Excellent service 👏 excellent quality & excellent price. Location is A1 with public transport at the door that runs 24/7 during peak holiday times, take u to everywhere & anywhere you'd ever need or want to get to... Did I mention the great dbl doors at head of bed that opens up onto the best ever balcony, with day beds, a dining table with dbl bench seats for each dbl room along with direct access to the kitchen so making & eating meals here were a delight..

Leaving.. The only bad part was that I couldn't stay forever! Literally felt like home away from home.

The location is very central to everything with only short walk to beach, shops & NSW boarder. Food was great at the bistro in pub and very reasonable prices. The kitchen was big with all the things you need to cook supplied including large fridge. Verandah had lots of seating including a smokers area and lounge room with aircon and decent size TV. The surfboard storage racks is available in lounge room on wall.

The rooms were small with no nice views of surrounding area. In saying that the beds comfy and the air-conditioning new.

Top bed was free (as it seems permanently)so only 4 persons in one room not 8. Kitchen was well equipped and always clean (but there weren’t so many users when I was there). Baths are very good and there are a lot of toilets and showers. Was a bit dirty under the bed, so maybe don’t put your luggage there.

It was dirty under the bed. Also the lockers are a bit old and some are broken. They could also be cleaned. For me the bed was too short but I am used to this (207 cm). Power sockets are only in the lockers, not directly at the bed.

I was going to stay in Coolangata sands hotel for one night And ended up staying for two. I really don’t understand why the ratings on this place are so low because on my experience it was a great stay and amazing value for money. 1. Beds comfortable and fresh and clean linen. 2. They even give you a fresh towel no cost and small soap. 3. Toilets, even though shared were usually super clean 4. The shared dorms have 8 beds but they only receive 4 guest, so good ratio of people and space. 5. Air con in every room and wifi pretty good

Shared rooms are always a mix bag depending on who’s in the next bed, but even considering that I had two amazing night sleep (weekday). Under the hotel there’s a bar and slot machines casino, but after 22:00 you can’t hear anything.

Excellent queen mattress; soft without any sinking, no wires. And no shaking when the other person moves. French doors on to shared balcony with seating and tables. Shared kitchen facilities with fridge. Excellent central location. Locked storage of baggage before and after checking in/out. Shared bathroom facilities also include two separate shower and toilet rooms for when you need a bit more privacy.

Air con not working, but fans were provided and very effective. Very basic furniture. Lockers, no wardrobe. No openable window, only doors to outside.

Lovely stay in a great old Dame of a pub - this was my second stay so I knew what to expect. I've stayed in a private room to myself and now a dorm room, women only (yes I am a woman, booking.com stop putting Mitchell as my first name please). Comfy bed, it's a bunk but the top bed is for storage only! Which gives more space but the facilities could do with a little updating. Polite punters even food to share in the shared kitchen facilities and free marshmallows! The luck of the draw will bring me back here. Do mind the disabled toilet showers they all flood so no stress. I nicked some towels for the excess water from the kaundry. Wonderful old balcony to plonk yourself on and enjoy. The cleaning staff seemed to all have a rakish cough but now vaping is at an end I hope the team have made it through.

Difficult to achieve 'soft' light next to the bed. Flooding shower, slight lack of crockery choices.

The room was clean and comfortable and the shared facilities were also clean and well-kept. There is also a shared living space with everything you may need. They also have a smoking area on the balcony as the front doors are locked at night which adds more safety and comfortability.

There was a man smoking down the hallway from us which is not the establishments fault at all and I don't think man really cared about it at all. I know you guys have rules for this and its hard to keep up with these things when you guys are so busy downstairs so stress less. I'm just not a smoker so it smells gross to me but like... anyways.

We ended up here due to budget constraints & leaving booking accommodation for our event way too late.Very convenient to shops, restaurants and beach at Coolangatta. Beds were comfy, shared bathroom & kitchen exceptionally clean. Lovely big verandah for guests and well appointed lounge/common room. We got a meal at the bistro downstairs which was beautiful & so well priced. Would definitely stay there again by choice.

Very friendly & welcoming staff, especially the cleaners who did an excellent job & taking pride in keeping the place spotless & providing fresh towels & soap. Hospitality staff very pleasant & friendly. Reception staff very welcoming & accommodating. People who were staying @ the hostel valued & respected the place & were very helpful & friendly. All of this denotes there must be great & caring management @ this hotel when it trickles down to the staff & residents. It was a great place to stay, safe & comfortable & I’m really grateful to have stumbled across such an oasis in the wandering desert of traveling & would definitely stay again without hesitation. A very enjoyable stay. Thank you all @ Coolangatta Sands😀

Location = excellent, right down street from where I needed to be all week, and close enough to walk to from the airport. Room = fine (air con, amenities nearby, bed a little soft but no worse than most holiday accoms).

Small amount of mold on underside of top bunk mattress. 3 morning showers went --> Friday = warmish after a few minutes, Saturday = luke warm at best, Sunday = stone cold. Had 1 problem getting in the front door Friday night (door wouldn't budge), managed to call staff (another Stacey) who helped and worked out the issue.
