The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was ideally located and in easy reach of lovely restaurants and the beach. We were more than pleased with our room. We had a wonderful view of the sea. My husband said he could sit there all day just watching the sea and the people. The shower was lovely and easy to use. The food was good and very reasonable priced. If ever we return to Torquay I would certainly stay there again and ask for the same room.
The pillows were not very comfortable and the sliding shower door was a bit wobbly. We paid extra for breakfast which was fine. As I am not keen on bacon, sausage and hash browns I was a little disappointed when I ordered just scrambled egg and mushroom that I wasn't given a bit more of both having paid for a full breakfast, as in other hotels I have been given extra scrambled egg.

Good freshly cooked breakfast each day, options bacon, sausage, mushroom, tinned tomato, hash brown, choice of egg,poach/fried/scrambled and beans Option to swap items, meat for meat etc. Choice of cereals, juices and hot drinks, toast with choice of jams and marmite. Paid a little extra and stayed in Room 1,which was massive, double bed, single bed, large table and chairs, plenty of storage space, comfortable sofa with loads of cushions and large flatscreen tv,Spotless shower and wc.
Just a minor point due to the location of Room 1,when the music is on in the bar at night, its not loud but you get the thump of the bass until the bar shuts at 11pm

I loved having some respite from caring for my mum, I stayed in Room 19, lovely room, too big for me, but it just worked out that way. Staff so amenable & looked after me. I only live in Brixham but I will be back, I really appreciated & enjoyed the peace and quiet
Nothing. I shoulda taken more care when leaving as I left somethings behind, Lovely lad looked everywhere for me - not anyones fault but mine for being a fool. Lesson learned. Lovely views, nice clean linens, lots of towels and amenities in the room, I took the Bible! (Mistake) I’ll drop it back, Promise - so Rm 19 has no Bible, why do we still do that! There are more Muslims in the world and Hindus, so why no Quran? And who’s repping the tooth fairy these days? Flat-earthers? Seems very exclusionary, to only have a Christian book. A star map better for me, the stars over the bay are gorgeous and where so last night

I like the location you can park the car for free , we had a room with a sea view. I liked the breakfast in the morning and very friendly staff.
Okay, things to improve on. The room was looking a little dated the bathroom in Room 21. They'd have a water leak, at the back of the sink, the shower was very poor pressure no socket by the bed i use medical equipment that needs to be plugged in. Sometimes the room was a little cold. And my wife would have liked a full-sized mirror. But I do understand for the price point we paid. You do have to be understanding, but this is positive criticism. the tea and biscuits in the room and the sea view. We could definitely overlook it

Stunning views, big comfy rooms, great staff ...Roddy, Stacey, Libby and the Girls in the restaurant were a delight and so lovely to me ..the Brekky Room has an amazing view and the food is delicious .... great choices. This is the second time I've stayed at The Heritage for 10 nights, and I would stay again..wonderful value. It's a beautiful old and historic building, tho the rooms are renovated. It's great to have a menu that is available all day/evening too....it's very central and Torquay is very walkable from here. Thank you all for my great memories 😀🙏🩵
Liked it all.

First time staying at the heritage although we've been to Torquay numerous times, very friendly staff especially the man on reception, good breakfast & flexible times ,,about 10 min walk to harbour which we don't mind the walk ,no good if you have walking aid problems as there is quite a few steps to hotel & there aren't any lifts in hotel ,but not a problem for us ,we stayed in room 22 first floor, road view ,but lovely spacious room which I would stay in again , toiletries & biscuits in room ,nice little touch ,we had a lovely stay & would definitely return our beds were comfy and everything clean ,we would recommend staying here ,thanks for a lovely stay
We went in December ,if I had to be picky ,the room was cold in morning, but I think if I had addressed it ,it would of been sorted ,but we weren't in the room for long

The hotel was really lovely. Staff were great and really nice location. Very comfy bed and great shower.
The only thing for me was that my room was carpark lever and overlooking carpark. This meant that when the laundry/bin lorry's backed up, it was quite noisy at times early in the morning. Also, the bin store/bottle bin was next to my bedroom window. It was quite noisy when the bottle bins were emptied in the morning. This was only an issue for me as I often didn't get in from work till after midnight, so being woken up so early was a little bit of a nuisance. Also, I had to be very careful and make sure I'd shut all the curtains when I showered. Otherwise, everything was great.

Friendly & helpful staff, good facilities, good price for the night, clean rooms. Beds were extremely comfortable and very welcome after a 4-5 hour drive. Located right by the beach and near plenty of attractions, restaurants and sights. Food was tasty and hot, breakfast which was included despite the low price hit the spot before another long day!
My only 'dislike' was that the shower kept fluctuating between hot and cold/warm, didn't affect my overall experience though & the person I visited with (who had a separate room) had no such complaints about the shower!

Location is perfect, just off of the seafront, and in walking distance to the centre. The staff are incredibly friendly, and bubbly, with nothing being to much trouble. I have stayed at this hotel several times, and as a women staying on their own can be a little worrying being on your own. However, I always feel safe to stay here, and would choose this hotel each time I stay in the area. Food is delicious, I have had dinner in the bar/restaurant several times, and is always very nice. Breakfast has a nice selection available, and the cooked breakfast is delicious.
The room directly above the bar area can be a little noisy, and as a light sleeper it doesn't work well for me. Doesn't mean everyone would have the same issue. The hotel has accommodated my request though, so wasn't an issue for me on my recent stay.

The location, view , staff and food
The parking. If you don't get a space outside the hotel you have to pay for the carpark next door which is £10 for 24 hours. The point is the general public was using the hotel car park then walking off into town. They also have swimming lessons on in the hotel which the spaces are being used by parents. I feel the hotel carpark should be used for people staying at the hotel, and other people use the car park next door.
