Great location. Lovely old hotel with a charming entrance. Excellent staff all round that were very helpful. A shout out to Joanna and Andreia. Great housekeeping. Lovely room with high ceilings and a very large balcony. Large bar fridge. Yummy breakfast porridge. Turndown service chocolates. Comfortable bed. Lots of storage space. Florbela Pâtisserie - we ate there a couple of times and the food was delicious but very expensive!

Spongy floor that shook the whole room as you walked around. The abundance of mirrors in the bathroom area was very disconcerting. So much so, that you had to be careful not to walk into it. The breakfast area where the buffet was laid out was very awkward. You had to tuck your head under the low ceiling to serve yourself, which brought your head and face into very close proximity to the food. That was neither hygienic nor comfortable.

This is an amazing property located in the heart of Porto. We did a lot of meticulous research when choosing our accommodations in Porto and we opted for Torel Palace because of its location, the size and amenities offered in the rooms, and the property's amazing design including all of the seasonal decor they put up for the holidays. We stayed in room #23, which is on the top floor and features a bathroom with an incredible skylight. The hotel's restaurant, Blind, offers an indulgent breakfast and if you go for dinner, the tasting menu is a unique experience for the adventurous. During our stay, we had the absolute pleasure of being assisted by Bruna, who consistently went above and beyond to ensure our stay and vacation was nothing short of amazing. Bruna's warm and welcoming personality immediately made us feel at home, and she took the time to understand our interests and preferences and tailoring her recommendations to create a truly personalized experience. Whether it was guiding us to amazing restaurants, arranging private boat tours, or just giving us a general overview of everything we should see in the city, Bruna's expertise was invaluable. Overall, I would easily recommend Torel Palace as a home away from home for any of my friends traveling to Porto. Thank you to the entire Torel Palace team for making our stay truly special!!

An amazing experience from The moment we walked in the door. From The friendly staff, welcome aperitif, car parking service and hotel tour it could not be a more positive arrival. The interior is beautiful and the rooms Are pristine- more treats waiting upon arrival to the room. They helped us find a last Minute dinner reservation at an amazing place with an incredible view - miraculously at the start of Sao Joao when the city was packed with people and energy. We had an early flight out the next morning and they sent us off with packed breakfast. It got us most of the way home.

Nothing, it’s amazing

We stayed in Royal Suite and indeed it perfectly matches its description as an epitome of luxury where antique furniture and modern design pieces form its unique style. Room is beautiful, perfectly renovated, the ceiling is truly a piece of art, onyx lavatories are stunning and the mirror glass cube that serves as bathroom visually adds additional space. Reception team is extremely helpful and friendly (particular thanks go to Francesca who helped us with the bookings of restaurants, train tickets and winery visit) and you just cannot miss its Michelin star restaurant BLIND - truly unique and inspirational experience. Torel Palace Porto is where modern comfort and antique spirit make beautiful combination

Just one comment where design might be improved: toilet in bathroom really needs a proper door and hygienique douche would also be useful there.

Romantic atmosphere, well taken care of and clean, good location. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff.

I liked everything, except that the breakfast, it needs more staff. The 3 persons serving need to run around the entire morning and the guests wait long time for the ‘a la carte order’ (the warm meals not on the buffet), such as eggs and coffee. This could be improved but absolutely no fault from the staff but from management. The staff is excellent, friendly and super polite and accommodating . The restaurant take allergies seriously, what’s a big plus. The ambiance is absolutely lovely.

The location is good as it is a short walk to the train station and there is a square near by with a number of excellent restaurants. The hotel is on a somewhat quieter street and that is a plus. Our room with a balcony was great for sitting outside with a table and two chairs. The staff is great and very helpful with local recommendations etc. The breakfast is excellent and they made accommodations to prepare a breakfast to go on our checkout day as we had an early flight. Would definitely stay again

It would be nice to have an additional dining option as Blind is quite exclusive and not practical for a casual dinner. The nearby restaurants were great but sometimes you just don't want to venture out. Our room was stylish but not as functional as we would have liked. Seating area had two wing chairs but no table to set a drink.

This hotel is perfectly located and very well managed. The whole experience was complimented by expert staff with impressive manners and can-do attitudes. The food and drinks always came with a story (and great quality too)! The bedroom was perfect, quiet and comfortable! Turn-down service was an absolute gem and I’m glad to see that hotels aren’t neglecting that ritual which always seems to add a certain allure to one’s experience! Reliable and exciting are two words I’d use to describe them / the hotel!

Staff professional and very helpful with arrangements for dining, transportation and locating an open pharmacy on Sunday morning. Breakfast is generous . Two other food options in hotel as well. Our junior suite was spacious. Bed was comfortable. A welcoming bottle of cava and petit fours were a nice surprise. Well located for river walks.

The junior suite we were assigned did not have a sitting area other than a couple benches in niches and one small chair. It did have a desk which came in handy. However I had booked a suite specifically expecting expanded seating options. This was a minor disappointment.

First and foremost, the staff were tremendous!! They were incredibly helpful organizing our visit to Portugal, long before we’d arrived and throughout our stay (restaurant reservations, booking wonderful Douro tour as well as other train arrangements and more). The hotel itself was anything you wanted it to be- quiet spots to read or relax, popular lounge, beautiful building with historical stories to tell. The restaurant Blind was a once in a lifetime experience, if we had a vote they’d get a Michelin star! We’ll stay here again when we return to Porto.

Having to leave.

This was the highlight of our trip. The service was amazing. Breakfast was the best meal of our days. Breakfast had fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, delicious meats and made to order eggs etc. do not miss out on breakfast. The service was lovely. There was a port wine tasting that was fabulous. There was a turn down service with chocolates. Air conditioning. The hotel itself was totally picturesque with a huge staircase. The staff made reservations for us for dinner and fado and port tasting. I wish we could have stayed longer.
