The room was very nice and clean, uncluttered but not too sparse and I loved the fun wall colors and decorations. The front desk staff were very helpful and kind.

The service at the hotel bar was not great.. they were out of a lot of things on their food menu and were not helpful at all when we asked what they DO have available. We also had to wait a very long time once we did manage to place an order, and they wouldn’t even make eye contact with us when we went to the bar to ask what was going on w our order.

This is the perfect hotel for wandering through the old town, shopping districts and seeing the amazing array of churches. The breakfast was exceptional, the rooftop bar was great for our lunch, and we could see it was very popular in the evenings when the weather was good. The most amazing thing about Mama Shelter is the exceptionally accommodating and friendly staff. The rooms were fine and quiet, with good showers, plenty of room, a mini fridge and excellent beds.

The entry to the hotel was very dark at night. It's a safe area, but it needs to be perked up a bit.

Our room on the 3rd floor, nr. 314, had a fantastic large window with beautiful view on old roofs and sky, with trillions of swallows flying agains light blue background - amazing, this window right in front of the bed! The shower was great: strong water jet, no leaking into the bathroom. 'Real' soap. Breakfast on the roof: beautiful view, nice atmosphere, good food (self-made veggy juice appreciated) and sympathetic staff.

For two guests, not enough towels. Also, it would be nice to find Kleenex box and mineral water.

The location was great for exploring the old city.

Getting there by car is very confusing especially when we didn’t get the email about how to access the closed street. We drove in circles for considerable time before figuring it out. Next day our code to get in the city center was invalid and we couldn’t reach the hotel by phone. Getting into the garage was a test of both skill and patience.

A lovely stay - we got a free upgrade to a medium room, they wrote happy birthday on the mirror and the room was clean, spacious and the bed was comfy. The staff were friendly and we really enjoyed having a drink on the rooftop bar. Location was great walking distance from the centre.

There was a bottle of water in the fridge which I thought was free but they charged about 4 euros for it. There should have been a sign to say that this bottle cost money. Also, the area outside of the hotel smells and there quite a lot of homeless people.

I liked the communal space on the entrance level. It felt very welcoming at all times. Our room was very small but had everything you need. The location is very central in Bordeaux and made it very easy to walk all over town. There were plenty of eating opportunities near by. We also had dinner and breakfast at the Mama Shelter and it was good. I would consider staying in other Mama Shelters in the future.

I don't think that anything needs improving.

Had a nice funky vibe and a nice rooftop bar. The staff were very helpful and informative. The bed was large and comfortable with many alternatives for lighting effects.

Being in the old town it is inaccessible to Uber-like transportation but taxis can get to it. The tram stations are a bit of a walk if you're over 70. The music is often too loud in the morning and at dinner.

Great location Chose a bigger room so was perfect otherwise would have been a bit right. Restaurant on site and on the Friday night they had good dancing music on This time we had views on the cinema...much nicer than the Monoprix side.

Restaurant gets booked up, could not get a table on the Saturday. Booking in advance advised!

Great staff, Great Vibe, Nice restaurant, Good location

In the room, there was no possibility to make a coffee, when switching on the bathroom light, also the sink room light would switch on. This sink room is open plan, so when I went to the bathroom during the night, I my companion had to weak up as well from the lights.

Excellent location, room exactly as described. Chromecast very handy and easy to use. Great rooftop bar to have a drink or dinner in. Cool aesthetic throughout. Staff at front desk were very nice.

Breakfast was overpriced for what it was. Quite noisy from bar as we were on 4th floor, could have done with more soundproofing.
