Very well maintained facilities. We used the pool and sauna daily. The room was immaculate and the view was to die for. The location, close to borough market and London bridge station, was also wonderful. I especially enjoyed their WhatsApp concierge. You can ask for help anytime with a text message and all can be arranged for you.

5% discretionary cleaning fee daily… it should be free in a 5 star hotel.

It’s a tremendous deal in living such a fabulous, convenient, glamorous and beautiful place.

Bath tub is too small for 2. But the view is wonderful. If it’s changed to a Jacuzzi that will be terrific.

The views

The hotel is stunning - well clean and new rooms BUT mostly is the VIEW! I would not leave my room if I could! The pool was okay - looks bigger in pictures. Also the water was pretty cold, they could put it warmer. The sauna with the view of London 10/10. Unfortunately the staff was not great, not a staff of 5 stars hotel! Very unprepared, mostly VERY SLOW. Slow in finding a solution, slow in be efficient. I got the wrong room 3 times, I had to wait over 2h to get the right room. At breakfast they staff was super slow in coming around to take the order and bring the coffee. 1/10 is the TING restaurant - awful service, very inexperienced staff, very rude - taking the wrong orders, bringing to the table and mistaking what dish or drink it was. Forced to leave a plate of the table that we didn’t order. AWFUL. The guy was expressly rude and unprofessional!! Very very unhappy about that considering was the dinner of my birthday. Good thing? The view of the restaurant obviously. The food average too. Disappointing the service and the staff

The views from the hotel are phenomenal! On the 43rd floor our room had views of the Thames, eye of London, st. Paul's Cathedral and much more! Location is excellent being right next to London Bridge metro and train station it's easy to get around London. The staff were also fantastic and always around to answer questions and help out when needed! It was also soo lovely to have a bathtub with such a fantastic view! It was hard to leave! Will certainly be returning!

The pillows were not very comfortable. Even the firmest pillows offered were quite soft and didn't make for a great sleep. The switches in the rooms were numerous and keeping which does what straight took a couple of days to get right!

Room had a good view from the bedroom and the bathroom and was located next to London Bridge Station. Plenty of room to move and lounge around.

The bathroom sink area was a bit cluttered where it was positioned. Whilst the room had good views, it was spoiled by the dirty windows. Thankfully the windows were cleaned on our second last day (so it was probably luck of the draw) however there was one window in the bathroom left untouched. Whilst that didn't take from the main view, you can't help but notice it when you look out the side. There was this thing that we noted with the hospitality staff (bar and restaurant) and that is that you would struggle to get a smile or a good morning or something out of them. Either stuffy or miserable. we couldn't work it out so we gave up.

We ended our honeymoon with a luxurious stay at the Shangri-La in The Shard, and it was the perfect way to wrap up our trip. Our main reason for visiting London was to attend the Formula 1 Opening Ceremony at The O2, and as luck would have it, the Ferrari F1 team was staying at the hotel as well! The team at the Shangri-La went above and beyond, decorating our room for our honeymoon and leaving us thoughtful chocolates and gifts. The views were spectacular, and the service was exceptional. This was the perfect place to celebrate the final days of our honeymoon, and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended for a luxury stay in London!

The service at the Shangri-La is exceptional. Upon arrival, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the front desk staff, who made the check-in process seamless. The concierge team was incredibly attentive and happy to assist with any requests. They were knowledgeable about local attractions, restaurants, and even provided thoughtful recommendations for sightseeing.The room was absolutely stunning. The modern and sleek design of the space blended with elegant touches that make it feel both luxurious and comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a view that was almost too beautiful to be real. The attention to detail was evident in everything, from the plush bedding to the high-end amenities.

The hotel offered modern facilities and spacious rooms, with a good selection of breakfast options. While the gym was somewhat basic, it was still serviceable. Overall, a decent stay.

I was disappointed with the room cleaning service. Despite one cleaner visiting my room twice, I still found debris on the floor two days later. However, after reporting the issue to reception, the next housekeeper did a much better job. Considering the price, I expect a higher standard of cleanliness and professionalism from the staff."

Be in no doubt, the Shangri-la is as much tourist attraction as it is hotel. Staff were very friendly at reception upon checking in. Delighted with the complementary upgrade & that first sight of the city does not disappoint. Nice comfortable big bed but pillows were a bit miserable! Great big bathroom & good shower. The breakfast was top class & was everything we were after. Staff again were great, seating us by the window without us asking & willing to have chat. As an experience, it's fantastic but given the price it really is special occasions only I'm afraid.

Putting TV right in front of the main view was a bit of a design flaw! Not having additional pillows & having to call down for some was a hassle. That being said, they were very nice about it. The sneaky optional service charge on check out. You need your wits about you, or you'll end up paying more! There is not much the hotel can do, but some guests' behaviour left a lot to be desired.
