We stayed at this historic hotel in the heart of old town York for four nights and had an absolutely wonderful time. We had fantastic views right out of our window of the York Minster. Our room was spacious and furnished beautifully. The room was very clean and the bed super comfortable. We had a sitting area in the room which added greatly to the comfort and the ability to unwind a bit after a busy sightseeing day. The heavy drapes meant that we could shut out the light and noise of the outside when we wanted to. The room was well insulated from the noise of the street. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. We ate several evening meals in the attached restaurant and every meal was delicious. The location of this property is perfect for being able to walk anywhere in old York. We would definitely stay here again.

The dean court was absolutely BEAUTIFUL 😍 you walked straight out of the hotel and York Minster is just there. It was lit up and decorated beautifully for Christmas and the high ceilings and oldies worldie feel were just amazing. Staff were Incredible,from the reception staff,to the lunch&breakfast staff,even the gentleman who brought our car back for us :) the food at lunch and breakfast was gorgeous!

Location, location, location. It does not get better than this in York. Funny specialty: on check-in you get vouchers for drinks at the bar, one per person per night. If you use the voucher, there is no room service the next day. Your call if you want room service or a free drink.

Rooms are OK but not more than that. Towards the road there is noise, towards the back there is an ugly back yard with air conditioning and the like from nearby places. Noise was still acceptable unless there are drunk people (big difference between weekdays and weekend, in the city, too!). Staff is very diverse: some really care and are very friendly, others not so much.

Great hotel in a great location. Our twin room was beautiful and spacious. Breakfast was exceptional, as were the other dining options offered by the hotel. The staff were friendly, efficient and well motivated, ensuring that every guest was treated with the utmost care and respect. We felt well and truly cosetted.

I remember feeling a bit concerned at the time of booking, that our car would be offsite, and thinking that the parking was a bit expensive. BUT, the car was very safe, and it was actually worth every penny. So DON'T be put off by the parking situation!!

Relentless spam attack before stay, which continues even after departure. No less than 20 marketing messages, many of which were pages long repeats. These A**holes won't leave me alone.

The location was absolutely perfect. Within reaching distance of the minster and the melodic sound of the bells. The hotel staff were first class. I got a ‘family’ vibe from the hotel team. They were most certainly working as a team and were welcoming, helpful, friendly & attentive. It was a very pleasant, relaxing stay.

Allocation and placement were disappointing. Our single room was dreary, lacked lustre & light and face a brick wall. Our twin room (selected) was actually a double and very small. Without hesitation we were changed to a much larger twin that was perfect apart from the shower over the bath and electric lighting shown through the vent in the ceiling above the shower causing suspicion of its intention! This hotel price point is DEFINITELY due to its location as the actual decor requires some updating and carpets throughout require stain removal and a thorough clean.

The hotel is really in front of the Minster. Having your breakfast while you enjoying a nice wiew is really nice! It's just a 15min walk from the train station and the area is fantastic. Minster, shambles, Clifford's Tower, Jorvik viking centre etc. Our room was quite big, clean and comfy. There was no AC in the bedroom but there was a tower fan. we stayed a couple of nights and basically if you don't want your room to be clean, for each day you don't want this you can have a free drink at bar in the hotel. The breakfast is not cheap but in line with a lot of other hotel in the area (doesn't mean it's ok though). Fruits, juices, cereals, croissant, pain ou chocolat, jam, bread, tea, americano coffee and the traditional english breakfasts. our breakfast was included in the package but if you want something different from the americano coffee you have to pay as extra... thing that it's kind of disappointed, considering how much we have been charge for the breakfast. Staff was great! very king, professional and helpfull. They are really nice people!

We could hear the TVs in the other rooms next to ours. Nothing major but in the quiet of the night it wasn't the best.

Location and staff were incredible. The staff were the best I’ve encountered in any hotel and their service is fantastic. Bar open late and good food for breakfast.

The room we stayed in was a little unkempt. We had a small dog with us so maybe there is a dog side to the hotel I dunno. There were some holes in the bed linen and an old dirty mark although I could tell this was a stain and not unwashed. There was also a pill on the floor which I’m glad I noticed before my dog. The valet parking is a nice touch but my car returned dirtier than I left it as this is not in a covered car park. Not the end of the world but for £25 it was annoying. For the price of the hotel room I expected a little better.
