Location couldn’t be better - right at the station and gondola, across from the lake. Staff were enthusiastic and kind throughout, made us feel really welcome. The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast great. Little extras like shuffleboard and the kids games room made it even more fun. Voss itself was a fantastic place to spend a few days. When our son was unwell during the night, the staff member (manager?) who helped us went above and beyond and did so cheerfully and with compassion, even though it was clear she was extremely busy.

A bit of noise from the train station as our room faced the tracks, but only a handful of trains came through each night.

Excellent variety and quite tasty breakfast m. Fresh produce. Located next to bus stop and train station. Extremely friendly staff. Well maintained and hygienic. Very close if you wa t to go Skiing.

Nothing to dislike. Good value for money especially if you’re travelling with family.

Breakfast was FANTASTIC. One of the best I've been to. Location very central and close to good parking (not free). Rooms clean and well supplied with the necessities. Price was good value and service very courteous and professional.

Our window overlooked the passing goods/passenger railroad - trains passed at fairly frequent intervals resulting in rumbling noises and vibrations. We could not open window(s) which was required due to hot weather. AC or fans not available, but I guess this is normal in Norway. If you need to stay at this hotel (still recommended) try for a city/fjord-facing room which should obviously be quieter.

Cleanliness, convenience to the train station, city center, etc. Great food at dinner; extensive selection at breakfast buffet. Voss is somewhat of a transportation hub, with things to see and do locally, as well as starting point for travel to several other attractions. (Vik, Stalheim, Njardarheimur, Nærøyfjorden, Flåmsbana, Myrkdalen ski center, etc.).

Weather has been VERY warm there lately, and most hotels in Norway do not have (or need) air conditioning. Ability to control the room temperature was inadequate for the circumstances; there was one small window that could be opened to provide cooler air, but there was no breeze or way to circulate it. Unusual circumstances, not really the fault of the hotel. My wife and I shared the room with our adult son who accompanied us on the trip. He slept on the sofa that had been pulled out.....this made the room more cramped. Would recommend this room for a couple only.

– The breakfast and dinner were very good. While the selection wasn’t huge, everything looked delicious and well-prepared. It was especially nice to see lactose-free and gluten-free options — a rare find. – The sauna with a lake view was a real highlight. – The interior design of the hotel is beautiful and creates a cozy atmosphere.

– The room could have been cleaned more thoroughly — there was dust in the corners, and the floor didn’t feel very clean. – Maybe we did something wrong, but the curtains in the building seemed to have a life of their own. They opened and closed by themselves — once even in the middle of the night, which was loud, unexpected, and honestly a bit frightening.

Ideal for early train. Good for lake and town. Clean and good shower - best of 3 Scandics so far.

No kettle, no room safe. Not advertised as such but scandic oslo and lillehammer have both. Reception said to carry hor water in a cardboard cup in the lift (with young children about?). No thanks. Card said if you wanted room cleaning on the first day use QR code or tell reception before 23.00. Not confident with QR codes so told reception at 20.00. They refused to book it (point blank)....I am 75 and don''t look a day under 80, So no cleaning took place. Reception redefined??

The hotel is very new and clean. It’s kid-friendly, featuring a Nintendo Switch at reception and movie nights in a big hall. Breakfast is great as usual. Parking is convenient if you research the entrance; just be aware it’s not free and requires payment at the kiosk or via the EasyPark app (which can be unreliable). The room is quiet when all windows are closed, though it can get noisy if slightly open due to the busy train tracks below.

I found it a bit inconvenient to go downstairs twice just to request two extra pillows. The responsiveness could definitely be improved.

Location is excellent and within a walking distance from the train station. It is also close to the Voss Gondol and not far from the lake. The buss terminal is near level 1 of the hotel with buses that go to different cities. We stayed for 7 nights and the room has a nice view at the lake. The breakfast was excellent and it has variety of options. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful.

The hotel has no amenities in the room. You have to buy the tooth brushes. No kettle in the room and the tea is offered for a fee (25 krona per cup). Sometimes, the ladies at the reception are so nice to offer the tea for free. The frequency of cleaning is not as often and sometimes our room is missed from cleaning. The treadmills machines on the gym are faulty. The hotel does not have laundry place.

This hotel had more of a business feel to it and less of a holiday feeling. The room was quite big and I could see the fjord from my window. I felt nice and toasty during the night. The bathroom was also quite big. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It was fresh, delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately, the dinner buffet wasn't quite as good. The dishes were a bit boring and not quite as good or exciting as they could have been. I enjoyed the sauna with a balcony for cooling down and enjoying a view of the fjord. There was only a bit of an odd smell coming from the shower drain. The bus stop and the train station are right next to the hotel, which made arrival and departure very convenient for me. During October the town was rather quiet and there seemed to be not too many visitors. It looks like it is much busier during skiing season.

This was such a beautiful experience for us. We were two Indian families going around in Norway, and were concerned that Voss would not have much to offer. But our stay at this place made up for it. The location is convenient and right next to the train station, although some of the late night trains may wake you up. There were good play areas within the premises of the hotel and the breakfast buffet was sumptuous. Lastly, my wife and I wanted to do the Trolltunga hike, and the staff were super kind to arrange for our travel to the trailhead which was about 2 hours south. Kudos to the staff for making this happen.

Late night trains may wake you up, so keep those windows shut.
