Convenient location to most shops. Walking distance to Kumamoto castle, the staff were friendly and helpful.

If you are driving, the Affiliated public car park is quite a distance away. No stopping in front of hotel to unload luggages and passengers. You have to park your car first and drag your luggages all the way to the hotel.

OMO5 Kumamoto is a fantastic choice with its great location—the shopping arcade is right downstairs, and Kumamoto Castle is within a 20-minute walk. The room is beautifully designed, with a well-structured, thoughtful layout that includes cute lamps and attention to every detail, creating a cozy and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. The self-check-in system made the process smooth, though better English proficiency at reception would improve communication.

Breakfast is café-style with a limited menu of Western options—delicious but lacking the variety of a buffet or any Japanese dishes, which was a bit surprising. A mixed breakfast option would enhance the experience. However, check-in starts strictly at 3 PM, with no flexibility for early check-in. Additionally, the dryer on the reception floor was ineffective, leaving my clothes still damp after washed. Overall, a well-designed and convenient hotel, but with a few areas for improvement.

Beautiful hotel overall, from reception to the rooms, everything was well designed. Super clean, shower head pressure was amazing even though the head itself was small. Awesome location, walking distance from the Kumamoto castle and right across the road from a tram stop that takes you to Kumamoto station. A range of shops right at your doorstep

Didn't make the beds when we returned after the first day, only towels were replaced which isn't really considered a room clean. Rooms are small space where you can actually use your suitcase is tiny due to tatami mats taking up most of the floor space, although this is nice it isn't practical.

We spent three nights in one of the Yagura Rooms A and absolutely loved the decor. With the sleeping area positioned upstairs, it felt like having two separate rooms, providing plenty of space. The beds were super comfortable, and the room itself was quiet. The hotel also features a café/bar and a lovely terrace lounge with a view of the castle. Its location is convenient, close to shops, restaurants, and bars. We would gladly stay here again.

Their breakfast features a Western-fusion style, which didn’t quite match our preference for Japanese or Asian-style breakfast. However, that’s purely a matter of personal taste and not a reflection on the quality of the breakfast itself.

Key features of this hotel included its prime location with the Torichosuji tram stop at its doorstep, complimentary luggage lockers, and generously sized rooms with ample luggage space. The hotel's contemporary design and cleanliness created a relaxing atmosphere. Situated on the third floor above a selection of restaurants and cafes, it also offered a spacious and versatile reception area, perfect for getting some work done.

Very central location. Great for exploring Kumamoto. Everything is self service so it is generally convenient.

I would have expected more service for the price I paid. Also, there is no drop off lobby so it was very inconvenient for my family when checking in and checking out as we had to juggle luggages and kids. Wouldn’t recommend if you have a combination of: lots of luggage, driving and kids.

Breakfast is good for our 2 days stay, tho limited choices. The rooms are clean and they have air purifier in every room. We love the location, as it is very close to all shopping areas and just walking distance to Kumamoto Castle. The toilet and the shower area are separate, making it easy for a family of 4 of us to manage the timing of using the toilet and taking shower.

Modern, clean and well positioned hotel in the centre and near Kumamoto Temple. Our room was a loft with two large futons and a couch downstairs. Likely we were not asked to pay extra, because this is not what I have booked. No Cable TV was connected in our room either. Breakfast menu had only 4 items on the menu. Coffee machine was only working from 2 pm 😢

Perfect location, especially for first-time visitors to Kumamoto. Friendly and helpful staff.

No in-room phones. We had difficulties reaching other rooms (multiple rooms booked for our trip). Some of our elderly family members don't have personal phones. Also, there is no way to contact the reception desk—needed to go down there physically, which was inconvenient.
