Location was very central. Famous hot dog stand, rainbow street, shopping all a very short walk. Property was so cozy and the room was great and agree with other reviewers - the bed is like a cloud. Heat control in room was good- never cold. Breakfast was fabulous. So many choices and delicious. I wasn’t going to pay the extra but was really glad I did. Very close to Bus Stop so easy for tours and airport transfer. Spa downstairs was fabulous but the room is so comfortable didn’t use but once. Also, 7-11 next door and some drinks etc for sale at the desk. Great experience and so glad I picked this hotel and paid a bit more. Bar area was really nice. And very, very clean!! Loved this hotel!!
No streaming on the tv. Was looking forward to movies at night as I was alone. Only downside. Could have brought my firestick but didn’t think a curio would need it. Otherwise, nothing negative.

The very comfortable beds, the blackout curtains and the quiet street made sleeping wonderful. The location was great. Everything was within easy walking distance of all our activities (The harbor for a boat cruise, Harpa for a concert, the shopping, restaurants) The #3 bus stop right around the corner made it very easy to be picked up and dropped off for the airport bus and for the tour buses.
There is not a lot of counter space to sit toiletry bags, toothbrushes etc. in the bathroom. We were constantly having to shift things around.

Facilities were great and clean. Cool amenities too!
Be warned- there is no air conditioning at this property (or likely any others in Reykjavík). Coming from the US we had no idea. This was our only complaint, however the hotel staff were still extremely accommodating and gave us fans to use during our stay.

The moment you enter through the automatic doors and step into the rich deep wood interior you know you have entered a hotel with excellence as their standard. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient in all that they did. Guest safety and privacy is paramount, as proven by the need to have a key card to operate the elevator, enter a floor from the stairs and enter any part of the facility not on the main floor. The king deluxe room was spacious and well appointed with robe, slippers, luxurious linens a pod style espresso /coffee maker, full sized ironing board and refrigerator. The bed was medium firm as were the pillows, which worked both for side and back sleeping. The location is ideal, with many fine dining restaurants, bakeries, coffee houses and bars within a very short walking distance. The Konsulat Hotel is the perfect, upscale place to stay while in Reykjavik!

Breakfast was organised into perfection. Staffing gentle, polite, friendly. Hotel Bar and Restaurant. Delicious choice of small dishes. Great service even prepared to have the hands burned on hot dishes to keep guests satisfied. Very kind and friendly. Room cleaning personnel, so kind and attentive with a focus on the convenience of the guest; superb. Receptionist desk; All of them, helpfull, professional, available and polite.
Nothing.

Clean, great location. Great choice of food for breakfast.
No drawers in room to put clothes. When coming to Iceland you tend to bring plenty if layers but our room had very little storage. Felt like we were living out of our suitcases. Other negative would be the lack of friendliness of a member of staff at breakfast. Not unpleasant, just not very welcoming. In need of someone a little more cheery and upbeat in the morning.

The location of the hotel was amazing, easy to get to and it felt safe to walk to at night. Also enjoyed the bedding of the rooms which was super comfortable.
There wasn't much I didn't like, perhaps the windows in the room were a bit tricky to close, maybe they could use some lubricant on the metal bars to closer them easier, but besides that the stay was fine.

This hotel was excellent for me, especially the cleanliness and hospitality. The staff at the front desk, housekeeper, and dining staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend adding the breakfast! Food was fresh and delicious.
I didn’t like the building in front of the hotel, there was a small casino. Otherwise the location was easy to navigate around the area.

Love the location, but the real wow is the feel and style of the hotel and the rooms. The hotel has a very boutique feel and is a world away from the usual bland branded hotel rooms. The bed is comfy and the bathroom is spacious with a superb waterfall shower. Breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold foods, with fresh juice and drinks available.
As with most city centre hotels, there is no onsite parking, but this is not an issue in Reykjavik as there is street parking and car parks nearby. The room we had was beautifully furnished, but was pretty cosy, so not a lot of space, but the bathroom was spacious. One downside for us was that we arrived back one night and found the bar closed at 11pm. Not a major issue, but disappointing when the bar area had quite a few people there.

The location is perfect whether you're there for work or pleasure. The décor of both the hotel, and the rooms is very nice. The rooms are well equipped, airy and very comfortable. I took advantage of the Bathhouse and had a great sauna and dip in the heated pool (though the jets didn't seem to work).
Those that travel know you get the best hotel breakfasts in Scandinavia. It was good, but I've had better. A small detail, something to maybe look at but it wouldn't stop me from rebooking next time I'm in the city.
