The location by the lake was perfect. The problem was that Booking.com advertised regular rooms and once I had placed the booking, there was suddenly no room available until I booked a very expensive "Presidential Suite" which was really not a Presidential Suite but an upgraded room of a slightly higher category. This hotel loves to charge in US Dollars and is expensive for what you get. In the end when we arrived at the hotel we were the only foreign paying guests that I could see at breakfast. The following day there were a couple more guests at breakfast but very few.

Swarms of young local girls filled the common areas, dining rooms and bar areas almost every day at all times. My wife was unable to wash her hands in the ladies restroom due to local girls "hogging" the mirrors and sinks. One thug looking guy was paying the bill for two of these young girls and he looked like their pimp. We had paid over 30Million Dong for this stay and the security allowed all these youngsters to parade around taking selfies and photos of each other everywhere. To what end I can only speculate. The owner needs to decide if he is in the hotel business or the pornography business, my wife was embarrassed to see many young girls in late teens and early twenties wearing their party dresses up to their butts.

An elegant mansion indeed. In a good neighborhood and modern amenities . Very spacious and comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. A quick shout out to Adam, who was very friendly and helpful during our stay, he gave great recommendations and good insight into local Hanoi life . In terms of facilities, the gym and pool were great too. It was a bit cold during the time of our visit, so we were thoroughly impressed by the heated pool. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. In fact , we already look forward to returning to Hanoi and staying at this property again. Really good value for money

A true restful location away from the busy areas of Hanoi, great restaurants around the hotel, the staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive. Room was beautifully designed and well kept. Westlake is a truly charming and restful location unlike other lake resorts which are filled with loud and gross jet skis and off putting loud and narcissistic adolescents. The rooms were chic, art offers Vietnam’s unique artform of lacquerware. Who ever put this together deserves applaud. Gym needs more equipment like benches but hey, I'm not complaining. The pool location and design was exceptional- better vista than some of the best hotels in the world.

None at all. Maybe only please use fresh and not UHT milk for lattes!

Location, overlooking the lake and the staff were nothing short of absolutely wonderful. Oh and the food was amazing.

There was nothing not to like

It’s not often you can say everything but Mansion 88 ticks all the boxes and more. Spotlessly clean, fabulous decor. The breakfast is top class with a wide selection of Al a carte and buffet catering for all tastes. The rooms are spacious and have all you could want to make your stay comfortable. The rooftop infinity pool is a great place to unwind and take in the views of the lake with a cocktail or two. Finally a mention for all the staff, they are a credit to the hotel,

Everything was first class

Lovely property on the lakeside, a bit out of the main central area (which is what we wanted). This is a brand new hotel so everything was completely pristine. Lovely downstairs bar / lounge area perfect for relaxing in. The room was decorated beautifully and was spacious with all mod cons (we had a deluxe king room). The rooftop terrace, bar and pool area was delightful. The pool was had fabulous views across the lake, and it was heated which allowed us to spend a good amount of time in the pool despite not so good weather. Breakfast was really good quality. We were allowed a late checkout which was really helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Only a slight niggle but there were no options for food out of hours. We arrived around 9.30pm - we were very hungry as we had missed dinner due to flight issues, but there was no option for any food at the hotel, including room service. As a five star hotel I would expect some room service food options on offer if not 24/7 then at least until a bit later in the evening.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Elegant Mansion. It is a very luxurious hotel -the best place I have stayed in Hanoi- and is located in the tranquil ex-pat area, meaning it is a perfect place to escape from the noise, hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were friendly and attentive, and helped me with my transport arrangements. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The breakfast was excellent. I was also able to go for a relaxing walk close to the hotel - there were nice bars and restaurants within walking distance with a great view over the lake.

The hairdryer could be more powerful and not have to hold the button on Tiny thing but the box wanted something to improve so that’s the only one .

Location out of central Hanoi, everything very high quality. Chan the night manager really helpful with organising my airport departure

This hotel is so lovely. The location is out of the busy city centre which is refreshing. Lovely lake views. Easy enough to get a taxi into the old quarter (which of course they organise) breakfast is delicious, you order off the menu in addition to a buffet. We also enjoyed dinner which was not the cheapest but worth it. Above everything else, the staff are exceptional. We had booked 2 nights and decided to do a Halong Bay cruise. The staff, particularly Chad, went above and beyond to organise a luxury cruise for us and kindly booked us in for the night we returned. This meant we could hold most of our luggage at the hotel. And we were pleasantly surprised to find out when we returned they had upgraded our room. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.
