The welcomeness and flexibility of staff, amazing location, very good quality breakfast, also comfy rooms.

It was not possible for the guest of the hotel to go to have afternoon tea or sum lunch in lobby in bibliotek or vinterhaven bars. Was staying 3 nights, all days were fully booked.

The breakfast was phenomenal. The concierge - who deserves a raise - went above and beyond to help us and is single-handedly elevating the customer service of the hotel. The desserts in the cafe were fantastic. Room and specifically the bed was quite comfortable. There were a few key receptionists that were cheerful, enthusiastic and helpful. With a few tweaks would be a true luxury hotel.

Firstly, it's not actually a 5-Star hotel. There are no real valets nor bell-hops. The receptionists when available do their best to help - but it is incorrectly rated on booking.com as its actually a 4-Star. Parking was overly expensive at $55/day. I slipped and fell from a quite dangerous step in the bathroom on a waxed wooden floor and really hurt myself with extensive bruising and the receptionist at that time that I mentioned it too basically expressed indifference and made no effort of trying to resolve the problem - eg suggesting a mat or alternative solution.

Amazing breakfast buffet. Good location.

On the day of our departure we had to leave before the included breakfast buffet had opened and despite our asking if we could get a coffee or croissant to go the front desk made no effort to help us. A stark contrast to the next hotel we stayed at where they offered to provide a "to go" option for us when we were in the same situation.

From the moment we arrived, our experience at this hotel was nothing short of outstanding. The location is perfect—central, convenient, and ideal for exploring the city. But what truly made our stay memorable was the incredible staff, especially Tarik Nascimento from the concierge team. Tarik went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. His recommendations were spot-on, his support was thoughtful and proactive, and his warm, professional demeanor made us feel genuinely cared for. The room was comfortable the bed and the toiletries were of quality. The breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh and flavorful options - really good! This hotel combines luxury, comfort, and top-tier service in the best possible way. We can’t wait to return!

Breakfast – A bit of a crowd, but totally worth it. The food was excellent! The Vibe – This place is unapologetically old-school, and I loved that. It’s beautifully maintained and gave me a serious nostalgia hit—think long hallways, old-fashioned carpets, and stately furniture that made me feel like I was back on a family vacation as a kid. The Staff – Warm, welcoming, and just the right amount of professional. That little extra polish you rarely see these days.

Now, about the beds… They were a bit too narrow and a little too close together for my liking. Also, the so-called "fitted" sheet? Not quite living up to the name. I’m sure there’s a perfectly good reason I’m blissfully unaware of, but if you’re a restless sleeper, expect a bit of a wrestling match with the bedding. 😂 Still, knowing this is pretty standard across Europe, it wasn’t a dealbreaker.

We enjoyed the best hotel breakfast ever. The property was beautiful and in a great location. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The gym was outstanding.

The front desk staff, while polite and seemingly efficient, missed key elements of check-in. First and foremost, guests need to know the wifi info. Put a sign up in the rooms, put it on your TV info screens, or put a simple sign up at the front desk. Your staff seems to think we can find it, but no. Also, tell us where the gym is and a bit about the restaurant on site. Finally, the hotel provides great bulk soap and lotion. Remind the staff to refill them.

This hotel was a real pleasure. Not only is the breakfast superb, it was well thought out and efficient for hotel guests so that it felt intimate, not like a zoo of people bumping into each other to get to food.

The air in the room did not work, forcing us to leave the window open. Unfortunately the curtains(needed for those of us who can not sleep with sunlight ) blocked all air from open window. Also, the noise from pubs below was disturbing with the window open!

Overall experience was great. Location in Oslo couldn’t be any better, near lots of attractions, shops and transport links. Hotel and room were immaculate throughout our stay, even with the very wet weather. Breakfast is brilliant, great selection and staff very attentive and always on hand to help in anyway. Would recommend trying the hot chocolate a try in the Winter Garden and Library Bar.

Only complaint was one staff member, from the bar/restaurant opposite reception. Looked like a senior staff member going by her uniform. She wasn’t very pleasant or welcoming. We didn’t let this one negative put us off enjoying our time, all the other staff throughout our stay were lovely!

We decided to return to the Hotel Bristol on our return to Oslo. In addition to everything I've already mentioned, going back to a place with familiar people was quite pleasant. I hadn't mentioned the breakfast at this hotel. Fabulous. As much as you like to sleep a little longer watching the snow falling through the window, you won't want to miss it, everything is very good, the fish very fresh, the bakery, the people of the hot season. It's worth it. We followed with excellent guidance from the Concierge staff and this time we decided to visit the afternoon tea, because every day this space was full of people. And even if we are staying, we need a reservation because the event is very popular. This time, I stayed in a room on the 6th floor and could observe the city from above, all covered in snow.

Excellent central location close to everything. Stunning classic hotel. Room was spacious and beautiful, bathroom had a double sink, fantastic shower and L'Occitane products. Can't praise the staff enough. Lina, the Portuguese guy and the wonderful gentleman at reception couldn't do enough to help us and answer all our questions. We met some of the pastry chef team on a night out, and they sent a gorgeous dessert up to our room, which was a true work of art. We were able to check in earlier than the usual check-in time when we arrived and were allowed to store our luggage safely until our evening flight on the day we were leaving Honestly, we can't speak highly enough of our experience at the Bristol. If we ever find ourselves in Oslo again, we won't be booking anywhere else. Thank you for everything guys, and we wish you a happy and healthy 2025!

There were only 2 minor things that could be improved - the temperature on the air con control panel on the wall was not easy to read and there could be some hotel slippers for guests who didn't bring their own. Other than that, absolutely nothing!
