We spent four fantastic days at the Schwarzsee Hotel. We will remember this trip for a long time. We fell in love with this place and will definitely come back if we have the opportunity. The hotel is located in a wonderful place in the middle of the ski slopes. Access only by gondola until about 16.30 in winter. For lovers of quiet places outside the city, it is perfectly located at the foot of the Matterhorn and among other four-thousanders around. Very nice, homely service. The hotel standard is modest but clean and pleasant. A bit cold in the dining room, you have to wear a warm sweater, but the rooms are very warm. The prices are acceptable for Switzerland. We highly recommend it.

Hotel Schwarzsee is special spot. They have improved their staffing now and it is far more friendly experience. Young dynamic crew that works hard to provide the best service. Front desk person is very nice and charming--important as it sets the tone for the stay. They are much more oriented towards understanding what hospitality and customer service means. It is a constant struggle and not easy as some guests may be difficult and they are now winning. Overall a pinnacle experience, pun intended and I will definitely be back.

Food was good but could perhaps be improved--hard to deliver dinner for 30 people in short time frame. Breakfast was typical hearty Swiss Hotel fare--hot options would be nice but perhaps impractial.

The hotel located in the middle of the slope and can only be accessed by the lift (Furi-Schwarzsee) during the winter time. It is an optimal place, if you come for skiing: you can ski, till the lift Furi-Schwarzsee is opened. If you go from Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, plan to end up directly at the hotel (you still need to take the lift Furgg-Schwarzsee to go up from Furgg). The hotel provides a dinner which is served in a nice wooden lobby with a top view on Zermatt village. You can not go down to the village after the lifts are closed, but you can walk around Schwarzsee and enjoy the mountain views in a calm enviroment. In the morning you can witness the sunrise with a view on Matterhorn and then enjoy being the first on the freshly prepared slopes. The staff is friendly, rooms are clean, breakfast/dinner are good.

In the dormitory room (a bed in the room with 6 beds) was no option to boil the water (may be it was possible at the reception). The wardrobe was big, but once there were all six persons in the room, there was not enough space to put all skiing clothes, thus some clothes were put on the windowsill. It would have been better to have more electric sockets in the room - sometimes it was not enough for all people.

Staff are friendly, especially Mr. Miguel helped me feel at home with a smile and kind service to a solo traveler like myself. Thank you, Migue! Dinner and breakfast were delicious! Unexpectedly, i had great awesome experiences at night with gazing stars and dawn with rising golden sunlight from those mountain tops around.

I had to be stuck on the mountain for the whole night after I got off the cable car around 4 pm and got down after 8 am next morning. I missed the Glacier Express train. This hotel needs to put more information about transportation situation.

For us this was a perfect hotel that exceeded our expectations on our skiing holiday. We really loved our stay here. We lived in the quadruple room for 8 days during the Christmas period. We had amazing weather the whole time and lots of snow. The view is amazing both down on Zermatt but also Matterhorn of course. The breakfast was basic but good. The 3 course dinner was great and always varied. Our kids loved it and I already miss being there.

Location cannot be beat. Had en suite room and was surprised by how nice it was. Even had cleaning service each day which didn’t expect on the mountain.

Breakfast was acceptable but nothing to brag about. Warm eggs and warm something else would make a big difference. Cold hard boiled eggs aren’t exactly heart warming

We missed our last cable car so we can not check in on the day,We asked staff member to postpone they are so kind to agree. We successfully check in in the second day,And they even gave us the room earlier than usual. The environment the view and the staff member are all good. We had a great stay. Extraordinary experience with This hotel.

The room had excellent view of Matterhorn and the lift for the Matterhorn glacier express was at accessible distance. The hotel is well located to different hiking trails around Matterhorn and caters good food and breakfast options (vegan included). The staff was courteous and friendly. We loved our stay here.

The hotel is only accessible via the Gondola as it is located at 2583 m , so you have to be perfect with your arrival time , be sure you arrive before 4 pm Zermatt time (last Gondola to Schwarzsee) else you have to hike (2.5 hrs) to reach this place.

The location is excellent, offering clear views of the mountain peak and easy access for nearby photo opportunities. The room is spotless and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast are available, allowing you to relax and fully enjoy the serene atmosphere.

The bathroom lights and the heater didn’t work at night, but it didn’t affect my rest.

The location can't be beat. You are right at the base of Matterhorn. So the view from bedroom, dinning room or basically every corner is wonderful with Matterhorn as backdrop. And it is unobstructed, you have the Matterhorn to yourself. The room is just basic though.

Staff should be more kind and have some basic service mind. They just come to do they job and want it to be finished as fast as possible, seem like that. No smile on their face, not a welcoming group of people. They are not rude, don't get me wrong but they are just there and their gesture stated that I am busy, don't bother me.
