My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming B&B, and I must say, it was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by Cath, the incredible host. Her friendly and hardworking nature truly made our stay memorable. The room we stayed in was large and impeccably clean, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style. The en-suite bathroom was equally spacious and spotless, making our stay even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub on the balcony. We spent our evenings soaking in the hot tub while taking in the spectacular view – it was truly a breathtaking experience. Each morning, Cath prepared a wonderful breakfast tailored to our requests. Whether it was a full English breakfast or something lighter, everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Cath’s dedication to going the extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyable did not go unnoticed. We left feeling refreshed and pampered, and we’re already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with fantastic hospitality, look no further. We will definitely be back!

Me an my husband liked everything about this place . The host Catherine was a lovely lady made us feel at home really good company lovely to talk to nothing was too much for her . The property was 1000 % excellent accomadation large room with super king sized bed superb bathroom with huge shower .a large balcony outside the room with a hot tub an lovely farmland scenery .also a huge dining area an lounge area with leather couches an huge tv . Breakfast was a must from cereal fresh fruit yogurt fruit juice tea an coffee toast an jams an aswel as all that a choice of hot food including full scottish breakfast . What more could you ask for excellent stay worth every penny great value for money . Will defo be going back an would reccommend .

Believe all the reviews! This place is heaven on earth. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are just great. Cath was super friendly. The breakfast was delicious. Cath made us a full vegetarian cooked breakfast, it was out of this world. The dining room is really special. Everything is decorated beautifully. Thank you so much for a great start of our holiday. We will definitely be coming back!

Backbrae House is exceptional.....a Jewel in Cainwath The House is beautiful & set in an idealic location with outstanding views. The facilities were perfect - comfortable, cosy & quiet. The owner was more like a friend with excellent knowledge of the area. We loved staying at Backbrae House & we both agreed it was the best B&B we had ever stayed in.

Everything about this place, it's location is remote but perfect within travelling distance to places, Catherine is an amazing woman, couldn't do enough for us, she cooked the most amazing brekkie for us, the choice from cereal,fruit,toast,jams,fruit juice it was all there.. you would be daft not to stay here for sure, can't wait to rebook

There is nothing we didn't like about this place

Owner Cathy is lovely. Breakfast - full Scottish - was huge! Lots of yogurts and fruit too. Superking 6ft bed, Hot tub on balcony..

It was May and as the weather was very warm, the bedroom became too warm and unfortunately the duvet was more of a winter one. I think a thin summer duvet option would be good idea.

Very friendly, wonderful host; Catherine made us feel at home! Loved her positive energy! Quiet, clean bedroom. Excellent and delicious breakfast.

Need to know: Remote location, 12 miles to convenient train station to go to Edinburgh. Limited dinner options close by.

We liked everything about this place , cath was a brilliant host the house was big and beautiful the room was amazing .the hot tub was great and the breakfast was brilliant we weekend away a few times a year and I would have to say that this is the best place we have stayed at yet will definitely be back in fact we are going to book it for my birthday

On first arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner Katherine and her dog Millie and throughout our stay our host was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The house was tastefully furnished and very clean. The bed was also very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep.In the morning Katherine made the most delicious breakfast of which she takes great pride in and we would definitely stay again.

Wow, wow, WOW!! Stayed here at the weekend for our wedding anniversary and the only complaint we truly have is that we didn’t book for more than one night. The house itself is stunning and so homely. Bedroom is massive and so comfortable! The setting is beautiful. The garden area was perfect to sit and chill out in the sunshine. And the hot tub on the balcony…. Perfection. Catherine and Millie were the most amazing hosts and nothing was too much bother. Breakfast was freshly made and cooked to perfection. We even got a massive bag of plums from the garden and a big hug as we left. Loved every minute. Will definitely be back!
