The room was lovely and light, very clean, and although the bathroom was quite 'cozy', it had everything needed, with a powerful hot shower in the bath. We decided to book in for a breakfast, which was very good value for money, lots of choices, and very tasty. All the staff were very polite, professional and helpful. Only a short, easy walk alongside the beach towards the Theatre, we were visiting. There are plenty of eateries along the way too

The view of the car park wasn't very scenic, but I didn't ask for a room with a view, as we were only in for one night. There were a few 'springy' moments with the mattress, but still comfortable

I came with a sprained ankle from a hike on Dartmoor. I was limping, but I was not aware of how serious it was until I got into my room and saw my ankle very swollen and bruised. As I was not sure what to do, I went to the reception to ask for some advice, and one member of the staff took a look and adviced me to go to the A&E. More so, one other member of the staff offered himself and took me with his own car to a hospital in Torquay. Luckily I found out there was no rupture, but I will never forget the help from the hotel staff. Thank you very much!

Where the hotel is situated is lovely - panoramic views of Torquay. Easy commute in to Torquay, Torbay & paignton. Staff absolutely spot on. Bar food was nice & reasonably priced. Available most of the day. Continental breakfast not worth the money - full English buffet was really good.

Parking! Absolute nightmare ! £10per day to park - no spaces when you get back in the evening. The Staff did help us enormously - I'm a blue badge holder - & we did get a space after tge manager did some car shuffling.

Our room was adequate for size and reflected the amount per night that we were charged through Booking.com. The view was okay, on to a quiet side road and not the very busy Torquay-Paignton main road. The breakfast was absolutely first class - great choices, beautifully cooked and presented.

Our only issue was with very late 'walk-in' clients at 02.30am who were noisy and talked incessantly in their room through to 7am when they left. The hotel night porter did all that he could to resolve the situation but without success. However, in the morning, the management were most apologetic, refunded us one night's stay and assured us that this was a most unfortunate 'one-off' event which we absolutely accept. We will stay again as the hotel is charming, the staff welcoming and the facilities first class.

Very pet friendly. They set up a breakfast table in the bar area so that we could take our dog with us when we had breakfast. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We had a bar meal each night of our stay and the food was good with a good selection on the menu.

The parking at the hotel is a nightmare as there are functions every day at the hotel and if you take your car out for the day you wont get it back into a parking space again. Reserved parking for guests is necessary.

Fantastic location. Sea view room is exactly that. Staff are all so friendly and willing to help. We stayed in the Perry suite which is fascinating. It is not one of the modernised rooms and still has an art deco style bathroom which is huge. Hot water was plentiful, shower was easy and pumped pressure. This room gave us plenty of space to change for our Christmas dance night in the ballroom. (Fortnightly social dancing.) This is definitely a Marmite room; if you can accept it for what it is....quirky, then it is superb. If you are looking for immaculate decor and updated fittings then best go for one of the modernised rooms. To modernise this room would probably be to ruin it! Breakfast was very good, buffet style full English (for me...my wife was more modest), all cooked very cleanly and nicely presented. Lovely sized ballroom.

No heating in the bathroom, we coped, but in colder weather this could be a bit of a shock. (the room itself was well heated). Wallpaper was damaged in places and could be stuck back. Bathroom was not very clean, the mat was grubby, there was some black grout and the drinking water glasses would benefit from a run through the dishwasher. Possibly the room is not frequently used. We would stay there again though.

We stayed for a week in this excellent hotel ,handily located between Torquay and Paignton, From the moment we arrived reception staff were cheerful,helpful and efficient.The view over the bay is stunning. Parking was easy and the room was of a good size providing everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent,and again,waiting staff were cheerful and efficient. We really enjoyed our stay and will hope fully return later in the year.

I have done weight-training over the years,which helped with operating the lift,which could cause problems for the frail and elderly. Apart from this,most enjoyable.

We had a lovely view but needs updating , pink bath white toilet,old dated wardrobes and carpets .

The pillows were rock hard no bounce , the shower wasn’t very powerful , if you needed tea and coffee you had to move the kettle to heat it near the 1 socket in the room and then if you needed the light you had to unplug for the that , no charging points for phones so again the same plug had to be used , the breakfast was very dry think it had been in the hot plates for a long time it was only warm to eat . The lift was like something out of the twilight zone and could only get two people In at a time .

Our room was large, clean, nicely furnished and had large windows giving a wonderful view of Torbay. The bed was large and comfortable. The room was serviced each day. The restaurant was very busy at breakfast time as a couple of coach parties were staying in the hotel but we were able to have a table for two near a window. All the elements of a good hotel breakfast were available and the food was plentiful and good. Bar meals in the evening were very good and served quickly in the comfort of the bar lounge with its views of the garden and sea. Hotel staff were always friendly, attentive and helpful.

We have no real criticisms; we chose the Livermead Cliff Hotel because because we like it, having had a couple of brief stays there in the past. Minor criticisms - the hot water in our bathroom took a little while to reach the taps or shower and once it did, it ran very hot indeed; careful adjustment of the shower controls was needed! At night the floodlights illuminating the exterior of the hotel also lit up the room like day (although the brightest ones went off at midnight) meaning either shutting the blinds and curtains (and therefore shutting out the view and fresh air from open windows) or trying to sleep in an undarkened room. My wife and I managed to reach a satisfactory compromise between the two..

The staff were amazing and super friendly during our whole time at the hotel. The beach was a stones throw away, which was great for morning swims. Beds super comfy and the rooms were spacious.

It was quite expensive and quite outdated but that's to be expected with an older hotel. Because it was warm we had the windows open and I was woken up by the glass bin being emptied outside at 3am.
