Fantastic apartment that was very spacious, well equipped and has a very comfortable bed and powerful shower in the bathroom. Very welcoming and helpful staff in reception who gave us some welcoming Christmas treats left by the owner of the hotel on our arrival. The location is perfect and you can walk everywhere you need to go in Reykjavik within a couple of minutes and there are some fantastic places to eat literally just steps from the front door. This was our third time staying at The Black Pearl over the last 10 years, each stay has been amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to come back and stay there again.

Nothing at all.

First was the location. Our bus from the airport dropped us off at Bus Stop #4 which was a 2 minute walk from the hotel. This bus stop is also the one you will use for all of the tour shuttles you will probably book on your trip. For getting to the center of the city it was an easy 5-10 minute walk with restaurants, shops and popular points of interest. Second was the staff. Our only interaction with staff was when we checked in and out and when we had to ask a question mid-trip about scheduling our shuttle back to the airport. Everyone was warm and friendly and made us feel welcomed. Third and a very import one is the apartment. The apartment was very modern looking and in almost perfect condition. There was a touch screen panel that controlled the lighting and heating. You could also control both within each room using the switches. The kitchen had more than we needed as it was a short trip and we spent most of our time exploring and eating out. But if you are planning on cooking while you stay it has everything you could need. It all looked brand new. Gas stove and oven top, good size fridge and freezer (make sure you check the black book for mini bar prices.) pots and pans as well as all the plates and utensils you would need. The bed was very comfortable for my taste. Firm mattress, but you still felt like you were sleeping on a cloud. I thought there was plenty of closets if you need them. The bathroom was just as modern as the rest of the apartment. There was also a big balcony off the living room which was nice to step out on to get a breath of cold crisp air. But we didn't spend much time out there. Our room only had a view of the building next to it. In summary, this place was meant to be a place where we can sleep and get a couple of hours throughout the day in between different activities to rest and regroup. I would definitely stay here again when I visit next.

A fantastic place to stay in Reykjavik. I think this is our fourth or fifth stay at the Black Pearl in Reykjavik going all the way back to 2015. The suites are large, extremely well equipped and very, very comfortable. The staff at reception are so friendly and welcoming, as well as very knowledgeable. It is located right in the middle of Reykjavik, right next to the harbour, so there are plenty of fantastic things to do as soon as you step outside the door. There is a fantastic bakery called DEIG that is practically next door that does wonderful bagels, donuts and pastries. The Reykjavík Art Museum Hafnarhús is also just across the road.

The spotlight fittings above the bed get extremely hot and my wife burnt her finger when she touched it. A little bit of a refresh could be in order soon. There are a few scuff marks on walls and chips out of paintwork. There must've been a flood in the apartment above at some point as the ceiling in the bathroom some stains and bubbles in the paint.

The room was beautifully designed, modern, and incredibly spacious. It features a digital system to control lighting and temperature, making it very convenient to adjust settings with just a touch. Kitchen: Fully stocked with high-quality appliances, cookware, and utensils. The large refrigerator was a plus, offering plenty of storage space and even an ice maker. Bathroom: Strong water pressure with consistent hot water, making showers very comfortable. The building provides private parking (with a fee), which made it easy and safe to bring in luggage. However, parking spots are limited, requiring an advance reservation.

The mini bar took up a lot of space in the fridge, leaving less room for personal items. The bathroom lighting was a bit too dim, making it less ideal for tasks like applying makeup or shaving. The rain shower head dispersed water too widely. The exit from the parking area lacks clear signage, which sometimes leads to cars blocking the way. We faced one blocking by other guests who were checking-in.

Great space and location. Staff were super friendly.

The epitome of a modern apartment with a clean open plan layout, modern and adjustable lighting, all kitchen essentials and excellent wardrobe storage. Overall a very comfortable space for our party of three. In addition the location was superb being close to the old harbour, downtown, nearby restaurants, bars and the tour bus stops. Massive call out to the team at Black Pearl who were always at hand to answer questions and provide local insights. Big thank you to Veronica.

No applicable - it was perfect for our needs

Spacious apartment, kitchen fully stocked with pots, pans, plates and cutlery. Full size fridge with a mini bar (payable) good shower and quality toiletries, towels, robe and slippers. Liked the two separate quilts on bed to no fighting 😂🤣 tv in both lounge and bedroom and had all apps preloaded, just need to sign in. Walk in wardrobe had plenty of space. Don’t worry about being cold. Everywhere indoors around city is toasty warm.

Couch could have been more comfy but sofa bed and they all tend to be similar. Pillows in bedroom could have been better.

I recently stayed at Black Pearl Apartments, and it was pure luxury from start to finish. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring every aspect of my stay was perfect. One unique and delightful touch was the daily Yule Lads scrolls—a charming Christmas story left each night, adding a festive and cozy atmosphere to my stay. Additionally, I was touched by the thoughtful birthday present they left in my room, which made me feel truly special. Black Pearl Apartments exceeded all my expectations, and I can’t recommend them highly enough!

The apartment was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. It was very clean, floors were heated, room temperature was great and I could adjust temperature as needed. Room was large with a nice King size bed and ample closets. Shower was excellent. The kitchen was perfect had Nespresso machine, kettle, nice size fridge with freezer, dishwasher, toaster, oven and microwave. Normal sized table to eat all meals. Living room with comfortable couch and TV. There was a balcony but I didn’t use it. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. Lots of restaurants nearby and coffee shops. Main shopping street a few minutes walk from hotel. Big supermarkets are a 15 minute walk from hotel. Bus stop 4 is 3 minutes walk from hotel . City is very safe for solo female travelers. So happy I chose this hotel, area is safe and hotel is perfectly located and walking distance to everything.

Nothing, perfect hotel

We loved the apartment and the space. We were traveling with a toddler so we wanted a separate bedroom from the living room. The staff set up a lovely cot, even with baby shampoo etc - very thoughtful. The location was great too and having parking was superb as it was -13 when we got there. There were mixed reviews about the heating but we didn’t have an issue.

Prices were increased by a lot because we stayed over new year but, I suppose that would be the same anywhere. Parking is quite pricey too.
