The staff were exceptionally friendly on arrival. The manager showed us around and explained how to gain entry after hours plus how to self check out in the morning. This made everything really simple for us. Rooms were lovely and has everything we needed. The bar staff were very accommodating and we were made to feel very welcome. The location is beautiful. When we woke in the morning and looked out, we could have been in Paris, looking at the boats on the water. Breakfast next door was perfect, great service, took care of our large group efficiently and food was perfect, with a 25% discount. One of our group left their keys in the room and because staff were cleaning them immediately on check out, they rang to let us know before we had gone too far from the hotel. The city location was perfect for our purpose in York and meant we could access everywhere we needed within 10 minutes walk. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend. You just need to not mind stairs as rooms are accessed by two flights which was fine for our group.

The staff were absolutely amazing with us, making sure to greet us when we went down to the bar. A special thanks to Elise who made us feel very welcome during our stay. The hotel is so close to the city centre and it was a nice surprise to find out the York dungeons were only about 100m away when we headed out to them. The bar underneath was very convenient and the discount on food and drink was definitely appreciated. We arrived earlier than check-in so decided to grab some food downstairs which was lovely. I do wish we added an extra night as we really enjoyed both York and the accommodation.

The ceilings were a little low in the rooms and the rooms are a little cozy, however it wasn't that big of a deal and I don't think it would impact on short-stay guests.

I liked that the hotel was close to the town, the room was quite small but it, was clean & warm, it had an iron & ironing board, hairdryer & smart tv we made use of them all, we was able to freshen up & have a comfortable nights sleep the bed was very comfortable, & a nice view from the window

Unfortunately there is no parking at the hotel so you need to add the car park charges onto the cost of your stay, the car park is a short walk from the hotel, it cost us £30 in car park charges, for the weekend. The internet connection was not good in our room, which made it difficult to watch the tv ,we had to ask a member of staff to help, us with the tv, she was very helpful & came to our room straight away & managed to sort it out so we could watch the smart tv. The bar downstairs stays open till late & you can hear the music from downstairs in the room but it didn’t really keep us awake,

The views were amazing and the room was large and the bed was comfortable. It was good that you get 25% off food and drink whilst staying there and also at other places.

Unfortunately the evening staff were not as friendly and helpful as the day time staff. I ordered food for my evening meal and I couldn't eat it as the mushroom was just dripping with grease and not one staff member asked if I was enjoying my meal...I even had to clean my own table away from glasses and plates. I did say I couldn't eat the meal but nothing was said about this...I would have appreciated something back as I payed for a meal I couldn't eat. Also I struggle with my mobility on occasions and found the stairs difficult...no lift option.

Great river front location. Boat cruise leaves directly outside. 5 mins walk into town, across the road from the theatre too. Staff very friendly and helpful, stayed 2 nights mid week. Shower was fab, room very clean. Bedding and towels pristine, got discount on food and drinks from sister river front bars next door too.rooms are accessed via back of building up 2 sets of stairs, no lift so bear that in mind.

Room was a little on small side but for what paid was great value for money, was given ear plugs on arrival which made me a bit nervous, but bar music stopped at reasonable hour so no complaints really at all.

The hotel has a great location right at the riverside, and the views are lovely. Elise, the manager, was very helpful, showed us around, and explained everything about the hotel. The room is a good size, nicely decorated and clean, the bed was comfortable, and we slept well, would definitely stay again.

The room could do with more drawers, as we lived out of our cases, the bathroom could do with a shower mat and face cloths. The room was a bit noisy, but we did know about that, and it really didn't bother us. We slept through it.

The bed was comfortable. The location is great and the price is value for money. The manageress showed me to the room. She was friendly and really helpful. I knew it wouldn't be a quiet room but I'm a good sleeper so it didn't bother me that I could hear music from the bar when I came back to the room. Earplugs are also provided.

The bathroom needed a bit more attention. There was a smell which could just be the drains. The way in through the back yard isn't too inviting but again it didn't bother me.

The location is fantastic and very well priced for the location staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again

The bar downstairs was excellent but was open till early hours of the morning. As we are in our sixties we cannot keep partying till the early hours like we used to. But the hotel does state this on booking.com it wasn’t a major thing and if I was younger it would have been perfect

Great location, and the staff, we're amazing.

There was no cold water from the bathroom sink. The shower cubicle wasn't draining the water away... and to top it all off, we never had a spoon to stir me cup of tea with. We did see a manager, possibly the owner on our checkout, who was grateful of our feedback. The rooms had only been opened a week, so yeah, there will be teething problems. Would I go back?? For the price we paid, I'd definitely go back ❤️
