Clean rooms, comfy beds & pillows, excellent breakfast, peaceful location, views from the terrace, the exquisite decor of the apartment and the lady in charge who is very informative, caring and nice to talk to.

Since we didn't have a car, we had to rely on public transport which was not great at all. We would have appreciated if we were informed earlier about trains not operating. Not all the replacement buses stopped at this remote location. Also, the only local restaurant in the area served really bad food at very high prices. There were no other options for restaurants in this remote location unless you have a car to go to the nearby town.

We had a wonderful time at this bnb. Adele is a gem of a host--kind, funny, full of great suggestions, and just a pleasure to stay with. The bnb is super charming, situated right across the main road on the lake, with a pleasant garden area. It's just a little ways up the road from Mandello del Lario in a quiet hamlet called Olcio (definitely take a stroll through the little streets). There is a great little beach and gelateria within walking distance and nice restaurants are a short drive away. This was a great location for us as we didn't want to be in a super busy village and wanted to stay somewhere convenient to the Alps near Sondrio. I can't recommend this place enough! (Oh, and the breakfast is scrumptious!)

I prefer a slightly softer mattress, but this might not bother others! The a/c isn't super cool, if that's something you require.

Great accommodation across road from Lake Como. Un spoilt view of Lake. Local beach bar and a restaurant within 100 yards. Large clean rooms and super breakfast from Adele. Rooms over 3 floors. Moto Guzi head quarters just 1/2 mile away.

Not a negative but just enough room for parking 2 maybe 3 cars but plenty of free parking 200 yards away.

It will be worth staying here firstly for the loveliest host ‘Adele’ and her incredible breakfasts! I cannot speak more highly of the experience my partner and I had at B&B Foresteria Frontelago. The accommodation is beautiful both inside and out. Every room is akin to being immersed in the renaissance period. Excellent working air con and great shower. The location is ideal for those wishing to be removed from the tourist areas, this will prove to be a more authentic experience and definitely worth it. Cross the road and you can swim in Lake Como and enjoy the beautiful views. I hope one day to return and stay in the B&B as well as getting the chance to see Adele again!

The only thing I will recommend is that you have a car or bike as a 3km walk is required to reach the town of Mandello Del Lario and trains are infrequent.

Everything was just perfect. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The whole house is very interesting, many art objects, paintings, a place like I have never seen. Beautiful lake views from the balcony, serene atmosphere that gives you so much peace. Adele was so lovely, waited for us and greeted us with a smile. She prepared a lovely breakfast in the morning and made us feel so welcome! Grazie mille! Congratulazioni per tutto quello che fai!

Adele , the hostess is an amazing and exceptional person. Friendly, ready to help and assist on everything that will make your holiday Safe, enjoyable and happy. Her breakfast was great with a touch of her personal home cooking.

Both rooms , bedroom and bathroom were large and comfortable. Two different styles. Bedroom antique furniture and bathroom modern and refurbished. Depending on your style you may not like one of the two.

Adele (the host) was amazing and went out of her way to make our visit to Lake Como a great experience. We arrived late at night and Adele arranged for a late check-in which was really appreciated. We had no issues with parking onsite and I think having a car really helped as the location although great (the lake was right outside and not crowded) was not walking distance from the major spots (although the train station was just up the road). The room was very clean and comfortable with enough space for a few days' visit. Like all the other reviews mentioned, the breakfast was a highlight! Overall 10/10 and I would highly recommend B&B - FORESTERIA - Frontelago Lake Como!

The bathroom was a bit small

Everything was brilliant. The room brilliant, the location brilliant, the breakfast brilliant and the host Adele was even better than brilliant. We had a week staying with Adele and her hospitality was superb, her local knowledge and willingness to help was so useful. Good local restaurants and gelateria and having the rail station a few minutes away almost made a vehicle unnecessary. Cross the road to the beach for a swim ....perfect. We will definitely be back. One of the best holidays ever...

Leaving to return home

You need to stay here if you want to try the world's best omelettes!! Adele is an amazing host. We immediately felt at home. She was always available for anything and everything. Every morning at breakfast she would treat us to Italian specialities and also discuss our plans for the day and shared her personal recommendations. She loves hosting and meeting travellers, this is clearly reflected in the brilliant hospitality provided by her. Hygiene was also very well taken care of in the kitchen. The property was brilliant, located just next to the Lake with stunning views and only 3 minutes away from the Olcio train station, this helped us enjoy the lake peacefully without the touristy crowd but also easily reach the hotspots like Varenna and Bellano. It's a very old, beautifully decorated and maintained house. We also had access to the garden. Highly recommend staying here for one of the best Lake Como experience.

Nothing

The owner was super nice! It was very personal stay, she made the breakfast, chatted with us and recommended some nice locations. Regarding the breakfast, I have to say it was great and different after all the hotel buffet breakfast we had during our roadtrip. She made it personally with typical Italian ingredients or food. The B&B is right next to the lake so you have a nice lake view from your room, there's also a garden where you can enjoy yourself. It's also close to Varena, one of the popular spots on lake Como (around 15 min by car). We stayed only for a night but it was one of the best spots we stayed at during our long European roadtrip.

We really enjoyed our stay, there are just small details to consider. For example, the lake view also means that you have a road right in front of your window so it might be loud sometimes. Also if you are not there by car, it might be a little harder to move around, go shopping, etc.
