From the moment I walked through the hotel doors, it felt like I was being transported back in time. The hotel has a quiet, refined charm, being the oldest hotel in Montreux it has kept it's character throughout. Heading upstairs to check in, I was met by the loveliest lady who walked me to my bedroom to show me around and made sure I had everything I needed. I booked to dine in the restaurant that evening but it was very relaxed so I could turn up anytime between 1900-2000. When I arrived, there was a single table already set up for me. The food was outstanding, they put on a set menu which changes daily and the food really is of such a high standard. I sat out on the terrace towards the end of the evening to catch the sunset and the staff remained very attentive. When I checked out in the morning I was able to leave my bag so I didn't have to carry it around until I left.
Nothing, I thoroughly enjoyed my entire stay and would definitely recommended this hotel to anyone coming to Montreux. I will be back as want to bring my partner next time.

We had a wonderful stay at the Masson Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The place is truly charming, with a delightful vintage ambiance that makes it a perfect spot for a family getaway. The staff was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout our visit. Our room, number 21, was spacious and offered a stunning view of the lake. The beds were comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The breakfast was really good and tasty, featuring a small but delightful buffet with both sweet and savory options. We particularly loved the porridge with raspberries. You will get there a good coffee as well :) Reaching Montreux was quite convenient, with a bus stop just a 10-minute walk away. The hotel also provided us with a complimentary discount card, which included free public transport and additional discounts on entry tickets, trains, boat cruises, and more. We’re already looking forward to returning one day!

Hotel is as advertised, historic and outside of Montreux proper. It is easily accessed from train stop they specify, but also an uphill climb and challenging when dragging luggage. Despite this, the location is beautiful; we had an amazing view of the lake from our very comfortable balcony. Room was very clean and spacious. We regretted that we were there for only one night. Beds very comfortable and bedding crisp! Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast generous and dinner was excellent. Highly recommend.
No complaints. If the expectation is for new furniture and furnishings, this is not the place for you. It is a historic hotel and lovely.

We got there early and the owner lady was so nice and welcoming. She gave us a good tour of the hotel and our room. They gave us a pass which gives us free access to the castle nearby and a few other things. I think it also gives free transportation. The breakfast provided was great. I will go back to this hotel again. We have to pay for the dinner and it's like 60 CHF something for a 4-course meal for one person. We ordered the dish of the day which cost like 29 CHF. The view from the room was also great. There was no fan or AC in the room which I got but we opened the window and kept it open for the whole night and the cold breeze from outside was the only thing we needed.
The wifi service was very poor.

Excellent location, surrounded by quiet and cute neighbourhood, and has fantastic view of the snowy mountains and lake, every morning the first thing I did was to go to the balcony and took pictures. It was extremely easy and quick to reach by bus 201 from Montreux centre; Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, learnt me tips and we had funny conversations, I felt at home. It’s a family business and you could tell staff work like a lovely big family; Breakfast was very cute and many choices, loved the bakery, hams, eggs, yogurt, melons, milk etc. I believed the owner of the hotel was serving guests during breakfast every morning, by asking my room number he knew how many people were coming with me for breakfast (so that he could suggest a table), such an impressive detail which makes you feel this is a super nice place to stay; Interior design and decoration was fabulous, it felt like a mini Downton Abbey. Although it is now almost two hundred years old, it is just so elegant and cozy. They have menus from 1900s displaying on the wall, many old but beautiful drawings of the hotel in 1800s & 1900s. You would feel you are witnessing and becoming part of a history. One hundred years ago, there was a woman who travelled to Montreux by ship from the other side of the continent by herself, she wrote a diary which inspired me one hundred years later, it is very mind-blowing to think the hotel might have seen us both now:) I chose the hotel for this reason, and very pleasantly I enjoyed very much the stay!
The only thing I would like to mention here is the thin wall, probably because the hotel is such a historical site so this is understandable. On the second and third night I could hear very clearly the man snoring in the room next to mine, which was a bit weird. Luckily he became quiet after some time. Also the sound of guests walking around was obvious, but everything went quiet during the evening (I would say at least from 10pm to 7am next day) so not a problem for me. As the overall experience was too nice, especially from the nice staff and view of snowy mountain, and considering its rich history, I still gave it a 10/10.

Everything! It was belle epoque fineness and we loved it here. The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere everything we wanted. Spectacular views and the room was good for 3 of us (mum, dad and teen son). The bar lovely for a drink, we didn’t try dinner but would have done if we stayed for another night. As soon as we walked in we felt happy.
Only slight grumble was the breakfast could have included a couple of hot items.

We had a superior room with a huge balcony and fantastic views. The location was perfect as the jazz festival was on and we were not near enough to hear all the noise 😂 The 4 course evening meals were excellent, we’ve never had cold soup, and enjoyed it so much! Breakfast was also extremely good. Staff very welcoming.
Creaky floors and beds, but that’s part of the charm!

Old style hotel with a soul. I enjoyed the interior decoration and will definitely stay here again if I ever return to Montreux. The breakfast was served in a beautiful room.
I have nothing to complain about this hotel. Although not on the city center, it was easy to get to with the tram. One climbs a steep hill, however it was refreshing and the view over the mountains and the lake was spectacular.

Mostly authentic old villa-hotel close to the Chillon castle - about 10-15 minutes on foot. Great view from the garden, good breakfast, parking in front of the hotel,
A bit far from Montreux center, still, buses help a lot. As many old buildings - a bit noisy (floors, etc). Not the best soundproofing, especially from stairs. No lift - it can be a problem for some guests.

Oldest hotel in Montreux and has a home feel as if you are staying with your Swiss grandparents. We came as a group of 3 that turned to 4 last minute for the Jazz Festival. They accommodated us quickly with a 4th bed. Great location to get quickly to the venue and quiet enough to sleep away from the commotion. It was so quiet, we had to add our own white noise to the room.
