Maybe I didn’t pay attention during booking, but it exceeded my expectations! So many services are available for free like coffee and smoothies before breakfast, then afternoon tea with lots of sweet treats, wine and even late snacks and rice with many toppings. Sparkling wine for breakfast. Hot bath (communal bath) included, nice experience. Massage chairs, lots of amenities. Friendly staff, good location. If I ever return to Kyoto I will stay here again 100%. Also a small library at the lobby was so cute, my kid loved some books and they were fun even without knowing the language, had to find and buy them afterwards :)

No view, but we didn’t care at all. Other things are great.

A dream of a place . Fabulous room with a bathroom and separate toilet which helped with 3 in our room . Large bath rather than the short deep tub I’ve had in other rooms! Provision of necessities such as tooth brush. Washing machine was combined with drier making it easier to get a load done . Access to lounge with drinks during the day and great option of snacks late afternoon onwards. Walking distance to huge number of quirky little shops and restaurants as well as large department stores.

Couldn’t open the window so got a bit hot at times.

The location was convient. The staff was very helpful.

It was the 3rd time we stayed here. We loved the spacious Superior Hollywood Twin Room and booked this room type again this time. However, we were given a room much smaller than the one we stayed at the last 2 times upon arrival. According to the staff, some other rooms had been refurbished and turned into Superior Hollywood Twin Room to increase the number of this room type. Beware that some Superior Hollywood Twin Rooms are significantly smaller than others.

Hotel Intergate was an excellent hotel for multiple reasons. I chose it largely for its location which was very near to the central (Shijo) subway lines, and within walking or cross-subway distance to the East side of Kyoto (across the Kamo River), as well as a block from the Nishiki market and one subway stop from Nijo Castle. The accomodations are very good, its rates reasonable, and the ongoing food presentation from its manifold and excellent breakfasts to the variety of late-afternoon thru evening free food-and-drink provisions make it a fine place to return to and relax after a day of sightseeing. Its staff its courteous and helpful. Excellent choice.

Great place to stay with a baby. Bassinet/cot is for a new born to under one in my experience. We bought a portable cot which fit fine. The rooms are really sound proof. The hotel is so wonderful and we couldn't fault anything. The staff were so friendly and pleasant. Massage chairs are a nice touch as are the amenities! Beautiful area to stay in if you wander through the back streets away from the main road. Breakfast is fun for a one off to have a taste of Japan! We had a really pleasurable stay for 4 nights.

The facilities were excellent. The hotel has an onsen in the basement (seperate mens/womens). Very relaxing after a day's sightseeing. When we booked we knew that breakfast was included. The breakfast had a wide range of hot and cold food. There was japanese breakfast items (hot and cold). Cereals, fresh fruit and croisants and pastries. What was not known to us was that the hotel served afternoon tea/coffee/wine with cookies and tiny scones with jam and cream and rice crackers and nuts. In the evening there was more to eat a light supper of rice and a selection of toppings. Both of these were an exellent surprise. The room was very comfortable and quiet. It was a good temperature and the beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. We were provided with Jinbei style pajamas and slippers, which were handy for visiting the onsen. There are two washer/dryers which were very useful. The staff were very helpful, showing me how to use the washing machine, looking up taxi cost from a local taxi firm. The walk from the local rail stations is about 1 kilometer but the walk is flat and easy and almost a straight line on one road. The local bus service is excellent and there are lots of buses that stop only a couple of streets away. For sight seeing it is not far from the river and some picturesque streets. Also Nishiki market is not far, worth a visit for lots of fresh street food. On the day we checked out they let us leave our luggage there which we collected later in the day.

The hotel had so many meal amenities free of charge. They had a wonderful afternoon buffet. Great coffee as well. I have also liked their massage chair, after a log walking day. Great location, close enough to many tourist attractions and in a charming area. Special thanks to Mr. Chen Yi Li which have helped me with an issue I had with my luggage at Yamato Transport.

The room was small (as advertised) but very comfortable with modern fittings; Nobody can check-in until 3pm on the dot, even if the rooms are ready. I understand order is a big part of the culture in Japan but this feels a bit much

This hotel has so many things that we loved. Location is so good, for our needs, we know this city very well and we like to walk everywhere, so for us location couldn't have been better, at what you could call "city center". Main train station is a 30 minutes walk, so someone who needs to be close to the main train station won't consider it so good. Room was also very confortable, big and warm (it was freezing outside). Bed was confortable, all perfect in regards the room. The hotel also offers some amenities that are so enjoyable. For us a comunal bath, or onsen, is essential. Onsen at Intergate Hotel was good, offering many skincare products as well. There's also some snacks and drinks that you can enjoy if you happen to pass by the hotel during the day, this is also a nice treat, and breakfast was absolutely delicious! if you are looking for a Japanese style breakfast you'll definetly love it here, everything was delicious, we stayed for over a week and never got bored of eating similar dishes everyday. If you like a more western style breakfast you will also find some options. People working at the hotel is also very polite and nice.

For us it was a very pleasant stay, there is nothing that we didn't like, but there are some things to mention. The hotel is very busy, always, at all times. I guess this is a good sign, people wants to stay at this hotel. Don't expect to be alone during breakfast or at the onsen, even at 6 am, when the onsen opens it's doors, there's people, there's also people waiting for breakfast, it's not a quiet hotel. Room windows can not be opened and at some rooms there's a privacy system that doesn't allow you to see outside. Somehow it feels like there's no windows.

Almost central location (close to the metro stations and bus stops). Clean room of decent size, lovely buffet breakfast, happy (wine) hours. Friendly English speaking stuff at reception. Free tea bags can be picked up near reception. Airport bag delivery (not free).

Lack of drawers in the room so had to keep scattered every little thing. Low water pressure in the tap (although good enough in the shower). No proper window so had to use air conditioner even when it was just +7-8 outside (room becomes excessively warm very quickly, apparently when you are away for awhile and the electricity is off).

The room was very comfy and spacious, with plenty of free amenities, including different drinks and snacks across different periods. The onsen was nice, and the massage chairs were a lovely addition. Happy hour included wines and fizz, and delicious snacks that varied daily. The coffee was good.

Unfortunately, on the last night, guests were letting their children run rampant during the happy hour. What was previously a classy affair was ruined by children running around, screaming, and worst dipping their hands in the chocolate fountain, then mouth repeatedly. Staff did then have an attendee try to supervise the children around that area as much as possible, but weren’t always able to prevent it. Obviously the guests/parents’ fault the most, but it put a serious downer on our experience. A separate area for children, or maybe different hours for adults only would massively improve the experience, especially for a couple.
