Clean, comfortable, VERY central, with helpful staff, charming owner, good breakfast and basement parking. Our room was well lit, quiet and with a lift to the top floor. All good.

The new digital keypad entry system for the rooms needs work. The street door works fine but while the room keypad functioned well all day, at ten at night, stone cold sober, it wouldn't let us in the room - and we tried repeatedly. (It didn't help that the corridor lighting didn't come on.) My guess is that if you fluff the code once or twice, it shuts down and you have to wait for it to reset - it eventually worked after a ten minutes wait, no explanation. So be VERY exact. No kettle, we British need tea in the morning!

The location of the hotel was excellent for pedestrian access to all the local historic sites, pedestrian precinct, pubs and restaurants Breakfast was of a good quality with a lot of variety.

We always find it frustrating to have to pay for parking - especially when the parking is within the grounds of the hotel itself.

In a great location in the centre of town, literally a couple of minutes walk from the main square. Better still, it has a small underground car park available for a small extra charge, accessibleby lift strsight into the hotel; well worth it if travelling by motorcycle like we were. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room we had was a bit small but ideal for our needs and it was clean. Despite being so close to the main shopping area with lots of cafes and restaurants it was very quiet in the evening and at night, which meant that with the comfy bed, we got really good nights sleep.

I can't think of a negative. It was ideal for our two nights stay in Trier.

Hotel obviously had regular attention from the proprietor.Organisation and maintenance was perfect.Breakfast was well up to the standard expected for this modest price.Excellent range of teas. The bedroom had a firm bed and good airconditioning. Bathroom had no annoying modern impractical features.Adequate furniture and a safe. Central location was useful.In view of my frequent mishaps in this area,I quite liked having a dental clinic downstairs!

The curtains were at least 1 metre TOO SHORT- excessive light intrusion into the room was unacceptable in summer. This is the sole reason for my lower rating.

The location within steps of the pedestrian zone was very convenient, with parking immediately underground (extra $) a real plus. Breakfast buffet (extra $) was delicious and nicely presented. The room was comfortable, stylish and well-appointed. And if you like air-conditioning like we do, it's fantastic! The entire hotel felt clean, safe, friendly and guest service oriented.

I'm more than willing to whine given the chance, but I have no complaints about Hotel Aulmann. Some rooms are not accessible with the lift, but the hotel offered to carry luggage.

Location was perfect. Easy access to walking zone right out the front door. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Parking spaces are very small and for the same fee we parked in the City Garage just two minutes walking distance. The third bed in the room for three people was so hard it was not possible for any person to sleep on. I would not recommend the large room for 3 people if you have a third person. The regular double beds were very nice. No complimentary coffee or coffee making options in the hotel. We walked to nearby cafe's and enjoyed coffee in the city. The hotel charges 2.50 for a cup of coffee from a machine.

The bed for the third person in the three person room was too firm to sleep on. No one was able to sleep on the bed for the third person. No complimentary coffee available at the hotel or in your room. No water boiler either.

Location is great, room was clean and very quiet at night.

The room is quite basic, lacking both a refrigerator and a coffee maker. We opted out of the breakfast option for an extra charge since there are plenty of coffee shops in the area. The WiFi is public and doesn’t require a password, which is convenient but raises some security concerns, so we decided to use our phone's hotspot instead.

It was a good breakfast and great location with a friendly staff and clean rooms - loved the big towel warmers.

The windows need updating - it was very loud the Saturday night I stayed but quiet Sunday and Monday; fortunately I travel with earplugs. I'd still stay again.

Comfortable and practical room, good breakfast. The mattress is comfortable. Good coffee at breakfast.

The way to enter the room is awkward. There is a 6 number digit to be entered into a keyboard attached to the door instead of a key card. To open the door was always a challenge because the opening knob did not work smoothly after entering the 6 digit code. Pillows were uncomfortable.

The hotel is located in the pedestrian area of the old town, close to all attractions. The room was quite spatious, with a big bathroom. The system with access codes on every door works but is a bit of an overkill.

We felt that breakfast was overprices for the choice it offered: no warm dishes, no lactose-free products (milk was available one day but disappeared the next), one choice of cake... Also, we were asked to prepay breakfast at check-in, which is unusual.
