The breakfast was fine and in the pretty chapel room. The building was very interesting and clean. The location of the hotel was a problem because of the population on the street. When we first arrived, we were going to walk to dinner but due to loitering groups, and questionable characters on the sidewalk we decided to drive everywhere we went. In spite of this, I would definitely stay there again. At night from my room on the second floor, I could spot the lit up top of the capitol building and the churches across the street were elegant.

The front entry stairs could be swept and kept free of debris. There was only one chair in our room and it would have been nice to have two.

Loved the architecture of the building, the high ceilings, wooden floors and trim around the base boards, doors and windows. The stair case was easy to use when you wanted. It was a very comfortable stay and as a traveler alone, I felt completely safe. Breakfast in the former Chapel was lovely and delicious. Would absolutely stay there again! Delightful!

Parking - the hotel does not own or control their parking. Two options are close. The parking closest to the property was $10 - $20 per overnight. That garage was the most convenient as it was directly behind the hotel and easiest access as the hotel has a side entrance. Everything else was terrific and parking was workable. The property is downtown St Paul, and easy access in / out of downtown.

The Celeste Hotel in St. Paul is truly a hidden gem. It has a lot of charm and character due to it having been a convent and later a music school. However, if you do not like paintings of nuns this is not the place for you. It is exceptionally restful and in the heart of St. Paul. It is on the corner of Exchange & Cedar. At the other end of the block on Exchange is the Fitzgerald Theater at Exchange & Wabasha. You can easily get there from the airport using the light rail. The 10th Avenue stop on the Green Line is about a block away from the Celeste on Cedar. There are several steps leading up to the front door. However the Celeste does have an entrance on Cedar that has no barriers. You either use your room card or, if you have not checked in yet, push the button next to the door and let the desk staff know you want to be let in. The breakfast is not fancy but it is very good and plentiful. I would not hesitate to book the Celeste in the future. See photos.

Nothing needs improvement here.

Everything from the room to the breakfast, staff and location were wonderful. I arrived early and planned to just drop my luggage off and go to the office for the workday, but the manager and front desk host were able to let me into my room. The bar was a fun hangout w/ a few co-workers and since i don't drink alcohol, the bartenders made some amazing non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy. Also, the evening I was originally set to depart, my flight was cancelled (but not because of the big software problem on 7/19) and when i first called the reservation line, there was no availability. I called the direct line and the person found a room for me to stay! That made me even more loyal to stay at the Celeste again next time I come to St. Paul! Thank you so much!

This is a beautifully renovated property that felt very modern while at the same time honoring and highlighting a lot of the original building's rich history. The rooms were generous in size and the furniture and bedding was super comfortable. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the Twin Cities.

The location was central for our trip's purposes, but it is not really a walkable neighborhood and there did not seem to be a lot of services or restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

The building and the rooms and the bar and the lobby were all gorgeous. Very well designed and decorated. Historical building and I appreciated how they kept as much of the original as possible. Breakfast was better than many typical hotel breakfasts. Bar staff was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were large. Everything was clean. Close to downtown and walk to the river, bars, restaurants.

My room let in too much light because the hall light could be seen through the (windowed doors). It made it hard to sleep. There were very few electrical outlets in the room; somewhat inconvenient. The bar did not really serve much food. It would have been nice to have the option to order a sandwich at the bar. The fitness center was really just one very small room. The parking is not provided / included; you just have to find your own parking and hope for the best.

Breakfast was served in the old chapel an it was very good! Scrambled eggs, sausage links, sliced kielbasa, American fried potatoes, an assortment of juices, assortment of hot and cold, cereals, breads for toast, coffee, cake, fruit, coffee station with flavored syrups. They had everything we needed, and it was delicious.

I have no suggestions for this. We were only there one night but we enjoyed our stay, the location was perfect for a short walk to The Pill Box Tavern for supper and a short walk to the Excel Energy Center for our concert

This hostel is unlike any other I’ve stayed at. It beats a Chain hotel. It’s unique and the decor is very nice. The history behind the building was fun to read. It’s a quick walk to the Xcel center.

Since it’s downtown, there’s no parking. But right around the corner there’s a parking ramp. We paid $18 for overnight parking and that didn’t seem unreasonable. Our room didn’t have a microwave and that was a bummer. There was a microwave on certain floors, not the one we stayed on.

location in St Paul was very convenient. the fact the hotel was a former convent added charm and character to our stay. Breakfast was exceptional with freshly made egg dish and a host of other dishes. Would definitely stay here again

Our stay at the hotel was excellent, food, service, room were all great. There was no lack of heat in our rooms when it was 10degrees F outside
