It’s location staff very good Drink to expensive even for a hotel

We had a lively room the only trouble you could hear next door and the door fire door probably constantly banging every time some one went through banging 307

Great location just steps from the beach. Lovely sun terrace. The room was bright clean and spacious with very comfortable bed. Full English breakfast was very good and plentiful.

Booked a table in the restaurant well in advance, waited 10 minutes to be seated even though it wasn’t busy. Food was not as described and was pretty poor. Spoke to the waitress who said she would pass our feed back on to the chef. We spoke to the hotel manager the following day upon check, he dealt with our complaint swiftly and professionally. Would definitely return to the hotel but would not eat in the restaurant again.

The hotel was nice and the staff were all very good. Really liked the bar area. We had a lovely view from our double room. The room was big enough, the bathroom was dated but clean and functional. The room was serviced all 3 days of our stay. The breakfast was good but I would recommend adding it when booking as it wasn't that good that you would pay over £18 on the day.

We had two evening meals in the hotel, one which was the Valentines meal. It was OK but not as good as I would have expected. We had to wait quite a while for the Valentines main course, I had the beef, it was awful and mainly inedible, it was meant to have a stuffed mushroom but didn't and the plate was 3/4 filled with mash. In addition whilst the music is enjoyable in the bar area it is really annoying in the dining room both for breakfast and dinner. There was a wedding function with a disco, which was fine but the music was also left playing in the dining room, it wasn't a nice atmospere. All the staff were helpful and pleasant, some very young but they did a good job, I think the Hotel would benefit from someone overseeing events.

Pools being open to the public.. They took most of the sun beds the time we were there, which caused friction.. Sadly saw bullying by non residents towards hotel residents for sun beds.. Management called, but clearly let non residents stay on site. Not good!!!..

Breakfast provided a wide choice. Management was excellent and alternatives available. Dinner offered two menus and was reasonably priced for a hotel. The Brasserie offered drinks and a small menu. Drinks were expensive. The staff were attentive and worked hard to ensure guests comfort.

The design of the bathroom was not conducive with anyone with a mobility issue. The lavatory in our room was right next to the door, with no handholds. The toilet roll holder was almost behind you.The non slip spots on the floor in the bath should have covered all the floor of the bath not just the ends.

The front desk team made us feel incredibly welcome—friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The hotel itself exudes charm and elegance, steeped in rich history that adds a unique character to the stay. It’s a true landmark on the seafront, and the views of the bay are simply stunning. One of the highlights was the spa treatment by Scott, which was absolutely excellent. . Throughout our stay, every member of staff we encountered was courteous and professional, making us feel valued and well cared for. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a family getaway. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for such a lovely experience.

We did encounter a couple of issues that affected our sleep quality. At night, we could clearly hear creaking sounds from the room above, which became quite disruptive. Combined with the lack of air conditioning, it made for a bit of a difficult sleep.

Its location for the train station is brilliant. The staff were wonderful. A real credit to themselves. The bar area was very social but not too much. A very comfortable atmosphere.

The creaky floorboards in our room. (107) the view of the bar roof that was dirty and tatty flags. That roof should be swept and maybe a few pot plants up there. It’s not the view I was expecting. The shower over the bath was very difficult to get into due to nothing to hold on to and the shower screen. It is a very old building and the cracks do show but the charm out ways the bad bits. The food was excellent

The location of the hotel was amazing. There is a sandy beach across the road and the harbour side a short walk away. We stayed in a family room (1 x King & 1 bunkbeds) which was very big. Our 7yr old and 4 yr old loved the bunkbeds and said they were really comfy. We spent every day of our 4 day trip in the outdoor poor which was heated and large enough to accommodate everyone. There are sun loungers and deck chairs located around the outside which allowed us to relax in the sun whilst the children played safely in the pool. Food was fantastic, we had breakfast each morning and an evening meal twice.

The pool changing room facilities need refurbishing. They were very run down and not pleasant to use. We only used them on our first visit and then just went up and down from our in our towels as you could get the lift from the indoor pool area.

A lovely hotel in a great location. The staff were so helpful and friendly. They were truly wonderful! They helped us with our bags and were quick to get anything we needed. The outdoor pool was nice and warm and very clean. It was great for a swim and there was a warm shallow children's pool too, which was perfect for my daughter. The location was great and right by the seafront with lovely views! The breakfast was really nice and the staff were very attentive and were bringing out alternatives when asked. The bar was reasonably priced for drinks and they offered plastic cups for poolside which was great for grabbing a squash or fizzy drink. It was great value for money. The room was spacious and had a TV with a good selection of on demand channels.

The facilities were a little dated, including the indoor pool and the bathroom in the room.

The Grand was perfect for our needs. Travelled with my mother with walking disabilities. The hotel was accessible with a mobility scooter. The staff were great. We used the bag drop on arrival before check-in at 3 pm, and our bags were in our room on return. We also used this on departure. The hotel has beautiful views if you book a sea view room. Our room had the bonus of a balcony accessible via a sash window. It was a nice feature we weren't expecting. Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast had a good spread enough for all. A walk-in shower for my mum and a lovely deep bath for me. The location is perfect and easy to get around.

The breakfast on a weekday finishes quite early at 9.30 am. Not much options if you don't like full English. The balcony is accessible via a sash window. It's a bit of a steep climb. External areas of the building could do with a paint quite a lot of wear and tear. The changing rooms for the internal pool really could do with modernising. Same for the internal pool area.
