The Narrowboat was well placed and central to my requirements - I attended the Cropredy Festival in Oxfordshire - as a base location. Car parking is more than adequate. The room is basic, minimalistic even. The breakfast of fruit juice, fruit and yogurt was reasonable for my needs. Tea, fruit teas, coffee and bottled water are well stocked and replenished daily. The bed was comfortable with clean fresh linen. The bathroom.was clean and towels etc also to a good high standard. There are lovely views across the Grand Union canal and fields toward Weedon Bec and Flore from the North edge of the car park, and as the weather was decent it was a nice place to take an al fresco breakfast before striking out to attend the real business of the day. I didn't get the opportunity to sample the bar or restaurant but only because my leisure activities didn't allow. At £189 for three nights it's not bad value compared to other accommodation in the immediate area, Premier Inn, Heart Of England, The Quarters to name three.
I messaged the property via the booking.com site to request an early check in. The message was ignored, a staff issue that needs to be addressed. There's no cooked breakfast option so those seeking more substantial fare to start the day will have to go elsewhere. The noise from the A5 and nearby railway can make for disturbed sleep despite the Narrow Boats rural location. The rooms could do with a lick of paint but that's purely cosmetic. There's nowhere to hang ones clothes, therefore coathangers might be a good idea. The stable style doors to the rooms aren't very secure and the glass door panel requires a curtain or blind. On this occasion I hung my rucksack on the door hook to give me some privacy.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower nice and hot and the room was very clean. There was a generous amount of tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water provided. The weather was very changeable so it was necessary to use the electric heater in the room. This was very efficient but I did suggest that operating instructions should be available in the room to assist other guests as I had to get up to turn off the heater in the middle of the night as I did not know how to use the timer function. The location was surprisingly quiet despite proximity to the A5 and there was a stunning view across the countryside from the adjacent canal. Breakfast, which was not included in the room price, was very good indeed and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Perhaps a slightly later cut off time for breakfast at the weekend currently until 9.30. Also, the towels were on the small side although they were very clean and soft.

Room, bed, pillows, shower tea making facilities were good . The bar and pub also good with a wide choice of drinks with really friendly staff. There is is also a great choice of outdoor seating overlooking the canal which would be a great spot in warmer months.
We ate at the Narrowboat on our first night and found the food only ok, for me the broccoli and stilton soup came out a packet as it was thin, watery and tasteless, the mash I suspect was instant mash which is not good enough for the money charged.

Staff were lovely and helpful. Mini fridge in room had apples, yogurts and orange juice in which was included in the price. Excellent for an early departure. I was at a car show about 20 minutes away so this was perfect. Parking right outside my room and able to push the keys through the letterbox for leaving early. Great little spot, very scenic.
There isn't much to not like. There were a few spiders in the room and it was a little stuffy in there at times but all windows opened and the stable style door was nice to let air in.

Very friendly and efficient staff on check-in. The room was spotless and spacious, a little dated, but for the price, it was terrific value and it had everything we needed for a comfortable night's stay, so we would not hesitate to return. It is next to the canal towpath so there is an easy and very enjoyable walk right on the doorstep, especially good during lighter nights. We ate in the pub and found the food to be tasty and good value.
Pillows were a bit flat.

Nice chalet style accommodation in a pleasant rural pub setting overlooking the canal and fields beyond. Nice restaurant serving quality food.
A bit remote if you don't have a car and on a busy A road so quite a lot of traffic noise while in the pub garden (although not in the rooms) which is always off-putting for me. The pub itself could do with some smartening up externally but inside it's fine.

Location beside canal is excellent. Restaurant and pub is lovely. Accommodation suited our needs. Fairly quiet, clean with coffee tea, biscuits and bottled water in room. Ensuite bathroom.
Bathroom ensuite needs an overhaul. Although clean, the floor tiles were cracked and rocking on the floor, could cut feet in chipped tiles. The grout on tiles looked rusty. Shower stall nice size, but needs to have rust stains removed and tile work fixed. Bed was creaky and lumpy but clean.

Handy location. Excellent price. Friendly staff, nice meals available in the pleasant pub onsite and handy for the towpath on the other side of the canal to have a walk alongside the narrow boats. The room was clean and tidy with parking immediately outside so really accessible and the bed, immaculately clean and super comfortable.
Nothing really. There was a bit of road and rail noise, but not too bad. The room was cold when we arrived, but soon warmed up once heating was put on.

The location was superb. I had the small breakfast which was included with my booking this was far from small and very good. I had a meal at night this was also of good quality. The rooms were small self contained units but very comforable. These were situated at the far end of the car park.
With the rooms not located in the main Pub building and located at the far end of the car park I would have felt more secure with a mortice lock fitted on the doors not a standard Yale lock, I never left anything of value in the rooms when I was out due to this. Some could say I was nit picking but worth noting all the same.

The location was great for our trip. The staff were welcoming and the evening meal was very good. Access to the canal towpath for anpre-dinner walk was good. I have travelled past this location many times and didn't realise they did rooms. Will stay again.
The only downer on the trip was the cleanliness of the shower/toilet area. Could do with a deep clean. Perhaps some new lamp bulbs would also help. Wasn't aware of the no breakfast situation.
