Excellent service, food and staff. The room was characterful and comfortable, and the bed amazing. The food in the restaurant was lovely. The bar man in the snug bar was extremely knowledgeable on the vast selection of whiskies and other alcoholic beverages.
We had barely finished our evening meal when we were presented with the bill with out asking for it which made us feel like they were rushing to move us on and free up our table..

It’s without doubt the most beautiful and quintessential Scottish hotel. Fantastic location, food, drink and staff are amazing.
Our room lacked finishing touches expected for the cost. It’s our fifth time staying here and therefore I’m fair in my assessment.

The rooms in the George (even the basic standard ones) are fabulous and each one unique and if you're looking for a romantic getaway, then one of the suites is a must! The bar is great with different areas to drink (including two outside areas). We have been visiting the George for a few years now for a night away and the food is always great, really high standard. Friday and Saturday nights there is a band (in the summertime in the outside area) and there is always a great atmosphere.
Can't fault anything about the George..

Big room, nicely decorated. Comfortable, big bed. Lots of tea/coffee, nice coffee machine. Delicious breakfast which was made to order. Didn't hear any noise from other rooms or outside.
Spotlights let down the decor of the room. Shower took a long time to heat up. Dark tartan carpet on the stairs made it difficult to see the individual stairs. Coffee pods in room didn't have anything on them to say what they were. Small telly and it was far away from chair/bed so difficult to watch.

This is an older building , the rooms are mainly separate at the back. We had a loch view and a wonderful big room. The location of the hotel is superb and is its main selling factor. Breakfast is very good and all the staff are excellent. The bar and restaurants are good but busy. We were there on a Saturday night, so entertainment was on , and it was a reasonable band.. We slept well and could not hear the music as it was inside due to the weather.
I stay in many hotels around the world. It's a bit overpriced in my view. However, it is a unique experience. Car parking is a little restricted at the back, and being an old building, there are no elevators, so luggage has to be man handled up the stairs by the guests. It was very busy, I think it is equally popular with tourists and the younger locals.

We had booked the "Library" and I assume this is one of the nicest rooms in the hotel, so this influences our judgement of course. The staff were very helpfull pointing us to a small parking so our car was safe for our stay. Our room was actually a suite and simply had everything you need while having this 'old' pub feel to it = just splendid for us. The bed was also one of the most comfortable during our whole vacation. We had dinner here and enjoyed it very much. We were actually really disappointed we had just booked it for 1 night, but you just don't know in advance of course.
Not really anything to complain about

The location suited us as it was purely an overnight stop on our route home. The evening meal & breakfast were both very good. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was well appointed & comfortable.
The bathroom was fine apart from the fact the toilet made a weird noise when flushing albeit only for a few seconds. An observation rather than a complaint. Our room was at the front of the hotel & there was some traffic noise through the night although Inverary is a fairly quiet town.

Room was lovely with a comfy bed The bathroom was clean.and well equipped
We arrived at 9pm We already knew we wouldn't be able to have a meal as it was to late for the restaurant to serve food. We managed to get a sandwich from the local coop. No other eateries were open at that time. Can I suggest you provide a sandwich platter for late arrivals. I understand this would have to be ordered and chargeable but honestly it would be so welcome after a long journey. For such a lovely hotel I find it unbelievable you haven't provided this service already

The staff were extremely friendly and could not do anymore to help. Our tv in the room wasn’t working and the receptionist went above and beyond to get something sorted for us. The hotel was also really central.
The noise in our room, we were on the first floor and had to deal with noise from above, below and along the corridor. Also the first night we ate in the hotel restaurant, the portions were really small and the chicken was swimming in oil.

Breakfast was lovely as was the delish fresh shell fish evening meal. The band was good and the ambience was perfect. staff were friendly particularly the breakfast staff.
We were stashed due to unprecedented floods causing landslides and flooding. There was no road out the following day. Without writing a book, the staff initially were very accommodating until we found out via another guest that they were charging full price for another night, which was a bit unfair as it was not through choice. Then we were told it would be the full price of £225 and not the price we got on booking .com. We also found out later in the day that the road was open at Dalmally and decided to check out, to both save money and get home to our families. Only to be told we would be charge 5 more hours as we had passed the check out time of 12 midday! We were stumped! Been going to the George for years and found their compassion leaving a lot to be desired!!
