Cute motel near the beach and walking distance from the airport. The free bikes are great fun for cruising along the waterfront path - lots of restaurants and activities within biking distance. It rained the whole time and there weren't many places to hang our wet clothes to dry. There was never anyone in reception when I walked past, and I didn't get an answer the one time I pushed the doorbell button (I didn't try calling the phone number as I never needed them that desperately, just for little questions). The included breakfast baskets are nice, and the queen bed was comfortably firm.

The rooms were equipped with thoughtful touches including a welcome basket of breakfast foods and snacks, a coffee machine and pods, a beach bag and beach towels, and personalised friendly information books covering the hotels amenities and what to do in the local area. There was also free bicycle hire, unfortunately none small enough for my 8 year-old to ride. The room had a lovely warm vintage coastal vibe, and was very comfortable.

The shower was very touchy, jumping from cold to very hot a few times We couldn't find the coffee pods but weren't too bothered. The TV did not have any streaming services, but considering the hotel had quite the retro vibe and plenty of DVD's were available at reception, this wasn't much of an issue either.

La costa was a beautiful stay. Close to the beach and like everywhere close to the beach it is also close to the main road but didn’t bother us at all. They even had amazing black out curtains which helped so much with the street lights and beaming signs. Great rooms with everything you need. Even had a cot for our little one and extra beach towels! Well equiped kitchenette and complimentary breakfast. We could even park off the street in a drive way in front of our unit making parking stress free with a 4 hour limit on the street. Linda was extremely helpful and was a great quality price even during school holidays!

tbh, not sure the advertised breakfast basket, as well intentioned as it might be, is much to write home about. aircon worked well, but bathroom had none and got very hot. curtains/blinds had holes, tricky to keep sunlight out. my room had an interconnecting door which, together with the floor boards, transmitted a lot of noise once a noisy family moved in next door.

A nice traditional Gold Coast motel in a great location with proximity to the beach. We were flying in a11.30am for a 1.30pm wedding same day and struggled to find a hotel that would guarantee an early check-in, even the massive Airport Rydges. La Costa organised for the room to be ready from 11.00am and its proximity to the airport allowed us to walk there in 10 minutes. The room was clean and neat and the bed quite comfy with everything that you need for a short stay. Would stay there again.

This little boutique is a charmer ~ it has everything you need for a quick weekend getaway! The beach access is within walking distance to this accommodation. Easy check in and check out. Though, we didn't use the mini bar - it was a delight to see that much variety. And, BONUS we loved the breakfast basket, very generous!

The beach towel will cost you. We didn't end up using it, lucky we had our own. Although, there was plenty of variety in the mini bar & fridge, it didn't give us enough space to store our own food / drinks. Very minor details, but we loved our stay! So thank you!

I chose this property because it was reasonably priced, close to the airport and the beach. I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful it was. The beach was so beautiful and relaxing with no crowds!! The complementary breakfast basket was amazing!!! Thank you! It meant that we didn’t have to search for a breakfast place before we dropped our daughter off on her early flight back to Cairns. I would definitely stay again.

Small bathroom

La Costa was built in the 1950s. It's in a great location and has a comfortable, modern feel. The exterior is quaint, aesthetically pleasing, and brought back childhood memories of family holidays on the Gold Coast. Thankfully though, my room was clean, fresh, modern and well stocked with snacks...and a good selection of very reasonably priced holiday tipples. On top, the sound of the ocean at night, with the windows open, was magical.

The table and chairs were a tad small and also way too low for me. I had difficulty watching the TV because my knees got in the way./s But the height of the bed was perfect.

What a lovely place to stay at this 'star' level of accommodation. The updated retro feel of the motel was really inviting, location excellent, and the team super accommodating to our slightly early arrival. Given its position, not very close to shops, it was interesting to see a nice mini bar provided if needed, and the continental breakfast was enough to get our day started. Touches like beach towels and on-tap streaming services were a bonus.

If I needed to pick something, no ventilation in the bathroom, was the only thing we could pick really. For a one night stay, not far from Twin Towns Services Club, and a nice short walk to the North Kirra Surf Club for lunch, it was an excellent option.

The hostess, Di, is really warm and friendly. I loved the welcome text that helps make arrival seamless. The location is fantastic! So close to the airport and the beach. Breakfast - even though we said we didn’t want it, was great and if we didn’t have an early flight we would have taken it down to the beach. 10/10. We will absolutely stay here again.

It’s not that we didn’t like it, but be aware that parking is in-allocated on the street. However there are plenty of places to park.
