only three hangers for a double room, no milk to make tea and coffee.

Loved the location, The staff were so helpful and pleasant.

We stayed in a normal room the first night, it was really noisy, so we did not get much sleep. Then we moved to a suite for 2 nights thinking it would be quieter, it was a fine big room, but again, didn't get much sleep either because of the constant noise of traffic, sirens etc. The last night we moved to a different room, think 307, then I just realised it had a new window, which kept out the noise. We have friends going to Porto from Ireland and will be asking us for hotel recommendations.

Location of course.

It’s not about like or dislike. I noticed that my reservation doesn’t include basic equipment like slippers,so I checked reception if any way I can have a pair or even buy. Reception told they don’t have slipper but I can buy from grocery store nearby. And I did buy one. However after few days when I got chance changing to a river view room, I saw slippers are provided. Not sure if it’s hotel policy that they cannot “sell” slippers to customer, but if the reception could be honest and tell they have slipper but cannot be sold to me, I can understand and feel better. In all the hotel is good and staff are nice and helpful.

The location was fabulous. Very close to Douro River and easy walking to many local attractions. As long as you can walk hills. The staff was also very nice and accommodating. The room and bed were very comfortable, but not elaborate. That being said, we don't usually book rooms for amenities.

The 2 main items that kept me from giving the hotel a higher rating were 1) Bath/Shower. The sides on the tub were very high which made it difficult for someone with short legs and hip tightness to step over the top SAFELY. The design made it difficult to also turn on the water, and nothing to grasp entering and exiting. HIGH SLIP RISK! And we are a very active senior couple. 2) Breakfast options. The only option was a very large buffet breakfast which seemed popular for many. But there were no smaller less expensive options other than room service. And we prefer a light breakfast. Also, there were no good morning coffee options other than instant coffee in the room, or walking down to the restaurant and requesting a paper cup.

Location was excellent albeit a bit noisy however this is to be expected on a busy road. It did not stop us getting a good night's sleep. We were delighted to find how close we were to the hustle and bustle of the river cafés and entertainment. I asked for an iron and this promptly delivered to my room even though the request was late on the evening. The lifts could be a bit slow but this wasn't an issue if you're fit enough to use the stairs as we did on occasion.

Only one small thing - There was no milk supplied in the room for a cup of tea or coffee.

Location was great and reception staff is very friendly. I had a perfect room with a terrace, however it was hail and rain, but i managed to enjoy the view too)) Room was clean, beds were comfy, it was rather quiet during the nights. It is 2 minutes walk from the river, the cafes, and everything is basically reachable on foot.

The breakfast room appears to be too small to fit everyone (and it also has only one elevator to reach it), so people get queued at the entrance for 5-10 minutes in the morning. Light in the bathroom is somewhat horrible))) The rest was ok - I would totally stay there again.

Excellent location for all the city sights, shopping etc, lovely view of the river from our room. Room was on 2 floors with plenty of space. Lovely big bed and modern bathroom, with lovely large soft towels.

There were a couple of things that could have been better; the door locking system didn’t seem to be working as good as it should, there was no full length mirror, we couldn’t get the shower to change to the large shower head and the shower leaked a bit. The hairdryer was a typical hotel one where you need to continuously press it to work which was very frustrating.
