Great location, close to Port, buses and taxis . Easy to find and right next to the palace. Host Tony was extremely helpful, allowing us to leave luggage early, and good contact prior to our arrival. We also had a view of the port and palace from our balcony.

If you want a view from a room on the 4th floor you have to be prepared to walk 80 steps. However Tony insisted on helping with luggage both upstairs and downstairs 👍

Toni was very helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to assist us. He answered our questions promptly before we arrived and during our stay and was patient and flexible with our schedule changes. An excellent host, he also gave us helpful information about where to find things in the area. The location is perfect for taking in the palace and market and the waterfront. Nice view on seaside.

We knew that there was no elevator and that we’d be on the 3rd floor but when we booked we took into consideration having one of our husbands with us. Note, though, that in this part of the world the 3rd floor doesn’t include the bottom ground level floor, so the 3rd floor is actually on the 4th floor.

Tony and his wife were fantastic. Very friendly, hospitable and helpful. Everything was clean and it was so close to the silver gate, that it was convenient to pop back whenever we wanted.Tony went out of his way to meet us when we arrived and to communicate with the taxi when we left (it was a Bank Holiday and the taxi was late).

In order to keep Split amazingly clean, the bins are emptied and streets cleaned a bit early in the morning! It took us some time to work out that to get hot water to the shower, you need to have both bathroom-light switches on

The hosts (Toni and his wife) provide a very warm welcome. Toni is a true gentleman and a top man, greeting us upon arrival and helping us with our suitcases up to our room. Likewise on our departure he helped us with our cases again. Toni's wife (sorry - I never got her name) cleaned our rooms each day to a very high standard. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The bedroom was of a good size, as indeed was the bathroom. Location perfect. Next door to Diocletian's Palace, and just a short walk to the Riva Promenade. Security was good. A PIN code is required to enter the main building, You then need to use your pass key to enter the La Porta Rooms, and then your pass key again to enter your own room. There is also a safe in the room. I would definitely stay at the La Porta again.

I know this has been mentioned in other reviews. The La Porta is on the fourth floor of an old building therefore there are many steps to walk up to the room and no elevator. I think I read 78 steps although i did not count them myself. The first walk up was a challenge, but after the first walk up I got used to it and it wasn't a problem. I am 66 at the time of writing and not exactly an Olympic athlete. I just took my time walking up and it was ok. The walk down is much easier btw. I can't think of anything else i did not like and, to be honest, I was ok with the steps really,

This room is right outside Diocletian's palace. The street is less busy but everything is so accessible. It's close to a bakery, two small grocery stores and a daily green market. The room is small but has enough counter space and space for luggage. Bathroom is quite spacious, great sink and shower. We enjoyed the complimentary tea and coffee. The host met us at the parking lot and provided us with information about the area, which was helpful. They gave us discounted parking of 15 euro/day, which is very appreciated.

The room is at the top floor in a 5th floor walk up, so hope your knees are ready.

The location was super, direct next to the old town, market, harbour, supermarkets etc. The view from the balcony was great. Lots of restaurants, cafes in the vacinity. 2 minutes walk to the promonade and seafront restaurants and bars. The host was very helpfull and friendly. Kept in touch with me on the journey from airport to accommodation and was there to meet me on arrival and help with the bags. I recommend room 5, which has a balcony.

Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems, lots of stairs up to the top floor, but worth the climb.

We had a great stay at La Porta. Our host, Toni, was very helpful. He carried our bags upstairs for us and also helped with our luggage on the way down. La Porta is in a great position, about 40 metres from a gate into the Old Town and very close to the port. We also really loved our breakfast. We were given a voucher to the beautiful Luxor restaurant right in the Heart of the Old Town, opposite the cathedral. Overall, a terrific experience.

La Porta is on the fourth floor and there's no lift, but as Toni helped with our luggage, it wasn't really an issue for us.

Toni was a great communicator beforehand and helped us with our luggage from the carpark (location sent to us prior to arrival) to our room, giving great information about the area along the way - eating options, bakery and supermarket open hours, port location etc. The location was perfect for us and we loved sitting on our wee balcony taking in the views both day and night - made the trek up the stairs well worth while. The view to the Palace wall and gate with the belltower beyond, then across to the ships and ferries in port and harbour beyond, with the daily green market to the left below us was magical. Plenty of great restaurants a short distance away and close to the port and bus station. While helping us with our luggage back to the car on departure, Toni's wife rang him to say I had left my iPad behind in our room. Back he went to retrieve it telling us to wait there and not to worry. The location, the views, and Toni made La Porta Luxury Rooms a great option for us.

The room layout is a little awkward. There is no obvious place to leave your luggage if you don't want to unpack it all for a short stay but we made it work. There is cupboard space if you want to unpack and don't have large suitcases.

There were lots of stairs! It was fine for me, but if you aren't good with stairs it might be an issue. Tony was great and carried my luggage up and down. The room is very small, but it was totally fine for one person.
