For an outstanding experience in the Keys, I highly recommend the Sugarloaf Key Hotel and KOA RV Park, which features a picturesque beach area, fishing dock, boat dock, bait shop, and a range of rental options. The pool and large jacuzzi with a well-appointed tiki bar offer a perfect spot to relax. With its pet-friendly policy, modern rooms, immaculate RV sections, and campsites for tents, the large balcony it makes this property really attractive.

Very minor but our unit did not have an oven. Would have loved to have an oven as we like baking frozen pizza or biscuits for breakfast at property. Also would recommend treating the beach area for sand flies if possible.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Sugarloaf Key Hotel at KOA Resort. It is conveniently located not far from Key West and a number of other Keys. Some of the nearby beaches were quite beautiful. Facilities onsite were exceptional including a small beach for swimming, large swimming pool, laundry room etc etc. The pool bar was very lively with music playing most of the day. There is a small store onsite providing a range of items along with bike, boat rentals etc. The site was well patrolled by staff who were all very pleasant. Our room was bright, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The spacious balcony provided good views of the area. We enjoyed our stay very much and we were quite sad to leave. We would certainly stay there again if we returned to visit the Florida Keys again!

Unfortunately, the lift was not working during our stay but it was only a minor inconvenience.

This was our first time back since being rebuilt. We stated at the motel and brought our boat. All the staff we're very nice, except the blonde woman at check-in was very short with me and then she was rude to our friends when they arrived later that day. She kinda set a bad tone at the start, but we didn't see her again, and v everyone else was very nice. The location was great. Grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. The marina was nice, and the staff there went above and beyond to help us. Having the boat ramp right there made it so convenient. Our only complaint would be that the mattresses in our room were very flimsy and uncomfortable and we didn't sleep well. But the people we were with stayed in another room and said theirs was fine. All in all, it was a great trip!

This is an exceptional facility, beautifully landscaped and well-appointed. The suite was roomy, comfortable, and quiet. My room was on the third floor of the North Hotel building. I had a marvelous sunrise view and enjoyed breakfast on my balcony every morning. Evening entertainment in the pub on Saturday night was Howard Livingston and Mile Marker 24. It was great—Jimmy Buffet-style music and everyone was dancing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The bedroom should have a room-darkening window covering. The window faces the outdoor walkway, which is brightly lit. This is great if you come in late at night but not so much if you are sensitive to light. I wore an eye mask, which worked well, but the room should be dark. Also, the EXIT light over the door is huge and bright at night, plus the door is frosted glass, which lets in a lot of light from the walkway. If someone tries to sleep on the sofa bed, this light would shine in their eyes. As far as I know, none of the suites offer a king-size bed. This was not a problem for me by myself, but couples who are used to staying in a facility of this quality would expect a king-size bed.

Beautiful property, our second visit to this location. Quickly becoming a family favorite! Love the location, a short drive to key west or up to Bahia Honda state park. Pool and hot tub are amazing and well-kept grounds! The staff from the bait and rental shop went above and beyond to keep everything amazing! The outdoor balcony for breakfast was a great way to wake up!

The cook top could be a bit bigger if you plan to use it. We cooked breakfast and dinner, so it was a little harder to navigate a meal. Or smaller pans, we made it work, no worries, just small obstacles. 😉

Sugarloaf Key Hotel and KOA Resort was very well taking care of. Stuff was welcoming and very friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. We used marina to launch on our kayaks, surrounding is very beautiful for paddling.

I wish the hotel will use king size bed instead of queen size and matrices of better-quality. Night lights on the porch and Exit sign in the room was very intensive during the night it disturbed my sleep.

The property was laid out beautifully with a variety of landscaping. Everything was very clean and looked well-kept! The staff were wonderful and the food was very fresh and good! We appreciated every aspect of the KOA and honestly couldn’t find anything we would have done differently in terms of the amenities or facilities!

It is hard to find anything not to like. The only thing my husband and I both noted were that the beds were not the most comfortable, rather firm, but that is all.

Location was great- about 30 minutes from Key West. Easy access off the highway. The property is immaculate! Very clean, including the hotel room we stayed in. The kitchen was very well appointed and there were full-size washer and dryer in unit. Also a huge, private balcony to watch the sunrise. The pool area makes you feel like you’re in a high-end resort and is sheltered from the wind with lush landscaping.

The mattress felt tired and a little saggy, and the pillows were too firm for my liking.

Property was very clean and looked brand new. So nice to have a kitchen and a private bedroom when traveling with kids. We paid a little extra at the site for a room upgrade and had a view of the water and bunk beds for kids so they didn’t have to sleep on a pull out couch (but that looked nice too!) Beautiful pool and water play area.

Only tricky part was tight parking for a larger car/truck. It would also be great to have room numbers on where to park, but that wasn’t a problem once we figured it out.

The property has so much to do. The beach area is fun for the kids with a water park. The pool is very clean and the hot tub was outstanding. We rented a kayak there and had a great time in the mangroves. Our unit was very nice and the balcony with a water view was enjoyable.

We struggled with the music being on all day at the pool. It was loud in our room at times. The live bands were very loud in the hotel area. We prefer a place with more quiet areas .
