Very good value for money. There was a number to call on arrival and the lady at the end of the phone was very helpful and talked us through accessing the room. Good tea and coffee facilities (with biscuits). Very clean. Spacious room with comfortable beds. We would definitely revisit. Thank you.

The location was great! It's very close to the beautiful park&playground so kids can have a play too. 10 min to get to the central of York and 3 min to yummy bakery and cafes. Nice kitchen downstairs. However, I didn't know I could use it until the last evening. Heating is available in the bedroom, which was a bonus when we stayed as it was very cold.

Small room and quite packed with a lot of furniture. No one really needs that. It is only for short stays if you are with kids as everyone is in one small room. There was a really bad smell in the hallway! I think someone was vaping.

Nice room, I really appreciated the extras, hot drinks bottles of water, toiletries. I especially appreciated the fan and mini fridge in this hot weather. I travel a lot and would definitely re book. Super clean and nice bedding.

Just minor things. The mattress on the bed could do with changing soon. It was comfortable and I slept well but in places you can feel the springs. Toilet seat lid drops when you sit on the toilet, needs a simple adjustment.

The self check-in service was completely straightforward and was a smooth process taking a matter of minutes. The communication beforehand was really good, ensuring that everything was in place for our arrival. The room (which was on the ground floor) and bathroom were clean which I was pleased about and the bed was comfortable. The window wasn't well soundproofed so you could hear outside traffic but it is on what I think is a main road so it's to be expected and, to be fair, the noise of traffic quietened down soon after it got dark so it wasn't a major issue at all. Plenty of towels provided which was great and there was a soft bench and dresser available which was also nice. The bed was comfortable so me and my 8-year old son (we shared a double bed) slept well. The complimentary tea/coffee, sugar and two bottles of water alongside complimentary shower gel and shampoo & conditioner was a nice addition. My only gripe is that there is no charging socket near the bed so you have to use either the socket behind the wardrobe or a socket on the extension lead near the dresser. But that certainly wouldn't stop me from staying with Diamonds Guest House again the next time I'm in York! ☺️

Great value for money. Easy check in, easy to find, nice location (15 min walk to the centre), little fridge in the nice spacious room was a touch, good pub opposite (the Winning Post), the room had everything needed for a weekend break in York at a reasonable price including a private bathroom.

Having to pay daily for parking but never mind, it was easy to do, obviously just wish it was free. Not the most comfy bed in the world but acceptable. I would definitely stay here again.

Good walking distance from the town, I had a quiet room to the back. Room had everything one needs for a few nights, albeit it was a bit tight with three beds in it. I was travelling on my own so I could use the extra beds as 'storage' area, three people with three suitcases will be very tight.

I had provided my arrival time, and when I got there, I had to call someone to provide me with the details of how to get into the room (not having a British sim card, meant an expensive international call). I would have prefered to receive the access details by email beforehand. Other than that it is a good place to stay and everything was perfect.

We booked a double room with a private bathroom. When we arrived, we had to ring the doorbell twice before a man (presumably an employee and that was the only time we encountered anybody else inside the building) let us in and led us to our room on the ground floor. We went through the kitchen and a few doors to reach the room. It was much larger than our needs, with 4 beds. It's not a complaint though. The room and bathroom were cold during our stay there, but for the room, there were electrical heaters to address that. Diamonds Guest House is in an area I would consider just outside York city. This meant long walks to get to and from the city's main attractions. It's good exercise for us, but it can be tough if you're not accustomed to that much walking, especially at the end of a long day. The guest house showed its age, but it was clean and served well as our base in York.

The bathroom was spacious and clean, but it was also very cold when we were there because it had no heating. Being somebody who does poorly when it's cold, I needed to be quick and deliberate when using the bathroom.

Clean room and bathroom facilities. Tea and coffee provided and some bottles of water which we were very grateful for as it was such a hot day and night. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding and towels were spotlessly clean. We arrived late at night and I had been provided with everything I needed to find the right parking spot, access the front door and the bedroom door. I also loved the old fireplace in the room as it kept some of the history of the building and made me think about the building's use over the years.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

I had a wonderful stay at Diamonds Guest House. My room was spacious and I had my own private bathroom. The shower worked very well. The staff was amazing! Ismael helped me to charge my phone when my adapter didn't work. His sister, Kay, spent quite some time helping me make some bookings online. It's a family run operation and they go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable.

There was really nothing I didn't like except perhaps that you couldn't use the stove top. But there was access to the microwave, toaster and electric water kettle.
