Hosts were very personable and friendly on arrival and throughout our stay and keen to provide best hosting with snippets of advice and I think would have reacted to any room issues. We had no issues as the room was in a good state of maintenance and clean. Their attention to your breakfast needs I can only term faultless. I had porridge and asked if I might have a few blueberries to throw in. Day 2 the host asked me if I might like a few blueberries again. That's attentive hosting and I got the impression that had I altered my fruit selection I would probably have been granted that request similarly. Nothing seemed to be a bother or a job even. The English breakfast is very good and my poached egg choice was done to perfection. Thank you to our hosts for a stress free experience.

Chris and jane are so welcoming. Fernleigh is immaculate, our room was very homly with the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We were provided with refreshments in the room as well as dressing robes.The view was breathtaking. Breakfast was exceptionally good and well presented with an abundance of refreshments. Thank you Chris and Jane for a fantastic stay at your home. We will most certainly be booking up again and will highly recommend you to friends and family.x

The breakfast was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. The hosts were very accommodating, friendly, and made us feel at home. The accommodation was ideally placed. Parking was on a quiet residential road nearby.

The only things that could have been improved were the size of the room, but I did book a compact room. The storage space, again a compact room did not have a lot of space. The only aspect I could criticise was the lighting near the mirror in the bathroom, which made it difficult to shave by.

Welcoming and friendly Hosts, the establishment was exceptionally clean and well catered for. The bed was of ultimate comfort for us with soft bedding and plump pillows. Tea, Coffee and even a jar containing some home made brownies was in the room awaiting us. The breakfast was in my opinion the best B&B breakfast I have had bar none, Quality products and well cooked and delivered. Chris and Jane have apparently only been in Fernleigh since 2018 but they have certainly taken to the industry in a huge way, Nothing was too much effort, We will without doubt be staying here again and would advise anyone staying in the bay to visit this establishment.

This building was once used as a place for priest convalescence, the building has been very well maintained aesthetically and is being well kept in terms of cleanliness. There was absolutely nothing that we could think of that we didn't like of the establishment or the bay area

Excellent location Chris and Jane were wonderful friendly hosts nothing too much trouble the brownies (apparently) were amazing but I didn’t get a look in they even provided glasses and bottle openers and well the breakfast was exceptional planning our next visit 12 friends were in a house next door but one however we preferred the peace and quiet at Fernleigh xxx

The breakfasts were superb - loads of choice, generous portions and excellent ingredients. The owners are very thoughtful - there's a small fridge in the breakfast room for guests to take milk to their rooms. No UHT milk in sachets! We had their smallest room, but it was still big enough. The bathroom was lovely, too. Parking was very good - the road immediately outside, or just round the corner. Location-wise Fernleigh is at the top of the famous hill, so you only need to tackle the incline if you really want to :o) The Grosvenor pub just round the corner does excellent, value for money meals. We used Fernleigh as a base to visit Durham, Whitby etc.

An amazing place in Robin Hoods Bay. The hosts, Jane and Chris were great and couldn't do enough for us, even letting us leave our bikes on their astroturf. The bed was comfy, the room lovely in soft greys and the B&B overall was stunning. The breakfast was fantastic all freshly prepared and cooked. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

The Fernleigh Hotel is a Victorian building which has been renovated beautifully. The hosts are friendly and have taken a lot of care throughout the B&B. Chris even helped with first aid when my fiance misjudged the curb down the road! The room is cosy and warm with hot drink making facilities and fresh milk in the breakfast room, if preferred. The brownie in your room is a nice, personal touch. The bed is soft, like a cloud. We both slept well and the area is very quiet. The showers are great too, very powerful! We had a full English breakfast which was delicious. What a gem, 10/10 from us and would stay again, rather than just coming to RHB for the day :)

Lovely B&B, with excellent communication & a warm welcome from the owners Jane & Chris. They offered alternatives for my husband who doesn't eat pork and gave excellent recommendations on places for dinner. Breakfast was delicious and the bed was so comfortable, you can tell they'd gone the extra mile on the mattress. Parking on the street can be difficult as it's a busy residential street too, but there is a car park only a few minutes away that we used on arrival, but as it quietened down later, we secured a space right outside. Would absolutely stay there again.

Everything was exceptional. From the building to the room to the breakfast. A lovely welcome, the cleanliness was second to none, the bed was really comfortable, the room was spotless, shower was really good. Breakfast was very good, all fresh, nothing too much trouble. We would highly recommend this b & b, we would definitely return.
