Amazing location, staff were brilliant. Only stayed for the one night back in June, but we definitely know where to stay when we visit again. We asked about the parking too which we were first worried about but instead we had a lovely quick illustration on where to go in the carpark from the man working the front desk, which made us giggle, then thinking his picture was a bad way to show it (but we did think it was brilliant), he then offered to pop out to show us where to park and help with our bags! He went above and beyond for us to feel welcomed and gave us great information on the city and places to go, which we really appreciated. The room itself was above what we expected and at a very good price.

Absolutely nothing NOT to like about this lovely gem 2 mins from York city centre. From making a reservation, to the actual stay, nothing was too much trouble for this B&B. Fabulous location, comfortable room and facilities, we had a room in a mews annexe at the rear of the building. Quiet, secluded and comfortable. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff. We had requested oat milk and vegan options for breakfast, both were supplied effortlessly, and we loved the little welcome bottle of Prosecco in our room. Step outside the door and you are surrounded by bars, restaurants and cafes, with a little Sainsbury's Local on the corner. Cannot recommend this B&B highly enough, thank you for a wonderful, pleasant stay.

Nothing

We stayed in room 3, it was spacious, and had a 4 poster bed, which was a lovely surprise. The room was private and not overlooked. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. In the room, we had a decent wardrobe with hangers, a dressing table, bedside units, a little table with chairs, and a long seat, plus a little cupboard and draw unit. There was also a tv and coffee facilities. The ensuite was very clean with a shower over the bath. The breakfast was good and the full English breakfast was lovely (paid extra). We would definitely stay here again as the location was excellent from the train station and for the city of york itself. 5 🌟

The only small issue was the choice for the continental breakfast. You had a section of cereal, yoghurt with mixed fruit and toast. There was no pain, au chocolate or crossaints.

Second time we’ve came and stayed here - York has become our romantic city break (we’re in Bridlington) They’re accommodating and perfect for somwhere to sleep and be cosy it’s also very quiet - staff are always smiling - we’re usually up and out by 10am and can be back out again for evening till 11pm+ and never had an issue at all - we asked if we could have the same room this year as last and we’re offered it without extra charge since we are returning customers - everything is around 10/15 minute walking distance but so many shops and things tonsee I don’t even feel the walk we did 17 miles in 2 days just walking around the city - we will be back again hopfully later this year if not see you in 2026!:)

The room was lovely and clean and the staff couldn't have ask for more. My son injured his leg a few days before so is in a moonboot and the staff were so nice. I ask for an ice pack and no questions ask I got one and when he needed a new one again, no questions ask just swoop them. It's like a 10 minute walk(maybe faster with out moonboot) into center and you have a local Sainsbury's just 1 minute walk end of the street if you want snacks. After you check out if your not leaving for a few hours, the staff keep your bags and watch them for you. The staff are all lovely and just couldn't be more helpful.

When we were a sleep, a few other guest were coming back and made loads of noise and woke us up. (Again I know its not the staff flaut) But again they signs up everywhere saying be quite to our other guests. Apart from that, no complains. They gone up and beyond.

I really love this hotel i come here everytime I stay in york and they never disappoint! Check in was quick, the staff were really helpful as always and made me feel welcome.the bed was comfy and the room was clean it was such a nice room. The hotel is close to the train station and is so close to the city centre. I'd deffo recommend to anyone and I will be back

The only minor thing about my room was the wardrobe door could do with a little tlc and the drain in the shower could be a little better but again its something a little tlc couldn't fix overall the pros outweigh the cons.

Ryan was kind and exceptionally helpful before and throughout our stay. The delicious traditional English breakfast along with other options was served at the designated time by friendly staff. Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet and well appointed with everything we needed for a restful stay, including a room fan. Centrally located on a side street inside the walls of York, we enjoyed our walks all over town to visit shops, pubs, bakeries, interesting sites and the city wall for an evening stroll.

Our travel schedule wouldn't permit us to stay longer.

The location is excellent for access to the city only being a short walk to the city walls and main streets of the city. The street where the hotel is located has excellent pubs and restaurants in easy walking distance providing excellent food and drink. The hotel was clean, warm, and comfortable with friendly helpful staff who could not do enough to enhance our stay. The breakfast was great quality and really, set you up for the day. I would definitely, recommend Georgian House to anyone who wishes to stay in York.

Would benefit from a lift as there are a few stairs to get up to the bedrooms but not sure if this is possible. I think people who have mobility issues would struggle with the stairs. I never saw the bar area open but there are lots of bars and restaurants within easy walking access so not a problem.

Excellent location, so close to everything and nice being near the museum park to get away from the crowds. Just a couple of minutes to start a walk round the wall. Being in one of the mews rooms at the back was lovely and quiet and we slept well. The room was generally clean and a coffee tray provided. The heating was adjustable, so it was good to be able to adjust it when it got cold. All the staff we met were friendly and I'm sure they would have been approachable if we had any problems.

The shower screen and fittings need a deep clean and wouldn't take much time to make a big difference. I think the rooms with only skylights would be very hot in the summer. Decor is a little dated but it doesn't make your stay any less comfortable.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. It's a typical old style English hotel with it's own charm. The hotel offers several room types. Our room was in the courtyard in an annex. The quiet room and bathroom look modern, just renovated and unexpectedly large. The bed was comfortable. A kettle with coffee and tea bags was available. Two tables and two chairs complete the room. The good breakfast is served in the old fashioned way, you order what you want from a menu. Breakfast was included in our booking, but you have to tell the reception the night before if you want breakfast. The location of the hotel is very central to the cathedral and the old town behind the city walls is a 5-minute walk away. There are several pubs, cafes, restaurants and one supermarket near the hotel. The train and bus station are a 12-15-minute walk away. The famous railway museum is a 15-18-minute walk away. The hotel offers a luggage storage service

Myself I have nothing to complain about. Just note that the hotel has a lot of stairs and no elevator. If you have problems with your legs or walking, you should ask for a room in the courtyard
