Great location in the heart of the old city. Roman ruins literally on the doorstep and restaurants and bars just steps away. Despite this we didn’t find it noisy at night, it’s a residential area so not just tourists which is great. Hotel is clean, staff are polite if distant (which was fine for us). Room was a superior double, a good size, comfy bed and good decor. No kettle but there was an espresso machine. We had a balcony overlooking the Roman arch, but no balcony furniture, disappointingly! Otherwise would have been a 9. But a lovely stay nonetheless- Trieste is a laid back city, beautiful architecture, amazing sunsets, and a really interesting history. Don’t miss Miramare gardens!

room and bathroom were big and clean, there was a couch in our room... really close to the center, nice and quiet area... no problem storing our bikes, helpful and nice staff

only staff had access to our bikes during reception opening hours - almost whole day, but we need to plan our trip to be there on the time... there is no stand for bikes so we had to lean our bikes to some other bikes and block them from being taken out. we think it is not so happy solution because the hotel has pretty big space to park the bicycles but you can only use so little space when you have no bicycle stand (lean your bikes to the wall), or in other case- you need to block other bicycles

The hotel is very nice. Located 5 min from the main square of Trieste and one stairs away from the amfiteatre and the lift to the castle San Gusto. There is a supermarket 5 min away. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful! There is a lift and everything you need in the rooms,like shampoo and etic.

Take a look at the surroundings if you travel with elderly people. The beautiful town has lots of ups and downs and there is a big staircase, which gets you to the hotel,which is located on a hill of some sort and for people with bad legs, is not very convenient.

Can't comment on breakfast - we went to a local cafe. Location is fantastic if you want to see Trieste. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Its location is great but the price you pay is that you have to park some distance from the hotel. This was clear at the time of booking, so I have no complaints. If you do go here, its probably better not to bring any large heavy bags into he hotel unless you want a workout lifting them up 57 steps from the car park. We got round this by leaving big bags in the car (the car park appears safe) and just taking small bags into the hotel.

Room was fully renovated and very comfortable. Everything was perfectly clean. Staff was very nice. We were welcomed with a small bottle of champagne and a small panettone, which was really sweet. Our dog was welcome in the hotel and there were no extra charges. The hotel is at a silent location and room acoustic is good. The hotel is really close to downtown on foot. Beds were very comfortable and the room was warm.

Arriving by car at the hotel is a bit complicated since the streets in the area are really narrow and steep, but we managed to park on the street nearby so we did not have to pay for private parking overnight, which was good. Also, you can park your car temporarily in front of the building to leave your bags and then go park elsewhere. And you can reach downtown on foot in only a few minutes. So it's not that bad. Aside from that, breakfast was really simple with very few options. There were no fruits, no ham and cheese, no cakes or pies, no eggs nor fresh juice. Also, the coffee machine was only making espresso no matter what we chose for coffee on that day. It would be good if that could be improved because the hotel is great overall.

The hotel is in a central but quiet location with no passing traffic. Breakfast was good with a good choice. The rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious. All staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. Spacious and well-equipped bathroom. Everything immaculate. Very efficient air conditioning. Excellent quality double glazed windows which when shut cut out almost all outside noise.

Not all rooms come with a coffee machine. There wasn't always a decaf option at breakfast. The double beds are two singles securely attached but some of the mattresses are too soft for my liking.

It is a nice little hotel in a central location in trieste. If you follow the directions provided by the property it is super easy to find. We stayed only one night and for one night stay I would highly recommend it. The room is tidy and spacious, bathroom is well equipped. As others pointed out the elevator is tiny. It can barely fit two persons and one bag. The price is justified.

The bed was soft. You felt and heard individual springs. Good for one night not good for longer stays. But more troublesome than the bed is the lack of soundproofing. I was woken up ealry the morning after hearing our hotel neighbours making love. You heared all the steps that the neibours made around their room. You also caught a glimpse of conversation (and I am pretty sure they weren't talking loudly). I recommend bringing earplugs with you.

Superb location, just round the corner from a number of very good bars (and the Roman arch that gives the hotel its name) so convenient for an evening out. It's around a five minute walk down the hill (via some steps) to the Piazza Unita and about 10 to streets with good restaurants and bars. About 15 up the hill to the San Giusto church, castle and square with great views. The room we had was very good and had a sofa (we were given the option after booking to upgrade from the basic room we had). The bed was comfy and the toiletries were nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. You can leave luggage after checkout. The hotel provides breakfast for €7. We didn't bother but it looked good when we went past.

A safe deposit box would be useful.

I absolutely loved staying at this cute, little hotel. The Receptionist who dealt with me - sorry, I didn't get her name - was super friendly and helpful. I was on a 3-week tour of Greece/Croatia/Italy as a female solo traveller. This was my absolute favourite hotel of the whole holiday. The location was ideal for me and I felt completely safe stepping out late at night or getting up early for sunrise. The hotel is literally 5 minutes walk - if that! - from the main square of Trieste. My bedroom and bathroom were a lot bigger than I'd expected too.

My bed was a little creaky but I was so tired each evening after exploring Trieste that it didn't bother me one bit. So when you first sit on the bed, don't worry about the night of sleep ahead of you.

This hotel is in a great location with some lovely local bars & restaurants in the small square around the corner. The rooms are also a lot nicer than the star rating, although we did pay a bit more for a room with a balcony which I'd also recommend. But excellent facilities and a spacious room with a view of the old arch. Staff, particularly the guy on reception are lovely and very helpful with excellent English. Dream Team Bar (bad name, good bar) on the square at the back has probably the friendliest staff we encountered in any Italian bar! Parking is also secure and nearby.
