A very classy feel about the place; the rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The kitchenette has everything one would need (I didn't use much except the coffee - very good it was). Whilst the hotel does not have a restaurant, there are several excellent places to eat within a minute or two's walk including a Michelin-mentioned one next door. One of the best hotels in Manchester.
Nothing, really. On pretty much everything, the hotel is top class.

Great location just off Canal Street - and minimal street noise. Very comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved the decor and general vibe, especially the large windows. All very clean. Almost all the amenities you could want. Clear pricing for the minibar etc so you wouldn't spend on anything by accident!
Can hardly fault the place really. Would have preferred a light by the bathroom mirror to be able to do make-up etc - the only two mirrors available were in quite dark or backlit areas of the room which made this difficult! The pillows were a bit soft for my liking, but that's personal preference.

The staff were friendly and professional. The room was a great size and modern decor. I loved the stripped back bricks of the old building. Great for fully self-catering or mixing with catered facilities in or near the hotel. Bathroom was a good size with an excellent shower. The controls were not overly complicated as some showers are and they were conveniently away from the shower-head so you don’t get dowsed in cold water when it is turned on. Despite being centrally located with lots of bars around it was very quiet and we didn’t need to use the provided earplugs.
Corridors were dark, lift could be slow. On the ground floor the lift buttons flickered continuously which could be a problem for people with photosensitivity. On the third floor the down button didn’t work. Not impressed with meat, cheese, milk and yoghurt displayed in sunny window position for breakfast.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I travel all over the world for work (and pleasure) but I live in Britain and know what it can be like selecting a hotel in an area you know but still don’t quite know. This place is fab! The building itself is one of quaint historic preservation. The entry is comfortable, much nicer than bright lights and a huge desk. Staff were very kind and although I didn’t need help because I simply wanted to rest, everyone was calm and happy to greet me. My room, hands down was an absolutely perfect set up. Sofa, tv, small kitchen, a little table and ‘good’ coffee and tea in room. Then crossing into the bedroom - a large and very comfortable bed, deep tub in the room, a tv plus a closet and a loo with a great shower. The thing is, there has been a lot of thought in the placement of furniture and layout, plus lighting—I prefer muted lighting and watching tv last night was like being at home. I cast from my accounts to both TVs. Furnishing nice. Snacks were great and since I actually was so comfortable I basically just ate most of the snacks instead of going out, olives, hummus crisps, a couple other random things. Although not overly healthy to just eat snacks, at least some alternative options were there. A tiny bottle of milk was in the fridge. It’s the little touches that make life easier. Only suggestion, perhaps a lightweight sofa throw…but that’s a first world problem. Big coffee cups in the room. And the location is absolutely great—couldn’t be better. Right there and easy to get anywhere if I needed to. I’ll definitely come back here. I didn’t try the breakfast because I needed to get to my meetings and I was so comfortable I stayed in my room until the very last minute. Picturesque and pleasant. This hotel is permanently on my list for Manchester stops.

I have stayed here before and liked it so much I stayed again. It is convenient for the train station and the city centre which is all walkable. It is in the Gay district so has a great vibe. Restaurants etc are very convenient. The room is excellently designed and comfortable. Bed is comfy and the shower is great and powerful. The wifi is very good. I suppose if you want a quiet neighbourhood then this is not it but I liked the atmosphere and vibe so happy here. I think it is god value for money for the quality you get. There is a small lobby where you can sit if you are on your own and get a drink.
all good

The hotel is fantastically located, just on top of Canal Street and a 2 minute walk from Piccadilly. It’s only a 5-10 minute walk to the main center and 15 or so from the Rylands library. The room was really spacious and very clean. The staff were all really helpful and checking in and out was very quick. We would absolutely stay here again! Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Everything was great. No complaints at all. I think the only potential issue could be that it’s slightly noisy being next to Canal Street. Wasn’t an issue for us though.

Everything was excellent, the location, the staff, the room, and an absolute bargain for what you get. One of the nicest places I've stayed across all of England, with more amenities in the room than some places I've stayed in for triple the price.
The *only* problem, and it's not necessarily a problem for all, is that parking has to be sorted out (and therefore paid for) separately. And even then, they're right next to several carparks so it's just an extra cost to keep in mind. If I'm being nitpicky, and I can't stress this is such a trivial thing, is that i wish there had been a microwave. There were many amenities I didn't use (washing machine for example) but I would have used a microwave

Room was pleasant and well appointed. Location is great, close to the main station and within easy walking distance to most of central Manchester's attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was fine and served in nice room overlooking the canal.
Housekeeping turned up to service the room between 5pm and 6pm on both of the full days we were there. We sent them away both times as we'd come back to the room after a day's exploring and just wanted to chill out in peace by then. So the room was never serviced during our stay, which was a bit annoying.

Beautiful hotel, perfectly located between train station and right in the centre. All staff were so friendly and helpful. Room spotlessly clean and well equipped. Gorgeous toiletries provided. Comfortable bed and pillows. Amazing shower. Tasty coffee and cocktails, too, if you don't want to venture too far. There are so many good places to eat nearby. Rooms have an iron, ironing board and hair dryer. Our room had a great kitchenette with dishwasher and washing machine too. Would absolutely stay here again when visiting Manchester again. Hands down one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in.

I really liked the hotel, very clean, pleasant atmosphere, lovely staff. They upgraded me to a larger room and it was a serious bonus, a large room with elegant design. The hotel is right next to all the public transportation you need, and the city center, all the sites are within walking distance, and if you don't like walking that much there are plenty of options. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the city.
I liked everything! The breakfast could be improved a bit, with the option of vegetables, a small salad or an omelet.
