Hotel location was great just at the edge of the centre of town, room was a good size and had most things you need , large bed was very comfortable breakfast was nice .

Room safe was not working when we arrived and we had to ask twice to have it fixed , only needed new batteries. room was quite noisy during the night with other residents moving furniture around ( not sure what was going on) perhaps put some padding on the feet of the furniture to dampen sound as it really does travel at night. when checking out although there was two staff members one was dealing with another guest, the other just ignored us and left us standing eventually we had to just drop the keys on the decks before she acknowledged us.

The breakfast buffet was fabulous with options for vegans, such as vegan butter and almond milk. Dietary labels were clearly marked on individual food items. The location was great, around the corner from a T Bane stop, 5 minutes from the main shopping street and 5-10 minutes from both National Theatre and Oslo Central train stations. Staff were very helpful in advising us how to get to the Tryvann Winter Park on the T Bane (Metro) and checkin was simple and quick. Free tea and coffee in the lobby room at Reception was a very nice touch considering the outise temperature of -10 to - 12 °c! The room was clean and functional. The bathroom wasn't very big but the shower was hot and powerful. There was a plug in heater (useful for drying our ski gear), a hairdryer and a kettle. The bed was very comfortable with a warm feathered duvet!

The room was a little on the small side and the key card was a bit unpredictable with locking the door. It always worked but sometimes you'd have to try a few times. For the price and central Oslo location, we wouldn't expect the room to be bigger really.

I stayed at Hotell Bondeheimen during my recent trip to Oslo, and it was the perfect base for both relaxation and exploration. The hotel’s location is superb—within easy walking distance of major city sights, cafés and restaurants, and cultural landmarks. Oslo Central Station is just a 15-minute walk away, which made arrival and departure smooth and stress-free. The No 12 or 15 Tram takes you to Vigeland Park - the large sculpture garden in Oslo and the No 30 bus will take you to the Folk Museum. I purchase a 24hr pass for public transport in Zone 1 which includes, trams, buses, trains and some of the ferries for $129 NOK from the Tourist Information at Oslo Central Station. I booked a single room, which was located on the 5th flooor. The room was compact and basic but thoughtfully laid out. It included a comfortable bed, a desk, hanging space, a fridge and a clean, functional bathroom. It was ideal for a solo traveler looking for comfort and practicality. Breakfast was a daily highlight. The buffet offered a generous selection of hot and cold dishes, including delicious mackerel and salmon that added a distinctly Nordic touch—absolutely yummy and a great way to start the day. The staff were outstanding: consistently friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Whether offering directions or simply greeting guests with a smile, they created a warm and inviting atmosphere that made the stay feel personal. Overall, Hotell Bondeheimen offers excellent value, a central location, and a cozy, authentic Norwegian experience. I’d happily recommend it to solo travelers or anyone seeking a well-located, comfortable stay in Oslo.

Worth noting that the airconditioning is centrally controlled so you will need a fan (which you can get from reception) when it is warm as the rooms can get quite stuffy.

Great location, very clean and welcoming hotel. Breakfast had a decent selection and the restaurant was well managed. Was able to store luggage after check out. Comfortable bed and pillows.

Room was hot and couldn't work out how to adjust the temperature. Was hoping for a bath but only had a shower. Could have used some body lotion in the bathroom, although the rituals wash was lovely. Happened to be on the side of the hotel next to a karaoke bar which was pretty loud overnight for a week night!

Clean and updated rooms. Kettle, fridge, iron, hairdryer. Soft bed, hot shower. Close walk to interesting sites and also the tram which is very useful. Decent breakfast.

The streets of Oslo are very noisy at night with motorcycles and muscle cars. It wouldn’t have been a problem except I had to keep the windows open for airflow. It was warm and sunny the four days I was there and most places do not have A/C. The coat hangers were the kind that drop into plastic holders. A hotel that was this nice should include real hangers. And there was no phone in the room. They said it was because it was an old building. I had to go downstairs to request a towel. So there’s also no room service. Seems odd to not have these amenities in a hotel of this caliber.

Location is perfect. Ambiance is great, beautiful and well decorated. Breakfast is good, with good variety. Bedroom was well cleaned, well organized, and the 'touch' of having my name on the TV welcoming us as we arrived was special.

There's not a lot of places for us to organize our clothes in the bedroom. We needed to put our clothes in the chairs. Also, the bathroom floor heating was quite nice, however it just worked on the first day. We could not find a way to turn it on. Another thing is, they don't have a phone to call the reception in the bedroom, which makes things difficult for quick questions or requests. Also, the internet for the TV was faulty. We could not login to our netflix account, for example.

The hotel breakfast was hands-down the best buffet breakfast we have ever had at a hotel (and we travel a lot!), everything was fresh and delicious, and quite a variety! We stayed here two different times during our trip to Norway (once at the beginning and once at the end) - our rooms each time were very different - the 2nd one (though the same type of room we stayed in the first time) was much larger, on a higher floor, and had some AC from the hallway, we think (which was important as we were there during a huge weird heat wave).

The previous room we stayed in was on a lower floor and not ACed at all and we had to make do with fans. It was hot for folks not accustomed to a total lack of AC (not really the hotel's fault, they rarely experience heat waves like the one that happened when we were there!)

The hotel is centrally located, about 10 minutes walk to the Central Station. The room was spacious, bright and clean, had a small fridge and was cleaned daily. The bathroom was also clean, of a reasonable size. The hotel staff was friendly at all times. Breakfast was generally good, but the gluten free breakfast was very sparse.

Before traveling we asked the hotel if gluten free breakfast was available and they replied that it was. During our stay the gluten free breakfast was almost horrendous and too little. There was only gluten free bread and cereal on a side table. We expected other options such as cookies, cookies, sweet and savory foods, pastries in general but there were none unfortunately. That is a point they would have to improve. In the hotel lobby there is a coffee machine, where guests can help themselves after a long day of sightseeing, but it is chargeable.

Great central location. We walked everywhere. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The room was as described and we were very comfortable. Best though, was the breakfast. We stayed 4 nights and the offerings were so vast that we never got tired of the breakfast. Hot and cold dishes (scrambled, fried, and boiled eggs; sausages, bacon, chicken meatballs, cold cuts; fresh fruits, about 7 different breads including pastries and croissants, vegetables and relishes, cheeses.) My only "complaint" is that they do not serve proper brewed decaffeinated coffee. I can't drink caffeinated coffee for medical reasons and instant coffee is a far cry from the real stuff. Disappointing. For such a top notch hotel, I expected the real thing. Otherwise though, the breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel.

Nice hotel, about 20 min walk from train station (you need to take a train from airport to downtown Oslo), or you can take the tram near the train station that stops only 100 meters from hotel. Hotel seems popular with tourists and groups. Enormous breakfast spread, high quality. Hotel is in a convenient location for walking around Oslo or taking the city's trams. There are plenty of choices of hotels in Oslo, including many closer to train station, so choose according to your needs.

If you don't know it, Oslo is super expensive, which made 2 nights at this hotel cost as much as a week in other European cities.
