Stunning views from hostel. Reception, common room and breakfast room comfy and homely (in a nice way :) ). Comfy bed. A delicious buffet breakfast (fresh fruit, home made jams etc.) was unexpectedly included in the room price. Staff friendly and helpful, and atmosphere between guests friendly too. Guitar and piano available for guests to play. Enjoyed a delicious meal at the Tre Brør cafe in town. Central location for exploring region by bus (try the 950, 990 & 925) & train (to Bergen or Myrdal)

When I was there the microwave needed cleaning and had no rotating dish. Personally I found the town itself rather lacked charm.

Everything was amazing. I booked a tour for a quick fjords visit from Oslo but decided to get my accommodation separately, so I wasn’t expecting much especially for just one night. If it weren’t the case that I was flying out of Norway the following day I would have extended my stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff super nice and welcoming, the breakfast buffet had probably everything you can ask for. And the view? Breathtaking. I don’t think you can ever beat that view from your room/the restaurant, it really made me feel a sense of peace I wasn’t even looking for. I hope I get to visit Voss again, I’ll definitely stop by. Takk!!

Nothing, everything exceeded my expectations.

The location on the fjord with a beach was great fun for a cool swim after a warm day.The atmosphere is relaxed. The staff very understanding.Indeed the restaurant staff accommodated us for dinner at their closing time. The restaurants in town said there was a visa issue with foreign cards. After not being able to get cash from the atm and trying all our cards we went back to the hostel. So our card worked and we got fed...miracle we were so grateful. Reception staff also were able to loan us a Frisbee. Dinner and Breakfast were great.

The set up is simple small wet room bathroom with shower. No frills. There was a shared kitchen too. We were satisfied with the room and facilties. Would have tried the sauna if we knew we were allowed.

Even though it is a hostel, we actually stayed in a room with 2 double bunks and a separate twin bed, with our own bathroom. Location is great, value was good. Breakfast was just excellent! Had to pay a bit extra, like 9-10 euros or something like that. They allow you to pack anything you want from breakfast and take with you for an extra charge. Free parking,. Nice staff. Clean, relatively quiet.

Spartan white tile bathroom without a shower stall, sprays water everywhere, then you have to wipe it with a shower cleaner (or whatever this thing is called).

Standard norwegian breakfast, staff willing to help, cozy fireplace, everything looks like it used to in the cabins in the 80s, not much hazzle to get to from the train station, just follow the gravel path along the lake for 10 min from the library outside the train/bus station. Great for kids who want to run around afte a dip at Vossabadet or fun in the snowy mountains above

Not the most modern rooms and not all sockets have power in them( just test them so you don't end up with a dead phone in the morning), but it is fine, and above what one should excpect for the price at Voss.

The breakfast is very good with lots of choice. Great coffee! Matilda at the front desk was thorough with all the necessary information, and very welcoming. The hostel accommodated my need to get breakfast as early as possible so I could catch the early train to Myrdal.

The shower is going to be a challenge for some folks: it's not a separate enclosure from the rest of the bathroom fixtures. Pro tip: lower the height of the adjustable shower head, and only use the water to briefly wet down before lathering and for rinsing. If you shower like an American (I can say this, I'm American) you're going to have a flood on your hands.

This hostel is very cozy with beautiful location right by the lake. Our favourite part was the breakfast which was delicious, had a good selection, and since the weather was good we could have it on a balcony with a lake view. The hostel also had everything else we needed - a kitchen with the most important supplies and it was even possible to rent a sauna (which we did not). We came to Voss to join an activity by Outdoors Norway and the hostel was very near the meeting point but also not far from the train station.

We wish the beds would have been a bit more comfortable. Also, although we were two people, we could only book a family room with bunk beds - we wish there was more options. However the price for the entire room was also very reasonable.

Great breakfast including options for vegan/gluten free and nice breakfast room with view of lake. Use of the lakeside sauna is possible for a fee but check the days/times as not always available and beware it is a steep walk down to the (rocky) beach to go in the water. Walkable from train station and back into town for restaurants etc.

The curtain was quite thin and let light through which seemed an oversight considering it is known for being a place with lots of light near the summer solstice. There were leaflets about a food orchard etc but that seemed to be wasteland when we were there - no problem, but sounded like a good idea and would have been cool to see it!

The room was perfect for a one night stay. The beds were comfortable and the location on the waters edge is beautiful. The included breakfast was also very tasty with lots of options.

The bathroom is very small, with no separate shower area (no doors or shower curtain) so water goes everywhere when you take a shower. The staff also weren't very friendly or informative when we checked in. They told us our room number and that was it. We had to ask where breakfast was, where the guest kitchen was, process for checking out etc.

The view towards the lake is wonderful and serene. You can enjoy the view also at breakfast, which was, by the way, very nice, varied, tasty. Coffee was also very good. Other than breakfast you can prepare your meal in a little kitchen and we ate it outside, at a picnic table, by the lake. The room.was very comfortable, big enough, beds with optimal softness/firmness. We slept very well. There was also a sauna - didn't use it because it was already booked. In the evening we could relax on the sofa in a cosy library and there was.also a TV to watch. Staff was very welcoming and friendly.

We have only seen the sign about taking the bed sheets outside of the room the moment we left the key at the reception for checkout, we went back to do it, but then we were in a hurry to go to the train station. Next time we know.
