Great location , very quiet , couple of good pubs alongside. Very clean .
Suggest a light on the steps going into boat as it’s tricky to see in wet and dark . A chopping board / bread board and toaster would be useful. The basin hot water in the bathroom is extremely hot , suggest thermostat is reduced or a warning sign especially if children have access to this … The heaters needed to be on nearly continuously ( outside temperature was 0 to 5 degrees) in order to maintain a comfortable day and night ambiance. A small side table for use besides the couch would have been nice to place a cup or glass on .

It's a unique space if you want something different to a hotel or apartment. It is well equipped and quite cosy. We stayed in January, but I imagine it's great in warmer weather by the water.
It's not far from the city centre and station but the walk is around a lot of big busy roads so we tended to go into the Best Western Quays hotel which is 1 min walk and book taxis which are very affordable and easy to book. There is a bar on the Quays which I imagine would be busy and noisy in the summer. I felt a little nervous that anyone could walk on to the boat as although the main living quarter's were obviously secured with a locked 'front door', the entrance is just zipped canvas, which you step onto from the quay. There's no facility for left luggage, which I understand, and if you're in a car, it isn't an issue but was a bit of a hassle for us.

I've always wanted to stop on a boat and decided to book this for my Husband's birthday. It is ideally located in Sheffield city centre. It's a short walk from the train station and the main shopping area. The owner sent very clear instructions on how to get here .The boat was very clean and comfortable. The heaters were on when we arrived so it was lovely and cozy and there are blankets to get snuggled on the sofa. The bed was really comfortable. We got woken up by the ducks the next morning. It was just a lovely place to stay
It could do with a couple of baking trays to cook food in the oven if you are staying in. We wanted to cook pastries in the oven for breakfast so we had to use the grill pan. You also need bottled water if you want to have juice to drink as it's suggested you don't drink the tap water unless it is boiled

From check in to check out everything as sorted perfectly. I had clear directions and a parking permit. I knew exactly what facilities were there, the boat was clean, and every was provided as stated. More importantly I felt safe and secure. Thank you. I will definitely be back 😊🙏
The only thing I would suggest (and I totally accept this is a personal preference) maybe a small folding table near the sofa - somewhere to put a coffee or glass of something when curled up on the sofa watching telly or reading.

The owner communicated well with us and gave great directions and instructions, so we had no trouble at all in finding the boat and getting on board. The location was really nice. Very quiet at night. A great pub, cafe and pizza restaurant a few yards away. The boat was really sweet and very cozy: fairly roomy inside and well laid out. I stayed with my daughter for one night and we both really enjoyed our stay. I slept in a double bed and my daughter had one of the bunk beds. I'm only 5ft tall and slept OK on my own. But there is no way my husband could have been comfortable in the double with me as he's over 6ft. And it's also not a wide bed. There is also a double bed that can be made up in the dinette. Our host had left us tea, coffee and 2 bottles of water, which we appreciated as it was not recommend to drink the water from the tap. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the houseboat. It would be worth checking what entertainment was on at the Dorothy Pax pub, as it would be a great evening canalside.
It's a shame that it has such a small fixed double bed with the boat being a wide beam. The mattress was quite soft. I think the bed would be uncomfortable for two larger adults. The only other slight frustration was the really squeaky toilet door with meant nightime loo trips woke up the whole boat! Lol!

The boat had everything you would and wouldn't expect; it was deceptively spacious. The beds were cosy (kids loved their bunk beds!), clean and the shower were decent. Great location - there's a very convenient cafe next door. The boats looked lovely from the outside too, with its blue and white coloured bunting! A nod to one of the biggest football clubs in the country no doubt. We had a fantastic stay, our kids didn't want to leave!

A unique accommodation on a canal boat moored at a quay very near the city center. Quite fun! Spotlessly clean and run by a charming host. If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, go elsewhere. But if you are in the mood for something different in a great location with all needs met, give this houseboat a try! There’s an easy to understand guide to the facilities on the boat. Included parking is right at the boat and directions to access are complete and simple. Nearby pubs and cafes. If you go, and you see owner Mark around the boats in the morning, talk to him! He is friendly with loads of stories and information and can tell you all about the boats. Our first visit to Sheffield, an interesting city with lots of history and many restaurants, pubs and historical sights. We hope to be back!
Nothing, wonderful stay

Fantastic stay, was very clean, beds were super comfortable we had such a lovely nights sleep. Great location, so so pretty at night. Thank you so much!
The only negative thing which wasn't really a problem was that I wasn't told that the cafe's along the quays weren't open on a Sunday morning. If I'd have known I probably would have purchased some breakfast bits from a local supermarket the night before and made a nice little breakfast in the boat because that would have been really really lovely you have all the neccessaties there to do so but like I said not an issue 🙂

The quirkiness of a houseboat appealed , got everything you need for a weekend stay . Centrally located at Victoria Quay, walking distance to city centre or Kelham island . Cafe , and 2 bars , restaurant located just along the quay . Very quiet at night . Comfortable , got everything you need in the kitchen . Bed was comfortable to sleep . Access to the quay and boat was easy following detailed instructions sent before hand . Now we have tried a houseboat we would think about hiring one that moves 😀
Not much .

I was looking for a unique experience within Sheffield city centre when I stumbled upon this Houseboat Hotels. Stayed for just one night with my partner to celebrate birthday and I loved it very much. There are 2 boats to choose from, which is just next to each other and a parking was provided right in front of the boat. I was worried if it would be cold inside but the heating was perfect all throughout the boat. There was one double bed, one bunk bed, and a sofa (probably a sofa bed), which I’d say would be comfortable up to 4 people to stay. There was a stove and oven to cook with complete set of kitchen utensils and also fridge. Bed was made upon arrival and towels were provided. They provided an instruction before checking-in and left a simple instruction sheet that explains on how to use the stove, shower, etc.
There was no paper towel or sponge, which we had to bring our own, but dishwasher was provided. There was also no extra toilet paper if it runs out. But other than that, everything was clean and perfect!
